We have an exciting opportunity for an emerging lawyer with exceptional writing and communication skills and a passion for fighting corruption and injustice, to join our small and growing team as a Legal Fellow. 

This one-year fellowship offers a unique springboard for an aspiring barrister or solicitor through its combination of practical legal experience (encompassing commercial, public and criminal litigation) and specialist policy exposure in the fields of economic crime and corruption.

Who we are

Spotlight on Corruption is a UK-based charity, founded in September 2019, that shines a light on the UK’s role in corruption at home and abroad. We want to see a society with strong, transparent and accountable institutions which ensure corruption is not tolerated and democracy flourishes both in the UK and globally.

We track how the UK is implementing its anti-corruption laws and monitor the effectiveness of anti-corruption enforcement in the UK. We build the evidence base for reform through our unique court monitoring programme as well as investigative research and extensive engagement with experts and frontline practitioners. The successes of our legal work include intervening in a major Court of Appeal case to safeguard the UK’s anti-money laundering regime, supporting a challenge to reveal the identity of a major political donor in a dirty money case, and winning the right to publish the jury bundle in a high-profile trial about a corrupt arms deal. 

Acting as policy entrepreneurs, we develop innovative and pragmatic solutions and disseminate our work through hard-hitting reports and briefings to inform decision-makers and the general public. We follow through with dogged advocacy, working in a highly collaborative manner to build consensus for reform.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a recent law graduate or early career professional with an outstanding eye for detail, strong analytical and research skills, and demonstrable experience in writing and communicating persuasively.

Working closely with our tight-knit and dynamic team, you will help deliver our unique court monitoring programme by following major cases related to corruption and economic crime that are heard in the UK courts. This work will give you invaluable first-hand exposure to legal proceedings across a range of courts and tribunals in England and Wales – not only high-profile criminal prosecutions and asset recovery proceedings, but also major commercial litigation and other civil claims, as well as judicial review proceedings and regulatory enforcement action.

As the legal fellow, you will benefit from the mentorship of a leading barrister as well as other support when drafting court applications or submissions and scoping potential opportunities for strategic litigation that could advance Spotlight’s advocacy objectives. Working closely with the Deputy Director, you will also engage with other top lawyers who serve on Spotlight’s strategic litigation advisory board. In the course of this work, you will help build our relationships with the legal sector as well as strengthen our relationships with law enforcement agencies, civil servants, journalists, and civil society partners, particularly in the Global South.

Drawing on your close monitoring of court cases and engagement with law enforcement agencies, legal practitioners and other experts, you will contribute evidence-based research, briefings, blogs and commentary on core areas of our work. This will require forensic attention to detail, strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, and a flair for communicating complex issues in a compelling and accessible way. 

You will be confident working with complex legal materials and following court proceedings while showing enthusiastic, creative and strategic engagement with the broader policy issues arising from our casework. You will feel comfortable drafting briefings to inform parliamentarians and influence decision-makers as well as contributing blogs and rapid-response social media commentary on key developments to advance Spotlight’s key messages.

The successful applicant must be London based in order to attend court hearings and regular team meetings. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Checking court lists, attending court hearings and writing accessible, high-quality monitoring notes

• Assisting with the drafting of applications and representations to the court on open justice issues including access to court documents and reporting restrictions orders

• Developing case studies for our corruption cases database

• Drafting briefings, blogs, social media content and other outputs on legal developments and implications of cases

• Preparing and presenting briefings on the implications of cases and potential litigation opportunities

• Undertaking research and analysis on key cases and the facts behind them

• Developing and managing partnerships with civil society partners in the Global South on issues arising from court cases, including developing joint work with such partners.

Person Specification: Essential 

• Excellent degree in law or a non-law degree with a law conversion course (GDL/PGDL) 

• Superb written and verbal communication skills

• Strong skills in information-gathering, research, analysis and investigation with an exceptional eye for detail 

• Proven ability to prioritise and juggle multiple complex tasks

• Proven ability to work on own initiative while maintaining strong communication with team members

• Strong organisational and administrative skills including IT proficiency, and a rigorous approach to maintaining records

About the Role

You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Hackney borough community, within Family hub settings as well as in Homerton Hospital. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing breastfeeding support to families within family hubs settings within Hackney and on the wards at Homerton            hospital.

· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters. 

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding                 Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.  

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all          support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at family hubs setting across Hackney borough as well as in Homerton Hospital.

Ideal role for a company accountant / bookkeeper (must be at least AAT qualified) to manage the day-to-day accounts, as well as to contribute to the wider operations of this highly successful education provider that runs schools and teacher training using the Montessori approach.

