What You’ll Be Doing

As Emerging Gen Lead, you will drive World Vision UK’s mission to inspire and mobilise the next generation of Christians towards justice, generosity, and global mission. Reporting to the Director of Ministry Development, you will lead our engagement with youth, student, and young adult audiences (ages 13–25), creating bold, innovative pathways for them to connect their faith with action for the world’s most vulnerable children.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. You will design and implement initiatives that position World Vision as the charity of choice for young Christians passionate about making a difference.

Through powerful storytelling, authentic relationships, and creative programming, you will grow income, deepen spiritual impact, and embed Gen Z relevance within our Christian engagement strategy. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Fundraising & Marketing team, you will integrate next-gen approaches into campaigns and supporter journeys, ensuring that World Vision UK remains culturally relevant, spiritually resonant, and future-ready. This role requires exceptional relational skills, theological depth, and entrepreneurial energy to engage churches, networks, and emerging leaders at scale.

What You’ll Bring

· Proven experience designing, leading, and delivering impactful youth programmes, campaigns, or initiatives that build faith, action, and supporter commitment.

· Strong public speaking, storytelling, and facilitation skills with experience engaging young audiences, churches, and partner events both online and in person.

· Strong communication and storytelling skills, including experience speaking publicly to young audiences, churches, or partner events—both in person and virtually.

· Demonstrated ability to build authentic, trust-based relationships with youth leaders, churches, networks, and influencers for mobilisation and income generation.

The team

You’ll join our International Energy Access team, primarily working on the multimillion-pound Efficiency for Access Coalition including the Low Energy Inclusive Appliances (LEIA) programme that aims to double the efficiency and halve the cost of off- and weak-grid appliances in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. This programme is funded by UK aid, from the UK government via the Transforming Energy Access platform, and IKEA Foundation, and delivered by Energy Saving Trust in partnership with CLASP.

As part of the International Energy Access team, you’ll contribute to meaningful initiatives that have real-world impact on improving lives and livelihoods, while helping to address the climate emergency. Purpose of Role

To work within the Contracts and Planning team supporting the delivery of the Trust, Foundation and Statutory Programme. CONTEXT OF THIS ROLE:

At Purposeful, communications is political. It is how we amplify girls’ voices, sharpen feminist narratives, and push back against regressive agendas. The Communications Director will sit at the heart of this work - shaping and delivering a bold communications strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth.

This role leads the stewardship of Purposeful’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling practice, ensuring that everything we produce - whether op-eds, reports, campaigns, or digital content - carries our politics with clarity and conviction. The Communications Director will work closely with the Co-CEOs and across all Purposeful teams, including Advocacy, grant-making, Learning & Insights, Programmes, and Resource Mobilisation, to amplify girls’ organising, showcase our impact, and influence the broader philanthropic and activist ecosystem.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring a deep commitment to feminist movements, an instinct for storytelling as political practice, and a proven track record of positioning organisations on the global stage.

 

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Communications Strategy & Leadership

• Lead on delivery and implementation of a new communications strategy, building on 2025 planning foundations.

• Work closely with the Co-CEOs and director team to horizon scan and adapt strategy in response to organisational vision and external landscape.

• Provide leadership to a small team of staff and consultants (designers, digital specialists, artists) and work collaboratively with partner communications leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

• Meticulously manage and forecast the communications and editorial budget, ensuring value for money and strong planning.

• Track and analyse content performance, using insights to refine reach and engagement.

2. Storytelling & Content Development

• Oversee the creation of compelling storytelling content that highlights Purposeful’s impact, amplifies girls’ and young feminists’ voices, and influences funders.

• Lead editorial planning and content workflows, balancing evergreen storytelling with crisis-response or time-sensitive outputs.

• Oversee production and capture of content from live and digital events (webinars, IG Lives, panels, etc.).

• Coordinate brand refresh projects, including a website refresh, and strengthen Purposeful’s digital visibility with a focus on graphic-led content across social platforms.

3. Writing & Editorial Oversight

• Review and edit all external content to ensure quality, editorial standard, and alignment with Purposeful’s voice and values.

• Write op-eds, blogs, social media posts, campaign messaging, press materials, and executive summaries.

• Collaborate with colleagues in Learning & Insights to integrate data into storytelling and publications.

• Edit and manage the production of publications and reports, commissioning artists and graphic designers as needed.

This is a crucial, high-impact specialist role. You will be the dedicated advocate and expert for members of the Armed Forces community, providing end-to-end support through the complex process of securing compensation and pensions they are rightly entitled to.

You will manage a dedicated caseload, taking full accountability for guiding beneficiaries through claims, reviews, reconsiderations, and appeals under both the Service Pensions Order and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS). Your ultimate accountability will be to provide professional representation and advocacy before the War Pensions & Armed Forces Tribunal.

The Soldiers' and Aviators' Scripture Readers Association (known as SASRA) is one of the longest-established Christian charities supporting the British Armed Forces. Under Royal patronage and working with over 70,000 soldiers, 30,000 RAF personnel and some 10,000 supporters of various types, we look to introduce members of the British Armed Forces to a practical experience of the Christian faith. 

We are now looking for home-based Regional Managers to help us engage with the Christian public across the UK.

The main function of Regional Managers is to bring before the Christian public the work we do taking the gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing a practical experience of the Christian faith to the young people of the British Army and Royal Air Force.

The Regional Manager will present in churches, manage a team of volunteers, establish and maintain strategic partnerships across their region, lead regional projects and events, and produce and curate a wide variety of content.

The aim is to stimulate and encourage prayer, financial support and volunteering in support and furtherance of the work of SASRA, always respecting the interdenominational nature of our ministry. You will shape and grow the fundraising activities in the region and meet with supporters.

You will have excellent organisational, verbal and written communication skills. You’ll also have experience of managing and motivating individuals or groups. Critically, you will possess the spiritual endowment to promote prayer and missionary interest for the Lord's work through the Association in HM Forces.

You will be home-based, but expected to travel inside your region on a regular basis, meeting with supporters and supporting organisations that are raising funds for SASRA

You will be responsible for raising our profile among the Christian community and generating significant levels of engagement with potential supporters of SASRA (both individuals and churches)
