�� About the Role

You’ll join our cross-functional Product & Engineering team to build and improve the digital platforms that teachers and pupils rely on every day. Working closely with product managers, designers, researchers, and curriculum specialists to ensure our products are high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly.

This is a hands-on role focused on validating features from a user perspective, refining definitions through a QA lens, and exploratory testing across our digital platforms. You'll also help champion a culture of quality and contribute to Oak’s values and wider success.

• Validating product behaviour of new features from a user perspective and improving feature definitions by providing a QA perspective.

• Communicating and promoting quality as a culture across the engineering, design and product functions.

• Knowledge of testing web or mobile based applications, including exploratory testing, triaging bug reports, identifying common threads in multiple bug reports, and creating well-structure bug reports with appropriate evidence and steps to reproduce.

• An understanding of accessibility concerns for web applications, and how to assess them.

• The ability to design tests and work without test scripts or formal specifications.

• Familiarity with agile processes such as user stories, acceptance criteria and working in sprints with colleagues from other teams.

Key objectives and responsibilities

• Be primarily responsible for researching and writing, prioritising, developing and submitting compelling proposals, updates and reports to trust donors.
• Maximise income by building and maintaining relationships with existing portfolio of trust donors through excellent relationship management.
• Use the database (Access Charity CRM) to maintain accurate and detailed records, manage relationships, and coordinate actions and deadlines.
• Research and identify new opportunities, and write and submit high quality, targeted proposals to secure support from new and lapsed funders.
• Prepare written reports on activities, progress and income against objectives.
• Ensure the impact of our work is clear, visible and effectively communicated in our social media, on our website and in our Impact Report.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to help us realise our plans to secure a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 175+ member library services can choose to benefit from, according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

Our Commercial Team

Currently we hold a single commercial contract worth around £3m per year delivered through 12 libraries. Our aim is to reach a point where we have a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 175+ member library services can choose to benefit from according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

In the current funding climate for local authorities and local government services, these contracts are not just about the income and the services they can provide, but about demonstrating nationally the power of the library sector, and how national services can be delivered locally through library services and the communities they serve.

This is a long term aim of ours – we are seeking to build the commercial team with this role and while it is initially a 12 month contract, our hope is that with the role in place we can generate the income to sustain and build on it.

Position Title: Helpline Supervisor

Role Purpose:

The Helpline Supervisor will provide support, guidance and supervise the helpline advisors and in the future helpline volunteers. Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

CCT has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration. All churches in our care are listed, mostly Grade I and II*, and some are Scheduled Ancient Monuments.

Overall job purpose

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on us supporting communities around our churches caring for, opening, using and raising money for them. The Lead Local Community Officer will play the prime role in ensuring that local people are engaged, recruited, trained and supported.

The Lead Local Community Officer will lead the regional team of Local Community Officers to support, recruit, liaise with and develop volunteer and community supporters to care, open, use and raise money for the CCT’s collection of historic churches.

They will head the Church Planning process for the region, ensuring every church maintains and develops their co-created Church Plan.

Job Purpose:

• Secure new multi- faceted, high- value, long- term corporate partnerships, which align with Barnardo's strategy and increase charity income.
• Collaborate across internal teams to develop innovative, bespoke, strategically aligned proposals which maximise partnership income and additional value.

Prospectus are excited to be working exclusively with our client to help them recruit for an interim Head of Fundraising to join their team. The organisation is a charity founded in 2018 by families bereaved by gambling-related suicide. They operate the UK's only specialist support service for people affected by gambling-related suicide. Their work prevents gambling-related harm for those who gamble and prevents those impacted by a gambling-related suicide from suffering additional harm.

This role is offered on a flexible 6-month contract basis paying a salary between £55,000 to £60,000 per annum pro rata with remote working arrangements and occasional staff meetings.

The Head of Fundraising is responsible for developing and delivering the fundraising strategy to support the charity’s work across its programme areas, including the family support, research, and prevention. They will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and colleagues across the organisation to deliver a multi-income stream plan. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with funders to promote ongoing support. Critically, the post holder will be responsible for developing fundraising propositions in response to the new statutory levy on gambling operators and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the charity’s funding pipeline.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in a leadership level fundraising role delivering a transformational strategic plan. They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable track record of raising funds from multiple income streams, including trusts, foundations, government and public bodies, and other funding bodies. They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of growing and developing an organisation’s fundraising and income generation capability. Main Duties:

Funding Development

Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with Cumberland Lodge programmes.

· Write compelling, youth and/or education focused funding applications and proposals.

· Track and manage applications, deadlines, budgets and outcomes.

Relationship Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with funders.

· Provide timely updates, reports, and impact stories.

· Represent Cumberland Lodge at meetings, events, and networking opportunities.

Person specification

You will be able to demonstrate the following criteria:

Essential Criteria:

· A track record of securing five-figure grants or more from trusts, foundations and other donors;

· Knowledge of the fundraising landscape in the UK;

· Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, for a range of audiences, including creative storytelling and project framing;

· Ability to analyse and synthesise research and data into compelling reports and funding applications;

· Ability to develop full cost recovery budgets and carry out all compliant financial reporting;

· Ability to carry out all grant management reporting accurately and in a timely manner, with knowledge of GDPR-compliant data management;

· Ability to work independently, being proactive, organised and results-driven, while maintaining an ethos of collaboration and teamwork;

· Excellent time-keeping and ability to meet deadlines;

· Experience using a range of IT packages and platforms.

Desirable Criteria:

· Experience working with young people, youth organisations or in the education sector;

· Knowledge of the fundraising landscape internationally;

· Experience using social media for marketing and communication.

Further information

Hours: 14 hours per week (through an annualised hours working pattern).

Location: Remote working although the successful candidate will be expected to work from Cumberland Lodge a minimum of one day per month.  Applicants should be aware that Cumberland Lodge is not easily accessible by public transport, so alternative forms of transport (bicycle, car) are helpful.

Annual leave: 33 days including Bank Holidays which will be pro-rata. The charity is closed over the Christmas period which will be deducted from the leave allocation.

Pension: Standard Life contributory pension (up to 10% contributions to support 5% personal contributions, with the option to increase personal contributions over and above 5%).
