We are looking for a Research Officer to join our Campaigns, Policy and Research directorate.

This busy team uses evidence to raise the profile of issues affecting the Armed Forces community and influences politicians, officials, and the wider sector to improve policy and service delivery.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about turning research into meaningful impact. You will play a key role in articulating the value and outcomes of our work, confidently communicating its significance to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to our Research Manager, some key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects, from scoping and commissioning through to analysis, reporting, and dissemination.
• Generate actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategy, policy, campaigns, and service improvement.
• Embed evidence and lived experience across the organisation, ensuring research findings shape decision-making and practical delivery.
• Monitor emerging research and sector developments, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities to strengthen understanding of the Armed Forces community.
• Translate complex findings into clear, engaging outputs (briefings, reports, presentations, digital content) tailored to diverse audiences.
• Build and manage strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing the organisation and championing evidence-led practice.

About the Role

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join Arthritis Action at a pivotal time as we are in the process of developing our 2027-2030 strategy. TLC: Talk, Listen, Change is a dynamic, leading relationships charity based in Greater Manchester and we are looking for a Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker (Thriving Families), to deliver tailored perpetrator interventions within a multi-disciplinary team.

The role
This role will work collaboratively within Manchester City Council’s multi-disciplinary Thriving Families Team, to support families where children are open to Child Protection or Child In Need Plans. The Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker will engage directly with adults responsible for causing harm, aiming to increase perpetrator accountability and encourage positive change. Through one-on-one tailored interventions, the goal is to reduce risk to both victims and children, while enhancing the perpetrator's willingness to alter harmful behaviours.  The Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker will work collaboratively with the Thriving Families Team and other agencies, ensuring a multi-agency, whole family approach. Additionally, the worker liaises with victim/survivor services to assess risks, formulate safety plans to secure better outcomes for those impacted by domestic abuse.

About you

You’ll be confident in delivering direct work with those who use harm. This will include completing comprehensive assessments of risk and need to deliver tailored interventions. You’ll have direct experience of working therapeutically with a client group and be confident in addressing challenging and harmful behaviour. You will have experience of safeguarding processes and multi-agency working.

Above all you will have the ability to build positive relationships with difficult to engage client groups, and you’ll bring a positive, solution focus attitude. We’d also love to hear from applicants who are fluent in speaking an additional language.

Last year, our swimmers raised over £1m. This year we’ve sold out events in minutes and want to double the fundraising. We’re on the path to exponential growth and we need someone who can help us get there.

We're Level Water, a founder-led charity solving learn-to-swim for disabled children. We're not your typical charity. We own our events and run them like a business. We move fast, test everything, and we're building something that doesn't exist anywhere else. Our events are uniquely profitable, and we reinvest in quality and growth. 

We've just brought in a new Fundraising Director, and this Marketing role is a cornerstone of the team we're building. If you want to help define how a modern charity grows and does marketing, this is your chance.

Drive growth marketing that converts

• Own end-to-end marketing for our events portfolio: from launch campaigns to sell-out.

• Build and execute multi-channel campaigns across social, email, paid ads, PR, partnerships, and whatever else works.

• Test everything. Audiences, messages, creative, channels. Find what works, double down, and scale it.

• Use data to spot opportunities: which channels are converting? Where are we leaving growth on the table? What could we do differently?

• Manage our digital advertising and paid social strategy with a ruthless focus on ROI.

• Grow our email database and social audiences with intent, not just for vanity metrics.

• Be trusted to repeatedly turn £1 into £5 or £10. 

• Define and unleash our audiences: help them share their stories in a way that turns experiences into future sales, and makes everything that Level Water does easier.

• Build and manage our captain and ambassador programmes as genuine growth engines - nurturing relationships, setting expectations, and turning influence into measurable impact.

• Proactively convert interest into action. This includes direct outreach (e.g. picking up the phone to captains, engaging top fundraisers, activating ambassadors) to ensure intent turns into ticket sales and fundraising.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to drive and deliver our global communications strategy and maintain momentum across our target regions during a period of parental leave. This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about improving global health and climate outcomes, enjoys activating a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve communications objectives and can support and motivate colleagues to deliver impactful work across different time zones.

Selection criteria

Essential:

• Experience designing and implementing successful communications strategies  that support the delivery of positive social, corporate or political change. We imagine the ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience, but we are open to consider candidates with less experience who possess the required skills. 

• A high level of strategic thinking and an understanding of how to leverage different campaigning approaches to achieve objectives, including community organising and knowledge brokering

• The ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling and nuanced messaging 

• A proven track record of crafting and landing compelling stories in high-impact media that advance campaign objectives

• Existing relationships with journalists in at least one relevant media area, such as news, health, sustainability or food

• Experience managing communications teams in a collaborative and effective way, and a willingness to support colleagues from other teams to develop relevant skills

The Team Leader – Support at Home is responsible for the operational leadership, performance management, and development of two distinct but connected services:

• Home Help Service, a person-centred, income-generating support service focused on enabling independence and reducing isolation.
• Handyperson Service, a practical support service delivered under local authority contract arrangements, requiring structured performance monitoring, compliance reporting, and contract accountability.

• Oversee retention initiatives, including member journeys and communications

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience of working within the not-for-profit and/or charity sector

• Significant experience of membership marketing and developing member stewardship and engagement communications

• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead dispersed project teams, create compelling updates and reports and influence senior colleagues to support membership priorities and initiatives.

• Ability to work with and co-produce with communities across a complex and dispersed organisation 

• Proven track record in developing and managing high performing teams

About the Role

This is a key frontline role within a driven and collaborative Fundraising and Communications team. You will play an essential part in delivering excellent supporter care, managing fundraising systems and strengthening engagement across the charity’s growing supporter base.

Working closely with the Supporter Engagement and Fundraising Manager, you will help deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy, ensuring supporters receive a positive, consistent and engaging experience at every touchpoint.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the first point of contact for supporter enquiries via phone, email and post
• Managing the fundraising inbox and responding to requests from individuals and organisations
• Processing and recording donations accurately, including Gift Aid compliance
• Supporting personalised acknowledgement and stewardship of donors
• Maintaining and updating the CRM system, including The Raiser’s Edge
• Producing reports and supporting fundraising appeals through data segmentation and analysis
• Supporting individual fundraisers and challenge events participants
• Assisting with fundraising campaigns, appeals and donor events
• Contributing to the production of fundraising and marketing materials
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems and automate processes

You will also support the wider day to day operations of the Fundraising and Communications function, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

About You

You will be confident working with data and CRM systems and motivated by delivering excellent supporter experiences.

You will bring:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in fundraising, events, business development or supporter care
• Experience of working with a donor database, ideally The Raiser’s Edge
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
• A proactive and positive approach
• The ability to work collaboratively within a small team
