Skills and Responsibilities

To develop relationships to secure gifts and grants from Corporate Foundations, Trusts and statutory grant makers to achieve income targets. Responsibilities include:

Prospect Research:

• Identify and develop a pipeline of opportunities from grant-giving trusts and foundations.
• Use internal database, online resources, desk research, and contact mapping to identify new funder opportunities.
• Review trusts’ and foundations’ funding criteria to grow the prospect pipeline.
• Develop a thorough understanding of our work and future developments to identify new funding opportunities.

Submitting grant applications:

• Create compelling and persuasive funding appeals.
• Complete grant application forms and follow application processes as required.
• Work closely with colleagues across the Directorate and the wider charity to articulate our work and build strong funding propositions.

Leadership & Relationship Management:

• Lead and manage the Trusts and Philanthropy Executive by developing skills, conducting appraisals and overseeing ongoing development.
• Lead & steward a portfolio of existing charitable trusts and foundations, and cultivate new potential donors, ensuring their support is recognised and celebrated.
• Ensure funders are thanked promptly and that grant terms and conditions are applied.
• Provide progress reports and manage all formal reporting requirements on time.
• Build relationships in person, by phone, email, or virtual meetings to secure long-term commitment.
• Identify opportunities for funders to meet key staff and attend events and site visits that strengthen their relationship with the charity.
• Implement the High Value Donor Stewardship Plan.
• Take a proactive role in developing assets such as appeals and cultivation events.
• Work with colleagues across the charity to monitor and evaluate funded projects, producing reports that demonstrate impact.

Administration and Reporting:

• Manage trust prospects and donors on the CRM database, ensuring records are accurate and compliant with fundraising regulations.
• Budget management, cost control forecasting and taking corrective action to achieve budgets.
• Use the CRM database to manage task “actions”, prioritise and evaluate opportunities, and record funder interactions.
• Manage and develop a portfolio of high value relationships.
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure grant applications are coordinated across the organisation.

Education & Qualifications:

• Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

Experience:

• Significant experience and track record in trust fundraising.
• Experience of writing compelling proposals and appeals.
• Proven experience of working as part of a team to deliver ambitious income targets.
• Experience in undertaking prospect research and creating a pipeline of prospects through to cultivation, ask and stewardship.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Email marketing

 

· Create high-quality, timely and inspiring emails for HI UK’s donors and supporters every week, to increase income and engagement.

· Develop and launch multichannel emergency fundraising appeals at short notice to maximise fundraising income and supporter awareness.

· Develop and maintain email marketing automation programmes to improve supporter experience.

 

Paid media

· Work with our digital agency to optimise the ROI of our Search Engine Advertising (SEA) on Google and Bing.

· Develop and test new Social Media Advertising campaigns to support fundraising objectives.

· Develop and test new paid media activities to enhance fundraising campaigns.

· Develop and implement multichannel digital fundraising campaigns, working with the Fundraising Manager.

Content creation and website

· Design and produce creative content including video and images for use across digital fundraising and supporter engagement activities.

· Increase the impact of our organic social media content, particularly on Instagram and TikTok.

· Improve the HI UK website as a tool for fundraising and supporter engagement, focusing on the creation and development of appeal landing pages, donation forms, and supporter actions.

· Increase volume and quality of organic traffic to HI UK’s website through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

Cross cutting

 

· Maintain detailed reporting on key performance indicators for digital marketing, to evaluate performance, make improvements and identify tests.

· Test and improve key supporter journeys across HI UK’s digital channels to increase income, conversion rate and engagement.

· Increase the integration of HI UK’s existing digital tools and databases through automation.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues in the IGC team to improve digital activities in their areas of responsibility, including legacy fundraising, acquisition, loyalty, supporter care, and media outreach.

Other responsibilities

 

· Maintain a positive working relationship with the marketing teams in HI Federation and National Associations, participating in digital working groups and feeding into digital transformation projects as required.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the South Central region, covering HMP Aylesbury and HMP Bullingdon. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the Central region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including possible overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) is seeking a Finance Manager to strengthen our financial foundations as we celebrate 60 years of nurturing young talent. This newly created role brings together financial operations across our vibrant organisation, working closely with our Chief Executive and all departments.

