Job Title: Bakery Manager

Reporting To: Head of Production

Salary Range: £35,000 - £38,500 (Dependent upon experience) 

Contract Type: 24 Month, Fixed Term Contract. 

Location: Felix Bakes, Unit 11, Acton Park Industrial Estate, The Vale, London, W3 7QE.

Hours/Days per week: 37.5 hour per week, 8.5 hours per day (between 8am - 8pm). Monday – Saturday (5 days on, 2 days off). Operating hours to start with for the bakery will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm (most shifts will be within this time).

The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity.
 Our vision is a London where good food is never wasted, and no one goes hungry. We aim to reduce the negative
 impact food waste has on the environment by working with the food industry to rescue high quality surplus produce, that
 would otherwise have gone to waste. This food is sorted at one of our four depots or turned into meals in Felix’s Kitchen. It is then distributed to over 1,200 community organisations, such as food banks, homeless shelters and primary schools, all of whom are working within communities across London to feed
 people experiencing hunger.

Purpose of the Job

To be the driving force and manager of this new operation, Felix Bakes, designed to help us rescue more surplus food and turn it into high value baked goods. The baked goods will be provided to our brand-new West London Depot, based on the same trading estate and then delivered to some of the 1,200 Community Organisations we support across London.

Focused on seasonal produce gluts such as carrots, courgettes, potatoes you will be able to demonstrate your creative flair helping to ensure this produce does not go to waste and adds excitement to the regular food orders prepared for our community organisations to offer to people in need across London.

As a brand-new operation you will get the opportunity to put your stamp on it and shape its development. 

You will be supported by the wider Felix Production teams in Felix’s Kitchen and Felix Food Factory. The Factory will also process and/or freeze seasonal produce to create easier to use ingredients for you. 

As manager you will have overall responsibility for the day to day running. It is a hands-on role with most of the working day spent in the kitchen and running the bakery unit. At the beginning of the operation, you will be the only permanent employee there, but this team will expand to add an additional junior baker once fully operational.  On the same estate you will also have support from our West London depot team. As a volunteer lead organisation, you will have volunteers working alongside you to support the operation.
We are launching this operation in partnership with Deliveroo, who have gifted us the use of this space. The Felix Bakes Kitchen is a unit within a wider “dark” kitchen site. 

Duties and Accountabilities

• Be the lead manager of this new operation 
• Volunteer and staff management 
• Support in the creation and delivery of all required H&S, Food Safety and HACCAP plans 
• Working with all internal stakeholders across the departments at The Felix Project to maximise the output and impact of Felix Bakes
• Reporting on and delivering against Felix Bakes stated KPI’s and development goals 
• Participate and conduct internal and external audits, meeting the required standards 
• To be the figure head of the project, including internal and some external promotion of the new operation 
• Driving continuous development of our product range and reacting to the changing nature of our surplus food supply 
• Fully accountable for the Felix Bakes outputs and safety standards, reporting and working closely alongside the Head of Production to ensure all standards are met. 

Person Specification

This is a brand new and unique operation and requires someone with some experience in baking or professional kitchens and an openness to creating and delivering on a new project. 

Someone who believes in the mission we have as an organisation and wants to put their experience and knowledge into a mission driven organisation.  We believe in an upbeat and enjoyable working environment but one that is driven to meet our targets and strategic goals. 

Whilst previous experience and knowledge within baking is important, we are open to someone who wants to grow into the role and be able to develop themselves and their knowledge whilst we create this new operation. 

Essential skills

• Comfortable with all relevant aspects of Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures in a food production environment
• Previous experience in creating and/or delivering on HACCAP plans
• Clear eye for detail, team player, enjoys the work they do and a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working alone, a positive attitude and belief in an ethical, equitable and enjoyable working environment.

The role:

Curriculum management

• Ensure the CSRH curriculum and assessment framework meets the regulatory standards set by the General Medical Council (GMC).
• Collaborate with clinicians, educators, regulators, and statutory boards to ensure the curriculum remains relevant, effective, and aligned with national standards, legislation, and service needs.
• Monitor and evaluate curriculum delivery across training sites by collecting feedback, audit results, and performance data; maintain accurate records of trainee outcomes and produce reports to support internal governance and external regulatory compliance.
• Support the use of digital platforms to track trainee progress against curriculum outcomes.

