Role Purpose
The Senior Public Relations Advisor leads 5Rights' external public relations and media strategy, positioning 5Rights as a global authority on children’s rights in the digital environment. The role shapes the public narrative around our mission, ensuring 5Rights’ work achieves maximum visibility, credibility and impact with policymakers, the media, industry and the public.
This is a senior, strategic role requiring exceptional judgement, political awareness and strong relationships across media and stakeholder landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive public relations strategy aligned with 5Rights’ mission and policy objectives.
- Position 5Rights as a leading voice on children’s rights in the digital environment in UK, EU and international media.
- Anticipate emerging issues and shape proactive public relations strategies around key policy moments, research releases and advocacy campaigns.
- Protect and enhance the organisation’s reputation, including crisis communications and risk management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior journalists, editors and broadcasters across national and international media.
- Secure high-profile coverage in print, broadcast and digital media.
- Act as principal media advisor to the Executive Director and senior leadership team.
- Support and coach senior spokespeople and youth representatives for media engagements.

Essential skills and attributes:
- Extensive senior-level experience in public relations, communications, journalism or public affairs, ideally within policy, advocacy, human rights, technology, or social impact sectors.
- Proven track record of shaping national and international media coverage and securing high-profile placements across print, broadcast and digital platforms.
- Demonstrated experience leading public relations and media strategy, including reputation management, at organisational or campaign level.

Practical details

The focus of this role is delivery of support to the fundraising team as well as administrative and financial record keeping tasks. Key responsibilities:
Supporter care and communication (40%)
· Act as the first point of contact for fundraising enquiries, including in person visits, ensuring a positive, personalised and friendly approach.
· Proactively and reactively thank new and existing supporters, via a variety of channels including phone, email, letter, social media and in person.
· Contribute to the development and delivery of a stewardship plan, with support from the Fundraising Manager.
· In collaboration with the Fundraising Manager and fundraising colleagues, produce materials and resources to support our stewardship of donors and supporters. · Working with the Finance Manager and Fundraising Manager, accurately process, record and reconcile donations and Gift Aid income across various platforms.
· Log donations using a combination of manual data entry, automated imports, and third-party integrations with our fundraising database.
· Confidently run internal reports to generate statistics and impact measurements for use in our accounting, projections and grant reports.
· Ensure the database is fully up-to-date and complies with data protection regulations including GDPR.
Team support (30%)
· Manage our third-party donation platforms, ensuring accurate record keeping.
· Work with the fundraising team to create and maintain our stock of fundraising materials and resources.
· Maintain Bendrigg’s website pages related to fundraising and supporter care.

The Role
Children’s online safety is both an important and an urgent issue and the need for our unique work here at Breck Foundation is greater now than ever. The primary purpose of this role is to help children and young people take practical steps to become more digitally resilient and be safer online. Our East of England Education Programme Officer will introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.
The role is fully remote, but post holder will be willing and able to easily travel to various locations within the East of England as and when necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role as well as to engage with colleagues virtually and in person in London four times a year.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Delivery
- Coordinate all practical arrangements necessary for successful delivery and post-delivery activities in schools, including the timely transmission of digital files; and liaising with relevant colleagues to ensure timely delivery of materials and promotional merchandise to schools.
- Responsibility for delivering sessions tailored to educate/inform children/parents and teachers as well as carrying out all pre- and post-delivery engagements.
- Respond to any questions, disclosures or safeguarding concerns raised during sessions and follow up where necessary with the school safeguarding team or, where consent is secured, make onward referrals for additional support in specific cases.
- Contribute to the continuous development of all aspects of the programme, sharing new ideas and using best practice, including keeping programme presentations up to date or, when applicable, working on this together with relevant colleagues, ensuring that presentations used in schools across the organisation are always uniform and consistent.
- Maintain accurate records of programme activities, including record of input, output, and impact as well as demographics data, and monitor and periodically evaluate and report on impact.
Stakeholder Development/Management
- Seek and maximise opportunities for building relationships with groups of schools (primary and secondary) and relevant education/teaching groups, unions and networks, with a view to raising the profile of the programme and generating interest in it.
- Develop and manage ongoing relationships with individual schools to secure their repeat, annual participation in the programme or repeat bookings for paid presentations.
Publicity/Marketing/Communications
- Promote the offer to all types of schools (state and private), working with relevant colleagues to create impactful publicity/marketing assets and to make contact and register schools’ interests.
- Maximise opportunities for generating communication assets and publicity during delivery in schools, including through video recordings, photographs, testimonials, Vox Pops, collection of social media handles for mentions etc., ensuring to follow school guidance and secure necessary permissions.

