AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager (RCM) to join the North West of England Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

About the role

You will be part of the regional office team, managing a group of casework administrators. The team provides specialist administrative support and act as a single point of contact to SSAFA branch-based volunteers ensuring that SSAFA beneficiaries receive consistent, timely, and high-quality service. The RCM role will involve developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  Additionally, the RCM will occasionally assist the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and triaging initial client enquiries.

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working closely with a dedicated team under the guidance of the Regional Manager.

The position is home-based, but you will occasionally be required to travel within the North West Region or to other locations.

About the team

The regional office is a “virtual” office and supports the six SSAFA branches in the North West of England region, as the branch-based volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries.  The successful candidate will work as part of a larger support team which will include 5 Casework Administrators and a Regional Manager.  All team members are home based, residing in the region.

About you

To excel in this role, you should have a solid educational background and experience in managing employees, as well as overseeing and reporting on service delivery.  You should have a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be advantageous.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of learning a computerised case management system quickly. Additionally, you should be skilled with numerical data.

The successful candidate will be capable of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision and have considerable experience of managing accounts.

It would be desirable to have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. About the Role

We are looking for a Part Time Training Support Assistant with strong organisational and administrative skills.

The Training Support Assistant will be part of Become’s Training Team who provide courses for professionals who work alongside care-experienced young people. Clients include local authorities, fostering agencies, supported accommodation providers, universities etc.

The team is currently made up of the Head of Training & Development, a full time and a part time Training Officer and a part time Training Support Assistant and we are expanding to provide full time coverage of the assistant role. The two members of the Training Support Assistant Team will work closely alongside one another in order to provide administrative support for the wider Training Team. Collectively the Assistants will be responsible for tasks relating to the coordination and promotion of Become’s training and consultancy offer.

The role involves significant liaison with external client organisations to ensure a smooth client journey and internal liaison with Become’s Accounts Team and the Communications Team.

Key tasks will include (but not limited to):

• overseeing invoicing processes including completing supplier set up forms with client organisations, requesting purchase order numbers, liaising with our accounts team to raise invoices, monitoring payments
• co-ordinating online bookings (using the Eventbrite booking platform where necessary)
• sourcing venues and liaison with venues for in-person events
• registering learners on our accredited courses
• creating and distributing handouts

This is a part-time role (21 hours per week). We ask that you’re available on Thursdays and Fridays, but beyond that, we’re happy to discuss a working pattern that fits well with your life and commitments.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home. In-person attendance at some meetings will be expected approximately once every two months, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. This would be agreed on a monthly basis with the manager. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. About the Role

We are looking for a Part Time Training Support Assistant with strong organisational and administrative skills.

The Training Support Assistant will be part of Become’s Training Team who provide courses for professionals who work alongside care-experienced young people. Clients include local authorities, fostering agencies, supported accommodation providers, universities etc.

The team is currently made up of the Head of Training & Development, a full time and a part time Training Officer and a part time Training Support Assistant and we are expanding to provide full time coverage of the assistant role. The two members of the Training Support Assistant Team will work closely alongside one another in order to provide administrative support for the wider Training Team. Collectively the Assistants will be responsible for tasks relating to the coordination and promotion of Become’s training and consultancy offer.

The role involves significant liaison with external client organisations to ensure a smooth client journey and internal liaison with Become’s Accounts Team and the Communications Team.

About the opportunity
As Head of Impact & Quality, you’ll lead the department that covers impact measurement, evaluation of our programmes, data management, curriculum development, training and quality of tutors and other initiatives that drive the evidence-based culture of Action Tutoring. With a strong understanding of the charity's theory of change, you’ll strengthen existing impact and quality processes and make strategic recommendations that develop these further. You’ll play a vital role in helping the Senior Management Team balance quality and quantity with sustainable business decisions. As well as leading the department, you’ll build external networks and represent the charity externally at relevant events, in person and online. As Action Tutoring begins planning for a new strategic cycle, you’ll design, evaluate and advise on the scale up of pilots in new ways of achieving our mission.

Duties and responsibilities
 
People and Cultural Leadership 

• You’ll manage the workload distribution across the Impact & Quality department functions and teams, ensuring that projects are delivered according to strategic priorities. 
• You’ll line-manage a small team of managers who have responsibilities for curriculum, training, quality, insights and data management activities across the department.

 
Strategic and Senior Management 

• You’ll contribute to Senior Management Team discussions and decisions, representing the impact and quality functions, ensuring all decisions consider the implications on our evidence base, protecting the drivers of impact and maintaining our reputation as a sector-leading impact organisation.

Impact and quality oversight

• Leadership and oversight to ensure continued smooth implementation of a Randomised Control Trial lasting the first 6-9 months of this role. 
• You’ll be accountable for the development and implementation of the Impact Strategy of the organisation.

Qualifications criteria:

The ME Association is dedicated to supporting people affected by ME/ CFS (Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). We fund biomedical research, campaign for change and provide a wide range of support services to help those with ME/CFS.

As Fundraising Officer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding to help people with ME/ CFS.  You can make a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives.

• has experience of fundraising ideally in community or challenge event fundraising

• Providing a high standard of stewardship for supporters, nurturing existing supporters, thanking donors, and supporting charity events, such as our supporter reception.

• Developing and promoting the challenge events portfolio.
• Keeping the fundraising pages updated, helping to design and produce fundraising materials (flyers and fundraising packs). 
• You will be working closely with the Fundraising and Development Manager and will be required to support the wider Communications team where needed with additional fundraising activities.

This position is home-based with occasional travel for fundraising events.

Initially a 12 month contract, but with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

A driving license isn’t essential.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events.

The successful candidate will be IT literate, an excellent communicator, highly organised with a strong attention to detail.

A background in fundraising is required, although this could be from intern or voluntary work.  An understanding of ME/CFS is desirable.

Stewardship

• Monitoring the fundraising inbox, acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of supporters and enquirers.
• Developing individual giving income through enhanced communications, great stewardship and supporting on fundraising appeals.
• Nurturing our regular givers and looking for ways to grow our regular-giving donor base.
• Completing thanking processes efficiently for donations.
• Developing and managing tools and resources to support fundraising events such as sending out t-shirts, posters, flyers, donation boxes and fundraising packs when requested.
• Liaising with the communications team to create promotional materials to advertise events through the website and social media channels to increase engagement.

Administration

• Keeping accurate records of all prospect and supporter interactions on our CRM system, Raisers Edge NXT.
• Optimising fundraising and donation opportunities at key charity events, researching and recording information.
• Supporting the Fundraising and Development Manager as and when needed.
• Working with colleagues across, communications and services teams to ensure a smooth flow of information to support fundraising promotion and engagement.
