Business Development

Salary: Up to £30,809.83 per annum + £3,600 car allowance (mileage will also be paid)

Contract: Fixed term until 31st July 2026 with possibility of extension/made permanent

Responsibilities of our Regional Support Manager:

• Drive the efficient operation and performance of our Retail shops within the designated region, increasing income generation whilst setting the standard for Cats Protection retailing excellence.
• Provide inspirational leadership, tailored training, and hands-on operational support to Shop Managers and teams to achieve growth, improve standards, foster team engagement, and minimise loss.
• Provide shop coverage to ensure uninterrupted trading across the region, responding to challenges and maintaining business continuity at all times.
• Champion the Retail Performance Framework, supporting its effective implementation across the region to monitor and enhance performance.
• Act as a brand ambassador and role model for the charity’s values and behaviours, fostering a culture of compassion, teamwork, and innovation that aligns with our mission to help cats in need.

About the Retail & Trading team:   

• The Retail and Trading department sits within the Marketing and Income Generation Directorate and comprises a diverse shop estate of 79 shops across England, Scotland and Wales and a growing ecommerce operation.
• Our operation plays a key role in generating income and introducing audiences to Cats Protection.

What we’re looking for in our Regional Support Manager:

• Demonstrable experience in multi-site management within retail
• Proven ability in team management, including recruitment, training, and development of team members
• Experience with sales targets, cash management, loss prevention, and financial processes
• Previous project management experience and familiarity with policy implementation
• Knowledge of health & safety practices in Retail
• A full UK driving license and access to a car, with flexibility to travel throughout the week

About the Role 

As a UVW Organiser, you’ll join a dynamic team at the forefront of our mission to build power and solidarity in workplaces and communities through collective, legal, and direct action. 
 
Focused on Portuguese and Spanish-speaking migrant workers in low-paid sectors, this three-year, donor-funded role is central to UVW’s mission. You will advise, represent and organise workers to build collective power through strikes, direct actions and negotiation — to transform their workplace conditions from the ground up. 

• Essential: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese. 
• Highly Desirable: Previous experience in trade union or community organising. 

In this exciting role, you will work closely with the Community & Events Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver a community and events fundraising programme. You will lead on third-party/designated fundraising events and ensure all activities are within budget and meet key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a community and events fundraising programme to maximise supporter relationships and fundraising opportunities.
• Identify and implement fundraising activities to attract new supporters and increase long-term support.
• Lead on third-party/designated fundraising events and activities, ensuring they are delivered to agreed budgets and key performance indicators.
• Build long-term relationships with supporters and maximise opportunities for repeat fundraising.
• Represent Blesma at third-party, Blesma-led, and community-led fundraising events, providing on-the-day support as needed.
• Manage fundraising platforms for community and events fundraising.
• Support the development and promotion of all fundraising activities within the Fundraising Team.
• Maintain accurate records on Raisers Edge to agreed standards and timescales.

About You:

• Proven experience in achieving/exceeding targets in the not-for-profit or commercial sectors.
• Experience of working in a customer/supporter-focused environment.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
• Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and fundraising databases (Blesma uses Raisers Edge).
• Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
• A passion for Blesma’s cause and work.
• A team player with a confident manner; a professional, flexible, positive person.

This role delivers a range of dynamic and engaging financial education programmes to young people,adults, and professionals. As part of our Programmes and Delivery Directorate, our trainers love working with our participants; they’re the front line of our work, representing Money Ready’s exceptional programme quality in a range of settings.

This role will work with both children and adults across our programme suite and will require significant travel to our delivery locations throughout the area to deliver face-to-face sessions to diverse groups of learners. Occasional virtual sessions will also need to be delivered. All delivery-related travel is covered.

We are proud of the quality of trainers we hire, and we have a good mix of people, including former teachers and youth workers.

You will be joining an excellent team in South England who know their stuff, so there will be ample opportunity for you to learn and to provide feedback on where our programmes might improve. You do not need to be an existing expert on financial education; we will train you on everything you need to know.
