Domestic Abuse Officer

Location: Waltham Forest/London

We are now looking for an experience Domestic Abuse Officer to provide an effective, efficient, and supportive service to women who are victims of domestic abuse providing emotional, practical and welfare support. As our Domestic Abuse Officer, you will provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG in either 1:1 or group settings delivering a service to those at medium and low risk.

As a Domestic Abuse Officer, your responsibilities will be:

· To work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.

· To ensure that women are enabled to access their rights and are informed about their options.

· To reach out to survivors of domestic abuse and raise awareness of domestic abuse and local services offered.

· To support and implement the aims and objectives of Young Ladies Club ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with Young Ladies Club policies and procedures.

· To facilitate or co-facilitate the support groups

· To facilitate the provision of culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and counselling services.

Required Skills and Experience:

· Demonstrable qualifications and/or experience in the field of domestic violence accommodation and support.

· An excellent working knowledge of key issues faced by black and minoritised women who have experienced Domestic Abuse and VAWG. Able to apply this knowledge at a practical level.

· Experience of identifying and responding to the risks to and needs of survivors of domestic

violence

· Experience of working with vulnerable women at least some of which are women or girls affected by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.

Campaign for Better Transport is the leading national charity championing the need for integrated, sustainable and affordable transport. This role will play a significant part in our Policy and Research team and will be responsible for developing and evidencing our policy work to underpin our campaigning, influencing and communications.

Schools’ Project Officer (4-5 days per week; 10 months contract with opportunity for renewal)

The job
This is a fantastic opportunity to join this fast-growing charity at a pivotal time, and make significant impact as our grass-roots Schools’ Project Officer. You will be visiting schools, explaining about what we do at assemblies and going for follow up sessions, and then giving email feedback to applications.

We are a small lively charity promoting the personal development of year 12s in partner schools, through challenging activities that they design, plan and finally undertake adult-free. We invite students (individually or in groups) to develop their own challenges well outside their ‘comfort zones’, and to be responsible for every stage of the process. We help them plan and manage risk, and give them expenses funding. Our award winners have climbed the highest UK peaks, cycled to Paris, performed plays at school, harnessed green power via a bike, among many other imaginative and ambitious projects.   

Who we are looking for
We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate for our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s in our 85 partner London state schools (20% of the total).  There is scope to help shape our strategy. We are looking for competent project officer, ideally with experience of physical challenge, strong administrative skills and with strong writing skills: they will be comfortable working with students, and value personal challenge and development. Job purpose:
Alongside the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will provide business partnering by build relationships with SMT, managers and their teams, providing them with financial insights, reporting and analysis that enable them to make informed decisions. The post holder will champion and drive automation, enabling the effective and efficient running of the finance function.

The post holder will be a part-qualified/newly qualified accounting professional with experience of working in a not-for-profit setting. This role is based at our head office in 21 Portland Place, London. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.

Key responsibilities:

Financial management and reporting

• Prepare monthly management accounts and cash flows for the Head of Finance to review.
• Prepare year-end schedules and other supporting documents for submission to external auditors as set out in annual audit plan and support the Head of Finance with responding to auditor queries.

About the roles:

These roles offer flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London as required. You will work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some evening and weekend working on occasion dependent upon client need.

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Supervisor to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.

As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.

This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have significant retail or customer service experience alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be seeking a challenge that stands out from other retail roles and will be looking to build a career in this sector. As Communications and Administration Officer, working within a team of three staff and about six volunteers, this role offers a broad range of roles and experience within a dynamic human rights charity.

Ivy Rock Partners are supporting an international sustainability-focused not-for-profit organisation in their recruitment for a Global Financial Controller for a 10 month FTC.

This is a pivotal role leading the financial control and statutory reporting across multiple geographies. You’ll oversee a small, high-performing finance team, ensuring robust controls, compliance with international standards, and accurate, timely reporting.

As a trusted partner to the senior leadership team, you’ll provide strong financial stewardship, manage global audits, and drive improvements in systems and processes. You’ll also ensure that all statutory entities are fully compliant, while safeguarding the organisation’s resources to further its mission.

The role can be offered on a four-day-per-week basis if preferred, and while the office is based in London, remote working is supported with occasional travel to the London office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and oversight of robust financial controls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and prevention of errors or fraud.

• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Accounting functions across multiple countries.

• Oversee payroll and intercompany balances, ensuring efficient cash management and minimisation of FX risk.

What You’ll Bring

• A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, FCA or equivalent).

Do you want to work with multiple-award winning charity, FoodCycle? Our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community – including our school communities!​

We’ve partnered with 4 schools across London to bring our free community meal to their families after school hours, with the additional goal of helping connect families with each other and the school and introducing kids to new healthy food.​

We’re looking for some additional help over the next 6 months to support the volunteer teams on site and make these meals happen. You’ll need to have an interest and experience in working with kids and families!​

By joining us you’ll gain an understanding of different aspects of local project delivery for a national charity. You’ll be hands-on and have an immediate impact each day, leading small teams of volunteers who cook in the kitchen and host our guests to create a positive and welcoming environment and a nutritious vegetarian meal.​

Our school meals happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and we would ideally like you to work your hours across these three afternoons/evenings. You’ll be supporting 2 meals per week on average, with around 5 hours required per meal. That leaves 5 additional hours to join team meetings and complete other duties.​

You’ll be supported by our experienced operational team, and we will equip you with a package of training and shadowing, including specific training around food safety, safeguarding and working within the lively environment of schools!​

Benefits: We offer 26.5 days holiday plus bank holidays for full-time employees (pro-rata for part-time). Our healthcare package allows staff to claim money back on healthcare bills and includes access to telephone counselling and online GP appointments.​
