Sands exists to save babies’ lives and ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death receives the support and care they need.
Our Bereavement Support Services team provides a wide range of services including a freephone Helpline, Online Community, Social Media support, memory making resources and print materials in order to provide consistent, high-quality information and support to bereaved families.
In this role you will provide operational and line management support so that the team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers whilst working on a rota basis. You will also personally provide support to families via our various bereavement support channels.
The Sands Helpline is currently open from 10.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, and also between 6.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be expected to work regular shifts on a rota basis.
With significant experience of managing a team responding to people in crisis and providing bereavement-centred support in a variety of settings and channels, you will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of and empathy with, the issues surrounding the death of a baby.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use these appropriately to offer telephone and email support to bereaved families.
The ability to professionally represent the charity’s views and positions clearly is essential, as are strong research skills and the ability to keep accurate and clear records in a variety of formats. Additionally, you will have a thorough understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.
You will be highly-organised and have effective time management skills with the ability to manage your own workload. The ability to reflect on your own practice and attend regular accredited clinical supervision is also essential.

Director – Horse Rangers Association
The Horse Rangers Association (Hampton Court) (HRA) is a young people’s charity, supporting personal development by teaching the management and riding of horses. It also works to encourage and develop young riders and vulnerable adults with special needs who participate in our Riding for the Disabled (RDA) lessons during the week.The organisation has just celebrated its 70th anniversary. It is led by our Director, who reports to our board of trustees, and is based at the Bushy Park Stockyard. The work with young people is delivered by a senior volunteer team mainly at weekends, supported by the Stable Manager and her staff team, with organisation and back up support by the office team. The charity looks after 25 horses, and teaches riding and horse husbandry, to our 300 Ranger members.
Our Director is retiring this autumn after six successful years and we are looking to appoint his successor. The salary is £55k - £65k, with a range of other benefits and the option of flexible hours working.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF JOB
Leadership
● Developing and setting future strategic direction to ensure that the charity evolves and remains both relevant and financially stable in today’s environment.
● Management of Office and Stable teams, providing leadership and support to both.
● Building strong working relationships between the Stable staff, Riding for the Disabled Volunteers, Officers, parents, donors and members of the HRA, and Trustees.
● Acts as an ambassador for the HRA organisation when organising and leading on HRA key activities and events throughout the year.

Fundraising Strategy
● Leading on the development of the HRA to achieve a long term fundraising strategy in line with the vision and values of HRA.

● Developing publicity and marketing tools (including digital) to maximise fundraising income.

These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated Trust and Major Donor Fundraiser to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations but Trustees have decided to expand our income generation streams in order to enable us to do more for each and every Royal Air Force Air cadet. Our activities and projects include supporting flying, adventurous training, drone piloting, participation in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, national sports and national music competitions, BTEC qualifications, STEM development as well as many others. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is an opportunity to join a vibrant young charity at the start of its new journey to do more for the young people of our Nation.
The role will focus chiefly on sourcing funding from charitable trusts who share our goal of developing our young people, equipping them with the skills to prosper not only in the present but also for the rest of their lives. Some cadets will join the Royal Air Force, but the majority go on to forge careers in all walks of life thanks to the opportunities provided by the Air Cadets and the Air Cadet Charity. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested charitable trust fundraising skills such that they contribute the majority of the additional funds required to make this ambition a reality although we recognise that this will not be an overnight goal! About the Role
This role will be responsible for developing the vision and direction of the Communication and Marketing Strategy but will fundamentally be an operational management delivery role. Responsible for developing and rolling out a multi‐channel communication and marketing strategy that will:
- raise the profile of the charity by communicating news about projects, programmes, and partnerships on social channels, on online and print media outlets, TV networks,
- deliver communications to generate sales to secure a pipeline of farm residential visit bookings from beneficiary groups (being children from schools in disadvantaged communities, youth groups, young carers, children in care, etc) across England and Wales.
- secure income from fundraising by communicating the charity’s mission, vision, and values to donors, funders, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners.
The successful applicant will have considerable experience of developing and delivering a communication and marketing strategy as well as experience of designing and delivering multi-channel sales and marketing campaigns. Excellent people skills are key, as you will need to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Raising the profile of the Charity by devising and implementing a beneficiary‐focused communications strategy that supports both the sales and fundraising function, including print, social, and online communications that target teachers and other adults who are key decision makers for our beneficiaries.
- Developing and embedding an integrated communications and marketing strategy to deliver the ambitions of the Business plan, to reach new markets and successfully translate connections into bookings (‘sales’) or generate income from funders to support fundraising.

Ealing and Hounslow Community Voluntary Service (EHCVS) is a registered local charity with over 30 years of experience supporting voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups in Ealing and, since 2012, in Hounslow. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for less advantaged individuals by empowering local charities and volunteer organisations.
In this rapidly changing world where our sector continues to face many challenges and take on new opportunities, it is highly appropriate that Ealing CVS undertake reviewing and planning for the next three years. Consulting with our stakeholders has been a refreshing process. It has allowed us to study how well we delivered our core themes developing, connecting, representing, and innovating with the third sector in Ealing and Hounslow - and to establish new and more relevant work themes for future delivery.
Ealing CVS is a second-tier organisation that works with local charities and voluntary organisations in Ealing and Hounslow. Its overall aim is to provide a professional and effective service to local voluntary organisations through assistance, forming consortia, and bidding for major tranches of funding aimed at improving the lives of the local communities.
This is an entry level role with training provided.
Role Overview:

Provide infrastructure support to local voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and social enterprises.

