What we are looking for:

About Scripture Union
You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. About our team
Like many jobs, you will work with lots of different teams in different contexts. With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of regionally focused team of 7 that is part of our wider movement.
The successful candidate will be a part of our Central Region team of 7 workers who between us work across a region, from Suffolk to Gloucestershire, up to Shropshire, to Lincolnshire. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban and rural areas. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. You will work in the Central Region multiplying your impact through equipping, empowering and mobilising others in outreach work. You’ll add energy, expertise, direction, and skill to the mix. World Jewish Relief launched the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to people who have experienced forced migration in the UK.
STEP aims to support refugees and others who have experienced forced migration to overcome the complex barriers they face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Officer, who will be central to the smooth delivery and coordination of the STEP In-Person Programme. You will be responsible for a range of programme and partnership management tasks, including oversight of grant payments, data and impact reporting, delivery partner support, and internal training and induction. We are seeking an experienced fundraiser who can work with us on a part time, freelance basis (Sept/Oct 2025 - January 2026) for a fee of £16Kto produce and undertake the following specialist services:

Direct Reports: Puppy Training Volunteers
You will be part of the ambitious puppy team, developing, coordinating, and supporting the puppy training programme. You will have the opportunity to work with and train volunteers in the appropriate care and training of Canine Partners’ puppies. You will work with puppies from eight-weeks to approximately 15-months old, ensuring they receive appropriate socialisation and training before entering our assistance dog training, giving them the foundations to learn how to be life-changing assistance dogs, bringing greater independence and quality of life to people with physical disabilities. A proactive approach is key to maintaining the welfare and behavioural standards for the puppies. All training at Canine Partners follows best practice, positive reinforcement methods and this role is an ambassador for this approach.
About you:
- Experience of working with puppies.
- Good working knowledge of best practice dog training and behaviour.
- Good practical dog handling and training skills.
