Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service based in Haringey. This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to provide stroke recovery support following a stroke.

Position: S11275 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Haringey, however, regular travel will be required as part of this role within the service area (may include other travel in London and nationally to include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Salary: Circa £27,400 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

Reporting to the London Service Delivery Coach, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication. 

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community

• Provide personalised information, advice and support

• Supporting stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes

• Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke

About You

You will have:

• Experience / background in a caring profession, ideally supporting people with disabilities

• Excellent IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records

• An affinity with the values of the Association

• A flexible approach and the ability to effectively manage a caseload

This role requires regular travel across Haringey and to visit people at home and in community settings. There will be also be occasional travel to other parts of London and nationally to attend team meetings and other work commitments. The Casework and Research Manager will lead Humanists International's efforts in supporting Humanists at Risk through strategic engagement, research, and the management of key publications, particularly the Freedom of Thought Report. Are you an experienced paid digital expert who is also passionate about nature? We're looking for someone to join our membership marketing team and deliver income-generating recruitment campaigns.

You will have proven expertise of managing the delivery of paid search, social and display advertising using a range of targeting techniques including macro demographic and internet-based targeting, as well as micro audience segmentation-based targeting and re targeting techniques. You will manage the media agency at delivery level to ensure this activity is planned and monitored closely and optimised regularly to maximise impact and ROI.

You will also work alongside direct marketing managers to integrate with paid offline and DM/EM campaigns and with the website team to optimise conversion across the join journey.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience in planning and running effective digital advertising campaigns across PPC, Paid Social and Display

Since last year, we have been gradually launching our new Excellence Network regional clinical lead roles across England as part of our new regional model in England. We're now recruiting for the final regional clinical lead in England to lead their regional network in London.

In September 2024, the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN) moved to a new regional model in England and introduced the 7 newly-formed PEN regions in England, with the boundaries aligned to the 7 NHS England regions. Click here to read more about the new model.

The regional model in the devolved nations remains the same: there are 3 regions in Scotland, 2 in Wales and 1 region in Northern Ireland.

Last year we began gradually recruiting the consultancy services of regional clinical leads in each of the 7 regions in England, to help us deliver this new model.

The ADSHG is a well-established UK charity supporting people with Addison’s and adrenal insufficiency through its website, social media reach and member services.   Addison’s disease is a form of adrenal insufficiency and is a rare endocrine condition affecting 1:10,000, and both genders. Whilst treatable with time-critical daily medication, individuals with adrenal insufficiency are at risk of potentially life-threatening adrenal crisis, which occurs when physical or emotional triggers mean that prescribed medication no longer meets the body’s need for cortisol.  Adrenal crisis is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated in a short period of time.  Addison's and adrenal insufficiency are not widely understood, even within the medical community.

Our social media reach has grown steadily over the years, and, thanks to thoughtful content promoting audience engagement, it currently stands at a reach of over 31,000 across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X and with a growing reach on BlueSky.   Our audience consists of our members and non-members with a diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency, their carers and supporters, and healthcare professionals.

We use Loomly to help organise and schedule our posts, aiming to post at least 3 times a week.  Our community respond particularly well to both educational and emotive topics, but we aim to keep a good diversity between the focus of posts, and will include fundraising, news, updates, shop alerts, educational articles, member information etc. 

Our social media links our community back to our website for more information as well as signposting out to other organisations as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement our social media strategies to increase awareness and engagement 

• Collaborate with the Communications and Health Liaison Manager to create, schedule, and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, Bluesky, and LinkedIn 

• Use Canva to design visually appealing graphics in line with our brand guidelines 

• Schedule posts via Loomly 

• Create short reels or video clips to enhance engagement 

• Monitor and respond to comments and messages with patience, empathy, and clear language 

• Analyse social media metrics and provide regular reports on performance 

• Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices 

• Collaborate with the Communications and Health Liaison Manager to ensure consistent messaging and branding 

Requirements

• Proven experience in social media management 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to create short reels or video clips 

• Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences 

• Confidence in using Canva for content creation

About you

Myeloma UK is looking for a motivated and pro-active Policy Officer to join our Patient Advocacy team within the wider Research and Advocacy directorate.  You will have experience of analysing, developing, and communicating policy issues, excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to present findings and recommendations to a range of audiences.  The post holder will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

The successful candidate will be a highly regarded ambassador for Myeloma UK with a desire to continuously improve and to make a difference while working flexibility and using their own initiative.

Experience of public/patient engagement work, participating in government policy consultations and patient advocacy campaign work would be beneficial but not essential.

About the role

As the Policy Officer you will be part of the Patient Advocacy team who work to ensure that the patient voice is heard and acted upon by UK and devolved nations healthcare policy decision makers. You will support Myeloma UK’s ambition to deliver personalised medicine, such that every person living with and affected by myeloma and associated conditions has access to the best diagnostics, treatment and care services and quality of life experience.

Your role is vital to developing strategic approaches to UK health policy legislation and consultations to ensure that UK government and devolved nations healthcare policy supports the needs of people living with and affected by myeloma and associated conditions. 

You will support the Policy Manager to assess existing healthcare policies, regulations and legislation to understand their implications for myeloma-specific healthcare systems, providers and patients