Trainee Support & Progression

• Act as a key point of contact for specialty trainees, providing guidance and administrative support throughout their training.
• Assist trainees in navigating digital platforms used for portfolio management and progression tracking.
• Develop and maintain clear, accessible guidance documents to support trainees in understanding training requirements and processes.
• Coordinate training events, inductions, and communications to keep trainees informed and engaged.

Stakeholder engagement

• Build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including the GMC, NHS England, statutory education boards, medical colleges and faculties, and training providers.
• Serve as the primary liaison for specialty trainees, Educational Supervisors and Training Programme Directors
• Work with suppliers and digital platform providers to maintain and improve user experience and functionality.
• Ensure open and constructive communication with all stakeholders to support programme delivery and regulatory compliance.

Portfolio Pathway

• Support doctors applying for specialist registration via the GMC’s Portfolio Pathway.
• Coordinate the review process for Portfolio Pathway applications, ensuring timely and accurate evaluation by relevant panels or evaluators.
• Provide clear, accessible guidance to applicants and maintain accurate records to support continuous improvement of the process and data to support workforce planning.

Committee and Governance Support

• Provide high-quality administrative support to internal committees, working groups, and panels involved in specialty training governance.
• Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on actions to ensure effective committee operations.
• Support the governance of the CSRH curriculum and assessment framework by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures and standard operating procedures related to the specialty training portfolio.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Safeguarding Team as our Senior Global Safeguarding Specialist reporting to the Global Safeguarding Director. This is a senior role in the team and will play a key part in managing and supervising safeguarding cases and investigations, as well as providing proactive support and guidance to Members and Country Programmes on a range of safeguarding topics. The role involves a considerable about of proactive prevention work such as designing and facilitating training and resources for a range of audiences (Boards, staff groups, volunteers, communities). This role supports the Global Safeguarding Director in implementing safeguarding policies and standards and works closely to deliver core safeguarding projects across the federation. In this role you’ll also: 

• Lead and Co-lead safeguarding support country programme / member visits.
• Maintain and update core safeguarding policies and standards as and when required.
• Actively engage with external safeguarding networks to ensure WaterAid continues to contribute to improve sector safeguarding standards and engages in relevant sector initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with global safeguarding standards in relation to core performance indicators.

JOB PURPOSE 

Reporting to the Director of People, the Head of People Services is responsible for leading the delivery of a quality and customer focused core people service to MSF UK. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Skills and Employability Adviser (SEND Specialist)

You will support a caseload of young people aged 16 to 18 with SEND who are either not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET. You will guide them through re-engagement with suitable post-16 provisions and provide targeted intervention to those who have withdrawn from or not started their named placements. For young people with an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in Year 14 and above, you may also offer short-term support through a brief intervention approach.

You will support young people at risk of NEET as they transition from secondary education into post-16 pathways. Working across the West of East Sussex with students in special schools and mainstream settings, you will play a key role in ensuring that young people with SEND —particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)—receive the tailored guidance and support they need to progress confidently into further education, training, or employment. Your work will align with East Sussex’s Assessment and Planning Team and the statutory guidance outlined in the SEND Code of Practice. THE ROLE

This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity build its profile among national stakeholders while delivering projects that seek to bring an end to fuel poverty and to the misery of cold homes. The role will largely focus on working with the UK Government and local authorities to ensure that efforts to decarbonise homes are in the best interests of NEA’s client group.

You will have responsibility for the production of NEA’s responses to relevant consultations and the ability to produce and deliver briefings on current relevant policies for internal and external audiences. This will include responding to and influencing Government policy across key areas with a particular focus on our work to ensure that energy markets work in the interests of fuel poor households.

You will have a key responsibility for analysing relevant aspects of policy at a local, national and UK level – you will also represent and enhance the co-ordination of NEA’s stakeholder’s relationships and help us capture key insights and impacts from our practical work to ensure these are reflected in policy positions and our advocacy. 

The post sits within the Policy and Advocacy Directorate and is part of a creative and caring team of professionals who bring a wide range of skills and expertise to this growing department. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.

It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them. 

You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress. 

You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

Knowledge of energy efficiency, particularly within the domestic sector and community buildings, is desirable.

WE ARE OFFERING:

• £33,931 to £38,594 (Points 23 – 28) (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.
• 11.5% non-contributory pension.
• 25 days annual leave plus 3 additional days in between Christmas New Year Period when our offices close; plus, all public holidays per annum.
