Elders Voice is a charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Brent. Our mission is to enable older people to live safely and independently in the homes of their choosing and lead happier and healthier lives. We do this by providing a variety of services and activities, including a Handyperson Service and a Day Centre.

The Handyperson Service is our flagship service; it’s been in existence for 35 years and is highly valued by the older people who use it. The service aims to prevent accidents in the home and enable older people to live safely by carrying out basic repairs and improvements, and the installation of small equipment such as grab rails, which support mobility. Jobs include things like changing lightbulbs, hanging curtains and putting up shelves. Our handy team have decades of experience between them, and an exceptional reputation in the borough.

We are looking for a Handyperson Service Coordinator to oversee the Handyperson Service and be responsible for all aspects of facilities management at our premises in Kensal Green.

Role: Handyperson Service Coordinator

Salary: £18,000 per annum (FTE £30,000)

Handyperson Service

• Undertake all administrative tasks relating to the effective and efficient running of the Handyperson Service with meticulous attention to detail and record keeping.
• Coordinate the handy team and provide supervision and support.
• Promote service within borough and maintain relationships with Brent Adult Social Care, healthcare bodies and other statutory & voluntary sector organisations.
• Work with CEO in developing and expanding service.

Facilities Management

• Oversee all contracts related to Health & Safety and building maintenance.
• Carry out inspection of premises and flag areas requiring maintenance and repair.
• Ensure premises meets government regulations, health & safety standards and energy efficiency requirements.

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) is looking to engage the services of a results-oriented consultant with great people skills to set up CAP projects in high harm areas.

About Us

CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.

A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.

· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.

· Raise the profile of CAPs in the North East of England and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.

Specific duties to include the following:

o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.

o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.

o Liaise as appropriate with strategic leads within local enforcement authorities and other partner organisations to initiate and complete agreed actions.

o Encourage all projects to achieve positive local media coverage including via social media and regional news/broadcast media.

o Ensure that all projects carry out as a minimum a baseline (pre-CAP) evaluation and post intervention evaluation following the CAP evaluation framework and project management survey tools.

o Produce a monthly progress report on all schemes and pipeline activity.

o Attend and participate in regular CAP update meetings on Microsoft teams (x12 pa).

o Assist with event planning and profile-raising opportunities such as MP visits to CAP projects.

Skills, attributes and experience

• Essential to the role will be the ability to persuade key stakeholders at local and national level of the need to address underage drinking problems and to facilitate effective and dynamic local partnerships involving any/all of the following sectors: local authorities, education, child protection, social services, public health, police, retailers and licensing.
• Excellent organisational and sound project management skills.
• Great people skills with the ability to build consensus and motivate partners to play a role in timely delivery of an agreed action plan.
• Act as an ambassador for CAP at meetings and events including parliamentary events.
• Excellent presentation and all-round communication skills.
• Capable administrator with the ability to keep accurate records including data collection around outputs and impact evaluation.

Remuneration: Consultancy fee of £320 per day depending on experience. Work will depend on ability to generate interest in setting up new CAPs but we anticipate as a guideline engaging a minimum of 3 days of consultancy per week. All reasonable and agreed travel expenses will be paid in line with invoice arrangements.

Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Interim Finance Manager will lead on financial matters and be expected to provide critical financial information, insightful analysis and timely reporting to facilitate the growth of the Charity.

The role

The responsibility for the Programme Lead is to support the organisation to deliver it’s strategy and embed agile ways of working. They will work with cross-functional groups set up to support strategic delivery. This will include designing and running workshops to help us develop our strategy and plan our activity to deliver it.

The Programme Lead will manage cross-team groups of colleagues that work together to develop impactful activity. Enabling strategy to translate into delivery. The role will develop sessions with the groups, ensuring objectives are set and collating insight.

Continuous learning and improvement will be a priority, due to our new ways of working. The Programme Lead will run retrospectives and use feedback to ensure Scope is set up to deliver its strategy. They will establish mechanisms for learning and improving. Using findings, they will report and influence key stakeholders. This includes colleagues of all levels across the organisation.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a confident and experienced sustainability professional to join our central team as Environmental and Sustainability Manager.

You will play a key part in delivering our ambitious sustainability goals through operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Environmental and Sustainability Manager will lead and deliver the Federation’s environmental sustainability strategy across all academies. You will champion climate action, support academy-level implementation, drive behaviour change, monitor resource use, and report progress against sustainability targets.

As Environmental and Sustainability Manager you will:

• Leading development, delivery and monitoring the Federation Sustainability Strategy
• Provide high quality reporting to Federation senior leaders on environmental and sustainability performance
• Champion sustainability and environmental consideration as a key element of all property decision making including the development of our estate strategy
• In academies embed behaviour change, improving biodiversity of the estate, delivering on Net Zero (driving the reduction in creating carbon and heat emissions)
• Reducing waste (whether it be utilities, paper, or landfill).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you will need a deep understanding of environmental compliance, ISO14001, sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement and operational change leadership.

• Qualifications to degree level, or equivalent experience
• Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), ISEP or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
• Experience in environmental management, sustainability, estates or a related field
• Strong knowledge of sustainability legislation, policy, and best practice in the education sector
• Demonstrated experience of managing projects and delivering measurable sustainability outcomes
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Analytical skills and the ability to use data for reporting and decision-making

• Knowledge of DfE environmental strategy and school climate commitments

BVA is the largest membership community for the veterinary profession in the UK, we champion, support, and empower more than 19,000 vets of all ages, stages, and disciplines.

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the growth of BVA’s commercial products and membership offer, with a particular focus on our Great Workplaces by BVA accreditation scheme.

This is a brand-new role for BVA, and we need someone able to hit the ground running and who is ready to make an impact. You’ll need a proven track record in B2B sales or business development and should love building strong relationships and thrive on turning opportunities into long-term impact.

This is a commercially focused, relationship-driven role. You’ll work to expand our accreditation scheme by developing and executing sales strategies, building a pipeline of new customers and nurturing long-lasting partnerships with accredited workplaces.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Data Analyst to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week. Alternatively, we will consider part-time hours on a job share basis.

As part of NEA’s Policy and Advocacy Directorate, you will work within our highly effective Insights and Impact team, as we focus on a decade of delivery that guarantees a fair energy future for all and ensures those on the lowest incomes and living in the least efficient homes receive the support needed to protect health and wellbeing.

The post holder will support National Energy Action in harnessing the power of data analysis and visualisation in the delivery of our charitable aims. They will form part of a process to embed a ‘data driven culture’ within the charity, enhancing our capability and capacity to:

Understand and evidence the needs of fuel poor households.

Develop and apply data insights to directly inform the management, development, and delivery of NEA services.

Effectively communicate our data insights to diverse audiences and through different mediums

Develop and apply data insights to inform and support our advocacy and policy-related campaigning.

Develop and apply data insights to inform and develop fundraising and partnership opportunities.

What you will need to succeed

You will have demonstrable and applied experience in a data analyst role and hold an appropriate qualification in a relevant subject. You will be familiar and confident in using data visualisation tools and programming languages to manipulate, analyse and present data.

A compelling communicator you will have the ability to translate complex data into easily digestible, accessible and actionable insights that can be easily understood by diverse stakeholders. The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. 

Finally, we are passionate about what we do, and we would like you to be too; you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of NEA’s mission to eradicate fuel poverty.
