Responsibilities of our Advocacy & Government Relations Officer - Westminster: 

- Support engagement with MPs, Government departments and key external stakeholders to influence policy and advocacy outcomes 

- Monitor parliamentary activity, legislation and policy developments, identifying risks and opportunities affecting cat welfare 

- Draft briefings, consultation responses, position statements and advocacy materials to support campaigning objectives 

- Conduct research and evidence gathering to inform policy development and charity campaigns 

- Develop strategic messaging and responses to legislative, regulatory and reputational issues 

- Coordinate and deliver Westminster-based events and stakeholder engagement activities 

- Work closely with teams such as Media, Digital and Web to maximise campaign impact

About the Advocacy team: 

The Advocacy & Government Relations team leads the charity in influencing decision-makers and those whose policies, practices and decisions affect cat welfare across the UK. The small, highly motivated team works to influence legislators (national and devolved governments), professional organisations and corporates. The team has successfully influenced the law on microchipping, pet theft and commercial kitten sales in England and worked with the Scottish Government to regulate cat breeding and rehoming activities. The team also runs digital campaigns as part of its strategy. 

What we’re looking for in our Advocacy & Government Relations Officer - Westminster: 

- Experience of advocacy, public affairs or influencing work, ideally in Westminster

- Experience of policy work and research

- Experience of dealing with high profile/ VIP individuals e.g. Ministers, MPs, MSPs, MLAs, MPs, Government Officials, Local Councillors and officers, etc. 

- Proven ability to multi-task and work independently on own initiative, accurately and under pressure

- Experience of effective use of social media and the internet in an advocacy/campaign context

- A confident communicator with good written and oral skills; and great people skills

We are looking for a Supporter Engagement Manager to drive growth in the Individual Giving programme through a mix of acquisition and retention campaigns.

The Charity

The Role:
With support from the Head of Supporter Engagement and the SE Officer, you would develop and deliver the annual Individual Giving programme including acquisition and retention activities.

With support, produce annual Individual Giving budgets and monitor performance against agreed targets on a rolling basis.

Technical Project Manager – Sports Facilities and Infrastructure

£42,000 - £50,000 per annum dependant on relevant skills and experience.

As a Technical Project Manager, you'll lead the technical delivery of a portfolio of capital sports infrastructure projects, supporting applicants from the earliest design stages through procurement, construction and project completion.

Managing an annual portfolio of projects, you'll work closely with local authorities, football clubs, schools, consultants and contractors to ensure facilities are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards. You'll also provide expert technical advice to support funding decisions, undertake site inspections, assess construction risks, oversee grant payments and help protect the Foundation's investment.

This is an autonomous, varied role that combines technical expertise with relationship management and project leadership.

We're looking for someone with experience of delivering construction projects from inception through to completion, who enjoys working collaboratively and solving complex technical challenges.

You'll have a degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline, together with experience managing construction or capital projects from design through to completion. You'll possess excellent project management and communication skills, along with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use. Experience of sports facilities, community infrastructure or sustainable construction would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Support & Impact Manager

12 month fixed-term contract - Must be available to start October 2026.

£40,000 - £46,000 per annum dependant on relevant skills and experience.

Location – Home-based with regular travel across a designated region and to our office as required. This role will cover a region comprising East Riding, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and Sheffield & Hallamshire. The role requires regular travel across this geographical area, and successful candidates must be able to travel throughout the region as required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

As Support & Impact Manager, you'll work with organisations after funding has been awarded, helping them successfully deliver projects, comply with grant conditions and maximise the long-term impact of their investment.

You'll build trusted relationships with grant recipients and partners, providing expert advice, guidance and constructive challenge throughout the lifecycle of funded projects. You'll monitor performance, analyse project data, support organisations to overcome challenges, and ensure outcomes are evidenced to demonstrate the value of our investment and protect Funding Partner resources.

This is a varied role combining relationship management, performance monitoring, compliance, data analysis and continuous improvement, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across England.

Delivery Manager

£40,000 - £46,000 per annum dependant on relevant skills and experience.

You'll oversee community engagement, assess project feasibility, prepare funding recommendations and work alongside our Technical Project Managers to ensure projects are strategically aligned, financially viable and ready for successful delivery. Who we are: Brake is the national, acclaimed charity delivering the National Road Victim Service, a specialist, accredited, UK-wide support service for road victims, delivering case-managed care for anyone who has been bereaved or seriously injured in a road crash or who is supporting a road crash victim.

You will provide a specialist trauma-informed and bereavement-informed approach to care, helping individuals and families navigate the immediate and long-term impact of sudden loss or catastrophic injury. You will undertake a comprehensive needs, risk and safety assessment from which a bespoke support plan will be agreed with the person and/or families, ensuring that immediate wellbeing needs, vulnerabilities and safeguarding considerations are identified and addressed.
