We are seeking three dedicated and experienced Practice Consultants to join our team and help deliver transformative fostering support across the North East, North West England and Scotland.

This is a unique opportunity to drive improvements in fostering practice and positively impact the lives of children and young people in care.

• North East England
  • Salary: £42,630 – £47,705 FTE (pro rata £34,104 – £38,164)
  • Hours: 28 hours per week
  • Location: Home-based/Hybrid. Travel across the North East is required, with occasional UK-wide travel.

About the Role

As a Practice Consultant, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team delivering services in Advice, Advocacy and Mediation, Training, and Practice Consultancy. Your work will contribute to our mission to empower, enrich, and support the relationships at the heart of the fostering community.

You will:

• Deliver high-quality training and consultancy services to fostering providers and carers.
• Support the development of fostering policy and practice across the UK.
• Champion trauma-informed, child-centred, and solution-focused approaches.
• Contribute to our publications, resources, and events.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and support membership engagement.

About You

We are looking for passionate professionals with:

• A relevant qualification (e.g., social work) or substantial fostering experience.
• Experience in training, mediation, and advocacy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A sound understanding of fostering legislation and practice.
• Confidence in working both independently and collaboratively.
• A flexible and proactive attitude to travel and service delivery.

We are looking for an experienced Community and Corporate Fundraiser to join our team at an exciting period of growth for our charity. Building on our existing relationships and developing new partnerships, you will help increase unrestricted income through community and corporate fundraising initiatives. 

Elayos exists to bring compassion, support and advocacy to vulnerable and isolated birthing people in Birmingham. Our Perinatal Outreach Workers, come alongside, build relationships, listen and equip with the information needed to empower our clients to have a positive and informed pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. 

Our staff and volunteers offer continuity of care as we assist with emotional, practical and physical needs. Elayos values the importance of trauma-informed approaches and seeks to offer this to both staff and clients. Where appropriate, we signpost and collaborate with other organisations to ensure that the greatest range of support is given.

Alongside emotional support, we provide: a baby bank stocking essential equipment and consumables, expert infant feeding support, a small hardship fund for essential items, vouchers to clients at Christmas and toy packs for vulnerable children.

Transform Europe Network (TEN) exists today to partner with Christians in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, to share the gospel and see lives transformed. TEN is celebrating 60 years of ministry this year and currently works in 10 countries supporting around 60 churches and projects. Our committed team do this through empowering, equipping, resourcing, and supporting our partners in their ministries of compassion, evangelism and church planting. 

Due to our Finance and Data Manager moving on, we are inviting applications for the position of Senior Finance and Operations Manager at Transform Europe Network.

We are looking for someone with a desire to work with a leading organisation, working in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. We need someone excited by this opportunity who will manage and develop the financial, data and operations side of the organisation.

We are looking for someone who:

· Will be committed to the vision of TEN to work alongside Christians to see lives transformed in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

• Can lead and develop the financial, operations and data work at TEN.
• Has financial and accounting experience.
• Has a strong understanding of financial planning and principles.
• Has experience of producing financial reports for small organisations.
• Has experience with CRM systems.
• Has experience of managing people.
• Has strong IT skills including proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is able to work to deadlines.

Key tasks will include:

• Financial management of Transform Europe Network.
• Oversight of TEN’s data and CRM systems.
• Management of the Finance Administrator and Communications Officer.
• Oversight of the TEN office and office support services.
• Working with the CEO to help the strategic development of the organisation.
• Deputising for the CEO when required.

In order to perform this role, it is essential that the post holder is in full sympathy with the aims and goals of TEN. To that end he/she must be a committed Christian (able to agree with the organisation’s statement of faith) and able to fully participate in spiritual activities whilst carrying out the responsibilities of Senior Finance and Operations Manager.

The role is hybrid with the expectation that the successful candidate will be able to work in the office three days per week.

Light Up Learning is a Scottish charity providing bespoke support for high school students. We are dedicated to igniting a love of learning in young people and transforming the nature of education in Scotland.

Our programme aims to address issues of unequal access to education and disengagement in the classroom by creating low-stress, supportive, and playful learning environments for young people who have experienced disadvantage. Scripture Union England & Wales (SU) one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations is  working in partnership with Activate, an exciting local sport and wellbeing project, to offer this unique role to reach many more young people in the Bushy Park area and across the South of England through physical activity. 

We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across the South of England to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus. 

This unique role combines the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in a local context, delivering mission through sport activities and programmes, while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry across the South region. The ideal candidate will have equal passion and experience in both contexts. 

Key details: Employed by Scripture Union you will spend three days per week developing sports mission across London and the South. For two days per week, you will work on the Activate sports and wellbeing project working across the Bushy Park area.

Location: Home based with travel across London and the wider south region for SU & St Peter’s Church in West Molesey for Activate.

You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.

We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. We have recently developed some innovative new resources, aligned with the RJ framework, which the post holder will be involved in both delivering and equipping others to utilise. These include our flagship programme called Holy Ground which empowers churches to adopt a local sports space in their community to connect with the 95 in their context. Half Time is our brand new Explore-Respond resource which uses sports-themed videos and fun games to help the 95 to explore the life of Jesus by journeying through Mark’s Gospel. 

About Activate 

Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith.  Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms.  A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project. 

In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities.  The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes. 

About your team

With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. We’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years and believe that a vibrant sports ministry can contribute meaningfully to this.
