The Role 
 
As Deputy Shop Manager at our Ilkley Shop you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, including managing a team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Play an active part in running our shop in Ilkley, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

• Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity. 

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation. 

• Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a positive retail environment. 

• Ensure there are sufficient volunteers to support the effective operation of the shop during all opening hours. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and attractive window displays. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure that all charity policies, shop standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to all volunteers and are maintained and followed in a consistent manner. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To ideally be educated to GCSE level or equivalent but not essential.

• Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

• To be highly organised with good time management skills.

• To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

• To be able to use own initiative.

• To be resilient and adaptable to change. 

• To have good planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieve targeted income is desirable.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Cancer Insight and working closely with both internal colleagues and external partners, you will play a key role in identifying emerging strategic opportunities. You will oversee a portfolio of initiatives that support the charity’s mission and objectives, guiding each project from early concept through to final delivery. For initiatives that demonstrate successful outcomes, you will be responsible for generating robust evidence to support their progression into broader research programmes or service implementation.

Specifically, you will:

Insight and Innovation

· Work closely with other teams in the charity, as well as external partners, to make use of identified gaps in knowledge or service provision and propose innovative solutions.

· Support horizon scanning of sources of information such as academic literature, policy recommendations and clinical trial portfolios to identify emerging trends and opportunities for cancer research, one-off projects and new services, with a focus on issues affecting Yorkshire.

· Identify potential opportunities for collaboration with external partners with shared strategic ambitions.

Strategic focus and prioritisation

· Support the development of a strategic development plan that defines goals in the short, medium, and long-term.

· Work with the wider Cancer Insight Team to present the potential future impact of projects and provide information to support strategic prioritisation via a new strategic prioritisation framework.

Project Management

· Manage the design, planning, and execution of new strategic projects aligned with the charity’s overall strategic goals and objectives.

· Develop clear project scopes, objectives, timelines, and success metrics.

· Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Stakeholder Engagement

· Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external organisations. This may include, but is not limited to, academic partners, NHS stakeholders, private sector service providers, pharmaceutical industry partners and other external organisations such as other health organisations, funding bodies and charities.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To have a degree in a relevant subject such as public health, health sciences, biomedical sciences, health policy, or a related field.
• To have a proven track record of delivering strategic or innovation projects in a healthcare, research or charity setting is essential.
• To have experience in identifying new opportunities aligned with strategic objectives.
• To have experience of taking projects from concept development, through set-up, delivery and completion.

Harris Hill is looking for a Fundraising Consultant, who has a good background in Corporate Fundraising, for roughly 8 days per month, for 6 months, possibly up to a year. 

Following a review of corporate fundraising, the client is looking to develop new partners, so would like someone with a suitable background to research and approach new organisations.

70% of your work with be business development and 30% account management, so this will suit someone who enjoys developing new relationships, rather than managing existing ones. 

The 8 days per month are totally flexible on when they are worked, so this could be a good job for someone who has other clients, with this organisation working this role outside IR35, billing the client direct.

14. Work with external agencies to deliver effective PPC search and display ad campaigns.

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Charity Support Officer to help deliver AWN’s mission. You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, supporting them to strengthen their organisations and improve their chances of securing grant funding by offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that help them grow in confidence and resilience. The role includes helping organisations strengthen governance and compliance, sharing information on grant-funding opportunities, and supporting them to identify challenges and develop practical solutions.
 
The non-profits you will support work across a wide range of areas for example: women, health and wellbeing, youth, homelessness and poverty, family services, sports, faith groups, crime and gangs, prisoners and ex-offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, drug addiction, older people and rehabilitation, and many more. 
 
Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans. 

• Provide tailored support, including health checks on governance, compliance, finances, and funding readiness, offering recommendations and signposting to specialist services (e.g., Cranfield Trust, CVS, Charity Excellence etc). 

• Advise on funding opportunities, strategy, and application readiness, with referrals to bid-writing support where needed. 

• Deliver workshops, webinars, events, and one-to-one sessions to build skills, knowledge, and confidence of UK grassroots organisations. 

• Work collaboratively with organisations and AWN colleagues (including via the triage and referral system) to identify challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions. 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with charities, funders, and sector partners across the voluntary, public, and charity sectors. 

• Represent AWN at external events, conferences, and meetings, helping to organise and deliver events linked to your work. 

• Keep accurate records on the CRM, gather feedback, write case studies, and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and service development. 

• Support AWN’s communications by contributing updates for the website and social media.

Alongside these personal qualities, you’ll bring a good understanding of the charity sector and the challenges facing small non-profits across the UK, for UK Muslim-led organisations. You’ll have exceptional knowledge of governance, compliance, and funding pathways, and the confidence to guide organisations towards growth, resilience, and long-term impact. 

Essential Criteria 

• 3+ years’ experience within the UK charity sector (domestic, not solely international). 

• Strong understanding of charity governance, compliance, and the UK funding and grant-making landscape. 

• Insight into the needs and challenges of small and grassroots non-profits, with awareness of the systemic barriers affecting Muslim-led organisations. 

• Experience supporting or advising charities, community groups, or local networks to build capacity and resilience. 

• Ability to work collaboratively with organisations, offering constructive and practical guidance. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in public speaking and engaging a wide range of stakeholders. 

• Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.  

• Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a small team, with minimal supervision. 

• Confident using technology to deliver support and manage work effectively, including CRM systems, Microsoft Teams, and other digital tools. 

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: 
  - Community engagement and outreach 
  - Event or project coordination (online and in-person) 
  - Delivering presentations, workshops, or training sessions 
  - Monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities 

Recruitment Process

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Storytelling team in the Social Impact domain. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all creative production needs (print, digital, video, audio, and animation) to make effective and engaging content in promotion of our services and campaigns.

We are currently looking for a proactive and supportive individual to join our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to build collaborative relationships and problem-solve.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

-experience of facilitating and organising creative traffic and production

-experience working across a range of creative production to include print, digital, video, audio, and animation

-excellent communication skills and must be comfortable leading group discussions

What you will be doing

This is a strategic and creative role at the heart of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s national fundraising and engagement efforts. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of national community and challenge event programmes across all four UK regions (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland).

Using strong project and campaign management skills, the role will grow existing initiatives charity owned initiatives such as the Great British Dog Walk and the 28 Challenge and develop new, audience-led campaigns that inspire public participation, drive fundraising, and deepen long-term engagement with the charity.

In addition to the owned initiatives, the role will promote Hearing Dogs for Deaf People to participants of external national events such as The Great North Run or the London Marathon.

The ultimate objectives are to drive income generation and guide supporters from initial involvement to becoming volunteers for the broader work of the charity and legacy pledgers.

Desired candidate

• Proactive and confident self-starter with proven experience in campaign management, digital fundraising, and audience engagement.
• Strong understanding of social media tools, digital platforms, and challenge event management (e.g. Fundraising).
• Excellent project management and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Ability to develop creative propositions and media plans based on audience insight.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with occasional travel to events and HQ.

The role is within our Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team. You'll play a vital role in supporting disabled Londoners to campaign for affordable, accessible transport, and influencing decision-makers to act on the barriers and extra costs we face.

The role will lead on engagement in London, building relationships with our members, Disabled People’s Organisations, and decision makers. You’ll organise campaigns and forums, represent Transport for All at events, and work with TfL, London Councils and boroughs to make transport fairer and more equitable.

We are a small, committed and disabled-led team working to make sure that disabled people’s voices are heard in politics, the media and beyond. This role is central to ensuring lived experience drives systemic change in London’s transport system.
