The Talent Set is thrilled to be partnering with Elephant Family, a part of The British Asian Trust, a bold and innovative conservation charity that protects Asia’s iconic wildlife through joyful and creative campaigns. We are looking for a driven and strategic Fundraising Manager to join on a maternity cover basis, helping to secure the vital resources that allow Elephant Family to thrive. In this maternity cover role, you will be central to Elephant Family’s fundraising efforts, developing and nurturing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and event sponsors. You will create compelling opportunities for supporters to engage with the charity, helping to grow income streams and ensure financial sustainability. You will also support the delivery of high-profile events and manage associated data and reporting to provide a seamless and professional supporter experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with current and prospective donors and corporate partners. 
• Identify opportunities to grow giving, both individually and corporately, through personalised engagement strategies. 
• Create compelling proposals and presentations, aligning donor priorities with the charity’s funding needs. 
• Support the planning and execution of key fundraising events, including managing sponsors, guests, and event logistics. 
• Deliver effective stewardship to ensure donors feel valued, informed, and engaged with Elephant Family’s mission. 
• Track and report on fundraising progress, pipeline activity, and budgets, maintaining accurate donor records in Salesforce. 
• Collaborate across teams to ensure fundraising priorities are integrated into organisational strategy. 
• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with internal policies, legal requirements, and best practice standards.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience securing significant gifts from high-net-worth individuals and corporates. 
• Track record of managing and growing a portfolio of major donors, delivering ambitious targets. 
• Strong experience in event-related fundraising, including sponsorship management. 
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills. 
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure. 
• Proficiency with fundraising databases and creating high-quality proposals and presentations.

mary Duties and Responsibilities

• Legal Strategy: Collaborate with our Executive Director to develop and implement effective legal strategies to advance our objectives. Conduct research and analysis to identify key issues and tactics to drive impactful change.

• Supervise: Supervise the legal caseworkers in their legal strategy and research. 

• Advocacy opportunities: Communicate legal strategy with the Advocacy and Communications Officer to ensure opportunities to advocate and communicate are not missed. 

• Public Relations: Represent The Animal Law Foundation at events, conferences, and public forums to raise awareness of animal law and policy issues. Collaborate with partner organisations and stakeholders to amplify our legal strategy and build strategic alliances.

• Project Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of legal initiatives. Analyse data and feedback to inform future strategies and improve outcomes.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including lawmakers, government agencies, NGOs, and the public, to build support for our objectives. Coordinate advocacy efforts, coalition-building, and public consultations.

What does The Animal Law Foundation do? 

The Animal Law Foundation was registered with the Charity Commission in August 2022. It is primarily a legal research charity that looks into neglected areas of animal law and where appropriate will instruct lawyers to bring legal challenges to secure any systems in place to protect animals function as they should.

Groups like this exist in the environmental and the human rights space in the UK and in the animal protection space in other countries. There is a desperate need for such work to exist for animals in the UK. 

The UK still has some of the best animal welfare laws in the world, yet the opportunity for vast change contained within these laws is rarely explored. Through exploring these opportunities the whole system for animals can be improved and set global examples. 

It is of vital importance that laws that exist to protect animals are understood and applied. The Animal Law Foundation will work alongside stakeholders to ensure that this happens.

RABI supports farming people across England, Wales and NI with expert, one-to-one practical, financial and emotional help, all year round. From confidential advice and mental health support to direct financial assistance, their tailored services respond to the unique challenges of farming life.

Over the past 25 years alone, RABI has delivered almost £250 Million in direct financial support to the farming community, whilst the charity’s professional counselling service has provided 11,500 free sessions to farming people since 2022. Key Purpose:

To work as part of a team that provide high quality casework and grant applications to farming people that come to RABI for support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality information, advice and guidance in an empathetic and professional manner.

We are looking for a part-time (22.5 hours per week) social media officer to ensure our community is engaged and interacted with through our multiple social media channels. The role is focused on the creation of engaging content for our social media channels, including Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, as well as monitoring these channels and engaging with our followers. You will be involved in the major Veganuary campaign, inspiring and supporting people to try a vegan diet – better for animals, better for the planet, and better for our health. 

This is a fixed term contract until 28 February 2026. 

We need someone available to cover the following hours:

• Monday (9.00 to 5.30)
• Friday (9.00 to 5.30)
• Sunday (half a day worked at any time)
• A further half day to be worked on any day that suits.

The Role

This is not your average 9-5.

Each day you’ll:

· Use your company van (with fuel and parking covered) to travel to venues in your area.

· Set up an eye-catching, informative fundraising stand.

· Engage members of the public in meaningful conversations about conservation.

· Inspire them to become RSPB members through regular direct debit support.

About You

What we need from you:

· A passion for people and a belief in the power of conservation (we’ll teach you the rest!)

· Confidence speaking to strangers and working towards clear targets.

· A full UK driving licence.

· Availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends.

· Willingness to travel up to an hour from home.

· Comfortable working outdoors and often alone.

· Fundraising, sales, or customer service experience is a bonus - but not essential.

Please note, you will be required to travel to the HQ in Sandy, Bedfordshire during your induction which will start on the 6th of October 2025 and you will be required to travel to our HQ from the 13th - 16th of October.