We are delighted to be hiring a Research and Evaluation Consultancy Lead to join The Brilliant Club. This pivotal role will drive the charity’s research and evaluation consultancy work through Brilliant Consulting. Through our consultancy work, we have partnered with a range of universities and education organisations, such as the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO) and The Sutton Trust.
The Consultancy Lead will provide research and evaluation services to universities and other education organisations working in the university access, student success and wider education space. This role will work alongside a Senior Research and Evaluation Officer to deliver high-quality consultancy projects and will report to the charity’s Director of Research and Impact. The role will involve collaborating with different teams from across the organisation and will include coordinating and managing colleagues on consultancy activities. The role will also contribute significantly to business development work to support the charity’s income generation.
The consultancy team is part of the charity’s wider research and impact team, who collectively have two areas of responsibility: evaluating and reporting the impact of the charity’s programmes and providing research and evaluation consultancy and strategy support to education organisations.
The successful candidate will have strong quantitative and qualitative research skills and have a proven track record of delivering evaluation projects in education or a related field. They will be highly experienced with managing stakeholder relationships and delivering concurrent projects and, ideally, will have also contributed to bid writing and/or other income-generation activities. While this role can be based at any of our offices throughout the UK, some travel will be required (mainly to London) to attend in-person meetings.

About this role:
Reporting to the Head of Policy and Communications, the Policy and Communications Coordinator will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and public policy work and its reach and influence, building on a growing base of expertise across SIB’s three strategic priority areas: Green Transition, Infrastructure and Services.
Key responsibilities
1. Support the Head of Policy and Communications to deliver the Policy and Communications strategy for SIB.
2. Making use of media and parliamentary tracking software keep abreast of SIB’s strategic policy areas, sharing accessible updates and digests of relevant legislation and central and local government programming and media coverage.
3. Attend / watch online relevant parliamentary committees, All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) and Commons and Lords sessions, capturing relevant outcomes and identifying MPs and Lords that SIB should seek to work with / influence.
4. Support the Head of Policy and Communications to identify a key parliamentary contacts list. Create tailored communications for these key contacts which share relevant statistics and case studies from SIB’s portfolio, alongside policy influencing lines. This will include drafting questions and briefings where relevant, and ensuring that regular contact is maintained.
5. Support the drafting of consultation responses and press releases using SIB’s core messaging, reporting, research and data.
6. Support SIB’s annual party conference attendance with coordination and administration in advance and in person.
7. Support the Head of Policy and Communications with attendance at influencing meetings and webinars with, for example, the Association of Decentralised Energy, Community Energy England, Locality, Better Society Capital, the Access Foundation and others.
8. Draft internal and external copy for newsletters and the SIB intranet and website.
9. Monitor the press email address and support correspondence with journalists on reactive and proactive stories.
10. Attend and provide oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting.
11. Write, edit and produce engaging and relevant content at pace for web, social media and e-newsletters, as well as earned and paid channels.
12. Management of external suppliers of communications and policy activities, including agencies, designers, consultants and think tanks.
13. Work with the Marketing Manager, Marketing and Events Coordinator, Business Development Manager and wider team to deliver successful external events with customers, stakeholders and partners including attendance at Party Conferences.
14. Work in line with the organisation's values, principles and processes to achieve operational excellence.