Engage in one-on-one and outreach meetings to better support community needs.

Develop and manage VCSE networks focusing on key themes like Children, Families, and Young People, Health and Wellbeing, Digital Isolation, and Safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and oversee the implementation of detailed work plans for the development and funding advice service.

Assist VCS organisations with monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating their impact.

Provide guidance on funding streams, review proposals, and offer feedback.

Advise on legal structures, policies, and charity registration processes.

Planned and delivered training programs in collaboration with EHCVS staff or external trainers.

Norwood is currently recruiting a full time Physical Activity Lead to join the Complimentary services team within the Ravenswood Sports and Physical Activity Team. We offer sessions for Adults with Physical and Learning Disabilities, all within a semi-rural residential village environment in Crowthorne. This role is to manage a small team to deliver the sports and physical activities provision. This involves working closely with the Physical Activity Practitioners in conjunction with other professionals when required. To deliver and plan wellbeing and physical activity programmes, in response to the needs of the people we support in the village. This can be facilitating group and 1:1 sessions, to provide a person centred service. Consisting of health walks, bike club, rebound therapy on the trampoline and guided sessions within the hydrotherapy pool.
This candidate ideally is to be qualified to deliver sports sessions, develop sports programmes and has experience of managing a team. Full training will be provided and support to fulfil the role. The Physical Activity Lead role will also include varied administrative duties such as invoicing, keeping health and safety records up to date and liaising with external service providers. JOB PURPOSE
- Responsible for all calls/emails and face-to-face enquiries to the college relating to all courses.
- Support our students to get an excellent learning experience from our training courses.
- Assist new students and support continuing students of the college.
The role covers the following main aspects:
- Student administration for all Waverley Abbey College courses
- Liaise with the college team to make sure students have access to all their resources and are supported in using the college software and understanding the college protocols
- Liaise, as required, with the Library Assistant and Registrar on student enquiries relating to these functions
- Liaise with campus administration on smooth running of academic timetables onsite
Key Tasks
- Act as first point of contact for students and enquirers dealing with day-to-day queries

College Registrar

Since 1987, Waverley Abbey College has equipped Christians for their vocations with skills in spiritual formation, mental health and wellbeing, and leadership. We are now one of the largest providers of Christian Counselling qualifications in Europe and are fast becoming the leading provider of Chaplaincy training in the UK – all while maintaining both academic rigour and an outstanding level of student satisfaction.
We are looking for an experienced registrar to help manage the registry office and to ensure the team continues to provide excellent service to the college and its stakeholders, as well as effective liaison with and information provision to partner institutions and statutory bodies.
Key Tasks
- Support the Academic Registrar in managing the student journey through their programme of study, including requests for extensions, interruption, withdrawal and other changes including student progression. Responding to all queries by phone, email and face to face
- Liaise closely with the Student Finance, Academic Administration, Student
- Services teams and other functional areas within Waverley Abbey Trust including academic staff, Resources and HR
- Set up and take minutes of all Academic meetings
University and College Regulations
- Maintain an understanding of the validating university’s and Waverley Abbey College’s policies and regulations and check college and student compliance
- Contribute to university audits and programme validation/revalidation as required
Assessments and Progression Boards
- Assist the Academic Registrar in administering Moodle and maintain accuracy of the marking system and data, including release of grades to students and capture of results into student management system
- Prepare assessment information and associated documents for the External Examiners and assist with producing grade sheets for Assessment and Progression Boards
- Notify students of Assessment Board results and prepare award documents
- Liaise with college staff during graduation periods to ensure all eligible students are included
General
- Onboard students, including registering students with the university
- Ensure that all reports and data produced by the department are accurate and produced in a timely manner
- Attend Waverley Abbey College meetings including Assessment Events such as Open Days and Evenings (maybe weekends) Discovery Days and Graduations
- Closely co-ordinate with student finance staff as needed
- Attend the Mitigation Panel and record outcomes, for relay to students

To be successful in this role, you will have a good working knowledge of the Higher Education sector. Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support to children and adults with M.E. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E.
We are looking for an empathic and resilient individual to join a friendly and well-established team of part-time, remote-based Information and Support Officers, on a 12-month contract. The purpose of this role is to provide a holistic, client-centred, effective and efficient Information and Support Service to people affected by M.E. We do this primarily via outgoing calls made in response to triaged voicemail messages, and also via email.
You can choose to be home-based anywhere in the UK, work from our Bristol office, or a hybrid of the two.
Our Information and Support Service team has a deep understanding of the issues affecting people with M.E. and their family and carers. Some of our clients come to us in considerable distress so this work isn’t always easy, but it can be incredibly rewarding and is valued by our clients and the wider organisation.
You will need experience of working in a service providing information, advice, support or advocacy by telephone and email (or proven transferable skills). You will be experienced and confident at working with people in distress, and identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns, with the courage and emotional resilience to set and maintain realistic boundaries.