Founded in 1965, NYJO has grown from a single jazz orchestra to a dynamic charity delivering engaging participation projects and impactful live performances. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide high-quality support to volunteers, volunteer managers, and service providers across our community networks. You’ll help ensure enquiries are resolved promptly, guide volunteers through their journey, and work collaboratively to maintain well-governed, compliant groups that meet local needs. If you’re passionate about empowering volunteers, skilled in communication and planning, and eager to contribute to positive change for people affected by MS, we’d love to hear from you.

Are you a highly organised, systems-savvy professional with experience in project delivery and operations? We’re supporting a professional membership organisation to recruit a temporary Examinations Coordinator to join their team. This is a hands-on role combining operational delivery, systems development, stakeholder management, and line management of a small team.

What you’ll do

• Coordinate the delivery of cyclical professional examinations, occurring several times per year.
• Provide line management and development support for two team members.
• Lead on system improvements and management, including booking systems, CRM platforms, and workflow tools.
• Support strategic delivery, budgeting, and planning for examinations.
• Manage candidates requiring adjustments and coordinate assessment boards.
• Undertake audits, investigations, and data analysis projects to improve team processes.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Occasionally travel within the UK, including possible overnight stays and weekend support.

About you

• Experience working with online systems and supporting system development (CRM, Zendesk or similar)

Citizens Advice Camden, part of the national Citizens Advice network, is a thriving local advice charity that provides information, advice and casework support to 10,000  individuals and families per year.

Role Purpose

The Income Maximisation Adviser role has been developed in partnership with Camden Foodbank and the Trussell Trust, to provide tailored advice and support to individuals accessing food assistance from Camden foodbank, and those identified as at risk of destitution.

The service aims to tackle the root causes of financial hardship and help households maximise their income. This includes delivering specialist welfare benefits advice to ensure clients receive all entitlements, supporting them through mandatory reconsiderations and appeals, and assisting them with applications for grants and other financial support.

Key elements/Tasks 

• Interview clients sensitively and effectively to deliver individually tailored advice which empowers clients, whilst providing in-depth casework support when needed.
• Provide information, advice and casework through face-to-face meetings, by email and telephone to ensure clients’ needs are met.
• Conduct benefit entitlement checks, assist clients in claiming their full entitlements, and provide support to challenge incorrect benefit decisions.
• Support clients in claiming grants and discounts to maximise income and help stabilise household budgets.

Action in rural Sussex (AirS) supports rural communities across Sussex to be vibrant and diverse places in which to live and work. Community spaces play an important role in these local communities. They build community cohesion and resilience, support the health and wellbeing of residents, help overcome social isolation. contribute to the creation of vibrant local economies, and reduce carbon emissions by providing services and activities locally, and reducing their own carbon footprint.

Most community buildings are charitable, run mainly by volunteers who need a wide range of skills and knowledge to run a successful and sustainable community space. Our Community Buildings Service supports volunteers and hall managers by providing networking opportunities, training, newsletters, an online forum, and bespoke individual advice and support.

This is an exciting time for the service as we look to expand its reach and further develop our offer. The Project Support and Communications Officer will work closely with our Senior Community Buildings Adviser to support the delivery and development of the service across Sussex. You will be the first point of contact for enquirers, helping subscribers to the service to access our platforms. You will help to plan our training and events programme and provide administrative and logistical support. You will also manage communications and marketing for the service, including monthly newsletters, website updates, email communications and social media, and take the lead on updating and developing our CRM.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who can bring a range of skills, knowledge and experience to the panel, including the ability to communicate clearly, reflect thoughtfully, and contribute respectfully to group discussions. Experience of engaging with education, safeguarding, treatment, peer support, research or policy is valuable, as is an understanding of the wider impacts of gambling harms on young people, families and communities. Above all, we are looking for people who are motivated to use their experience to help shape meaningful change for children and young people.

Role Requirements

Duties will include but not be limited to:

· Contributing to panel discussions and activities

· Sharing knowledge and areas of expertise

· Keeping up-to-date with current developments in the risks and emerging themes surrounding young people’s exposure and experiences with gambling.