Specifically, as Finance and Operations Officer, reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration (HoFA), your remit will include:

About the Role

We are excited to be expanding our community approach for care experienced children and young people at Become. We have created this new post and are looking for a creative, welcoming coordinator to help us grow and meet the needs of our community. The postholder will coordinate the welcome experience, the community space, and the communications with the group. As such you will need to have an eye for detail to make sure that we’re engaging a diverse group across all areas of England, be a great communicator across individual, small group and entire community communications, and be able to deliver on small projects working across Become’s teams. Although this role will be remote and there will be limited face-to-face time with young people, there will be direct communication so building safe and trusted relationships will be key.

Purpose of the Role  

To coordinate Imkaan’s engagement with parliamentary spaces, campaigns, and influencing work. You will build relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary committees, and government departments, track legislation and policy developments, and coordinate public campaigns to influence change. You will also work closely with Imkaan’s members to support grassroots mobilisation and bring frontline voices into national conversations. 

This is a strategic and creative role for someone with strong political instincts, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to justice for Black and Minoritised women and girls. 

 Key Responsibilities  

1) Campaign Strategy and Development 

• Support the design and delivery of evidence-based campaigns aligned with Imkaan’s strategic priorities. 

• Work with internal teams to craft campaign messages informed by research and sector data. 

• Develop and deliver campaigns that highlight the lived experiences and rights of Black and Minoritised women and girls 

• Work with the Communications Coordinator to create campaign messaging and digital content aligned with Imkaan’s values. Support the mobilisation of members and allies around key policy moments (e.g. consultations, votes, legislation) 

• Monitor impact of campaigns and contribute to cross-organisational reflection and learning. 

• Contribute to cross-organisational policy influencing strategy and calendar 

• Track political developments, maintain contact records and parliamentary timelines 

• Ensure alignment between parliamentary work and Imkaan’s wider research, policy, and membership activity. 

• Support the Policy and Research Manager and Executive Director with high-level influencing opportunities and responses. 

2) Policy and Parliamentary Engagement 

• Monitor UK parliamentary activity, including debates, inquiries, and relevant policy developments. 

• Prepare briefings, reports, and policy responses for government and parliamentary audiences. 

• Coordinate engagement with central/local government and VAWG coalitions. 

• Build and maintain relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary researchers, and civil servants 

• Track and respond to relevant legislation, debates, select committee work, and inquiries. 

• Coordinate Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement strategy, including briefings, evidence submissions, and event planning 

• Prepare Imkaan representatives and members for parliamentary meetings and public speaking engagements 

• Support high-impact events, including parliamentary roundtables, receptions, and cross-sector briefings. 

• Draft political content, including statements, open letters, and responses to emerging issues. 

• Support the leadership team and Board with communications materials, media briefings, and stakeholder messaging. 

• Identify and amplify stories and case studies for campaigns and public awareness. 

3) Membership and Sector Outreach 

• Disseminate Imkaan’s work and campaigns across the membership and wider VAWG sector. 

• Represent member interests within campaigns and coordinate cross-sector advocacy. 

• Support members to engage in political and public campaigning, including training, resources, and shared actions 

• Ensure campaigns reflect the priorities of frontline organisations and are shaped through regular consultation 

• Work collaboratively with partners and allies across the women’s, anti-racist, and human rights sectors.

• Evaluate campaign activities against strategic objectives and funder requirements. 

• Contribute to planning documents, project reports, and performance tracking systems. 

Person Specification 

Essential Experience 

• This post is open to Black and Minoritised women only as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 (Occupational Requirement). 

• Experience building strategic alliances and working with policymakers or media.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver campaigns or events involving multiple stakeholders.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our South regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 29 historic churches across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.

The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.

The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being. The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).

What you'll be doing

The Church of England seeks a committed and collaborative Safeguarding Policy Officer to join the National Safeguarding Team. This role is central to developing, revising, and implementing national safeguarding policies that protect and support all members of the Church community.

Working closely with Safeguarding Policy and Development Leads, you'll ensure policies are grounded in academic research, aligned with legislation and canon law, and informed by survivor experiences and Church-wide learning.

In this role, you will:

• Co-manage the development and roll-out of safeguarding policies, codes of practice and guidance
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including survivors, bishops, Diocesan Safeguarding Officers, and Church bodies
• Ensure policy relevance across dioceses, parishes, cathedrals, religious communities, and theological institutions
• Lead the coordination and improvement of the safeguarding e-manual
• Engage with NCIs departments to embed safeguarding policy into wider initiatives
• Support the NST's learning and review cycle to refine policies over time
• Represent survivor perspectives within policy, training, and quality assurance activities
• Provide briefings and respond to safeguarding queries from Church bodies
• Take ownership of non-legislative content creation related to safeguarding
