We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
About the role
The Fundraising Strategy & Operations Team deliver the Fundraising strategy and provide high quality operations to support the Fundraising Directorate. The team has a variety of different functions including Supporter Care, Strategic Liaison with Service teams, Compliance, Supporter Journeys and Communications as well as general administration. This role will be managing the Supporter Care team of three people.
About you
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a busy supporter care environment, working to tight deadlines
- Experience of writing donor correspondence and creating data capture guidance
- Proven experience of supporter care campaign management including creating clear processes and flow charts and managing, negotiating and liaising with suppliers.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage a variety of projects and activities to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to develop strong working relationships with external suppliers and internal departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and produce written documents to a high standard
What you’ll be doing

- Overseeing the Supporter Care team, leading and managing the vision of the team and ensuring that outstanding levels of service are provided to our supporters.
- Third party supplier management- point of contact for third party suppliers, advising on process from the Supporter Care prospective.
- Budget Management - managing the annual Supporter Care budget
- Contact Centre and Zendesk Management - providing proactive and responsive support to Fundraising teams to enhance fundraising efforts

Operations Director:
A new post at the Longford Trust, created at an exciting time of growth and development for the charity.
- A 3 day-a-week role;

New Horizon Youth Centre (NHYC) is commissioned by London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the VRU to deliver on their Violence and Exploitation Support Services (VESS). Context of Job
AFK is a national charity helping young disabled people develop their independence and find employment. As part of this we provide bespoke travel training on London’s public transport network to and from school, college and work placements in the North London area.
We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates to train and support young people to travel specified journeys safely and independently using public transport.
Overall Job Purpose
To train and support a young person to travel a specified journey safely and independently using public transport. Record your observations and give feedback to the travel training coordinator, the young person and their family. To take part in reviews of training as it progresses.
Working Conditions
- Casual working assignment with no minimum hours guaranteed
- Each assignment must be mutually agreed by both parties
- You will be expected to work mornings and/or evenings as required by the job and we will also consider job sharing for this role.
Responsibilities
- Support a young person door-to-door as they travel on public transport.
- Familiarise yourself with the following documents –
- Journey Plan – describes the route you and the trainee will follow, and the alternative route(s) if the need arises.
- Risk Assessment – outlines the support needs of the trainee, and risks and strategies to mitigate them.
- Record your observations using standardised forms and relay your observations to the travel training coordinator on a weekly basis.
- Allow the young person to learn independently and only guide, support or intervene when necessary (this will be included in your induction)
- Approach travel training in a positive manner by reinforcing achievements and viewing obstacles as opportunities to learn. Discuss strategies and agree solutions with the young person, their family and the travel training coordinator.
- To contact the travel training coordinator immediately if there are any emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Ensure that the young person is trained to use the alternative route safely and independently.
- Ensure that the young person learns and/or knows how to contact parents or carers in case of an emergency
- Any issues or concerns must be raised with the travel training coordinator or the business development manager.
Additional Responsibilities
- Learn the support needs of the young person prior to training
- Become familiar with the route
- Become familiar with and then follow AFK’s safeguarding policies and procedures

About you (essential):
- Experience supporting vulnerable families or carers in a community or statutory setting (Knowledge of policy, guidance and support available for Kinship carers highly desirable)
- Strong case management and organisational skills
- Ability to maintain high-quality case records and accurate data collection is critical
- Confident working with multi-agency professionals
- Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches
- Able to build trust and manage a varied caseload
- Professional, empathetic and resilient when supporting families.
What’s on offer:
- Based in Newham, East London (community-based with some remote working)
- Co-located within local authority hubs and spaces with some remote working and frequent community and home visits, and occasional travel to head office in London.
- 14 month Fixed Term contract (until to August 2027)

- £32,406 FTE (£25,924 pro rata).

We are looking for an experienced PR professional to develop and implement PR strategies that build the profile of the organisation and its brand with a focus on national consumer media activity - supporting the Charity's work across Brand Campaigns, Fundraising initiatives and National Services.
The role, working 21 hours per week, will also support the PR team's activity in general which spans the organisation's work and that of its subsidiaries, including Age International.

This is a hybrid role, a blend of home based and office working. The linked office is in the City of London, and you will be required to attend this office regularly for team meetings.
