About you and the role

This role is key to helping us grow and empower our school and chef partners through our Membership. You’ll work closely with the Programme Manager and Procurement Manager to improve the membership offering and build a strong community of schools, chefs, and suppliers.

Your work will be varied, from managing membership administration to building supplier relationships and helping with communication between schools and stakeholders. As the membership grows, you’ll work with the team to help improve the support, networks, and systems available to members. You’ll also help with ensuring suppliers meet safety standards, deliver great produce, and offer reliable service.

In addition, you’ll assist with organising our member events, from planning and logistics to coordinating attendees and making sure everything runs smoothly.

You will be a confident communicator who is happy gathering information from our team, suppliers and school chefs, with an ability to translate data for the continued improvement of the membership. The role will cover everything from basic administration tasks, to visiting schools, helping to create resources and supporting our procurement processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage membership administration, including onboarding new members, staying in touch regularly, coordinating internal support for membership needs, and tracking renewals.

• Support the creation of resources, guides, and training materials for members.

• Assist with the planning and delivery of events, training days, and conferences for members and stakeholders.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Head of Public Fundraising who will be responsiblefor leading an emerging department at CoppaFeel! that holds both historic and new income streams. 

With an ambitious team, we need someone in this role to engage a diverse audience and raise vital funds to save lives.

You will oversee acquisition and stewardship, maximising income from audiences including individual giving, community, gaming, lottery, legacy and in-memory giving. You will lead in developing and delivering the public fundraising strategy. With a recent review of public fundraising at CoppaFeel!, you will be key in the support and development of unrestricted income, as we invest in new fundraising products, marketing campaigns and growth.

This department is important to our growth at CoppaFeel! and it is an exciting time to join as we are committed to investing in new income streams and need a dynamic, driven leader to drive them forward. You would be able to shape this department and role the way you see it moving forward at CoppaFeel!.

The Head of Public Fundraising will sit within the Fundraising team and report to the Director of Fundraising. You will have a team of 3, with 2 direct reports. 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy

• Develop and deliver strategies to secure donations from individual donors, driving repeat gifts and income to meet your annual target and agreed KPI’s.
• Use your expertise in multi-channel fundraising including digital, direct mail, email and social media.
• Oversee and expand our fundraising initiatives including DIY fundraising, lottery, gaming, legacy, and fundraising appeals across all marketing channels to increase number of donors and donations and boosting average donation values.
• Understand and advocate for supporters, inspiring them to engage and donate, ensuring our thanking and engagement strategies encourage repeat giving.
• Develop new fundraising products ensuring our donor profiling analysis sits at the heart of new development.
• Ensure ROI and key performance metrics are used to make evidence based decisions.
• Work closely with Heads of Department to deliver the CoppaFeel! strategy.

Leadership

• Work within the leadership team to maintain the CoppaFeel! culture reflecting and championing the organisations values of positivity, creativity, community and impact.
• Work closely with all Heads of Departments to collaborate on projects and stay across the direction of all teams.
• Lead and inspire the Individual Giving Manager and Digital Fundraising Manager to meet their objectives and live the CoppaFeel! Values.

Management

• Manage and support the Individual Giving Manager, Digital Fundraising Manager and oversee the Individual Giving Assistant, ensuring they have annual performance reviews, learning and development plans, KPI’s, and are supported to meet their fundraising targets.
• Responsible for the knowledge of regulation relevant to individual giving and public fundraising including GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Manage and oversee compelling fundraising communications and targeting external audiences using a range of direct response channels.
• Oversee the management of our new gaming fundraising strategy.
• Develop and oversee new fundraising products, including launching a new celebrity led fundraising initiative.
• Oversee and continue to develop our new legacy fundraising initiatives at CoppaFeel! ensuring we are stewarding legacy pledgers and legacy partners.
• Work with the Head of Finance on budgeting, reporting, re-forecasting income and ROI.
• Produce progress reports as required to the Director of Fundraising.

Administration 

• Develop dashboards with the Database Executive for ease of reporting KPI’s for Public Fundraising at CoppaFeel!.
• Ensure systems are kept up to date including Beacon CRM, and CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
• Excellent record keeping at all times of public fundraising campaigns and communications on the CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
• Keep diary and shared calendar up-to-date, shared communications across the organisation including desk booking systems, People HR, Weekly Round Up and contribute to team meetings.
• Ensure excellent financial records are kept including invoicing, contracts for suppliers, cheques and cash collections, and team expenses, following CoppaFeel! finance policies.

About The Role
You will be working in a collaborative, fast-paced and creative environment and will play a key role within our Engagement Team to strengthen Youth Music’s relationships with individual givers. Join the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) as our E-learning Project Manager for the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) — and help shape the future of radiology education across the UK and beyond.
We’re redeveloping one of the most respected radiology e-learning programmes in the world — R-ITI — and we need a driven, strategic and organised Project Manager to bring it to life.

In this 18-month fixed-term role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of over 300 digital learning modules. You’ll collaborate with the Learning Development Manager, the Learning Technologist and the e-learning faculty comprising Subject Matter Experts (SMEs – who are doctors) while undertaking the project to relaunch these essential resources on our new Learning Management System (LMS).

You’ll not only be supporting radiologists in their professional development but you’ll also play a key role is helping ensure the offering is financially sustainable, enabling us to reinvest in growing our influence and impact globally.

• Oversee the entire life cycle of selected R-ITI modules marked for redevelopment, from establishing SME groups to review and update content, to working with learning technology colleagues to produce and publish them on time and within budget on RCR’s LMS. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and objectives and provide support to the working groups whilst they redevelop the modules. 
• Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.

The Role

The purpose of the Policy and Communications Manager role is to:

• Deliver against our National Voices’ policy and project work through a programme’s life cycle, from inception to delivery and evaluation, and within budget
• Manage our communications work to our members and external stakeholders to successfully communicate all relevant organisational output including policy, improvement, lived experience and insight work.
• Work with voluntary sector organisations and people with the greatest health and care needs to develop National Voices’ deliver our policy and communications positions in line with our strategy and members priorities.

The role will be a mix of policy and communications, with 75% of the role likely focused on policy.

Responsibilities

Management oversight

· Manage projects or programmes which are significant in terms of income, profile or risk, and which are often delivered in partnership with others.

· Identify possible future partnerships, follow-on work and funding opportunities that arise from our policy and external affairs work, including from stakeholder relationships, and proactively work to secure income

· Line-manage staff, in the first instance our Communications and Events Officer, to include appraisals, setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting development.

What is the role of the Manager? 

As manager, with the support of the deputy(s), you will organise varied and fun breaks for our guests. This includes carrying out assessments for new guests, supporting the team to deliver respite care, coaching the staff team, and embedding high standards in the service. We run 20 breaks a year and wish to grow this number, around about 10 of which are led by the Activity Team Manager on site in East Sussex. During activity breaks food and your own room is provided and an additional sleep in payment for each night supporting a break is paid.  

We are a London based charity and welcome applicants for this role on the understanding they are able to support at least 10 breaks throughout a year (providing day and overnight support for 5 days/ 4 nights at a time in East Sussex), are able to travel to our North East London offices to attend meetings and training sessions, and travel to assessments and marketing events as required.

Kentown Support is a new charity, here to ensure that every child with a life-limiting condition and their family across the UK has access to a model of integrated community children’s palliative care. We will:

About the Role

Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, implementing a vital part of our philanthropy programme as we deliver our growth strategy.
 

You will identify, engage, cultivate and steward major donors (high net worth individuals) and charitable foundations to secure high value gifts and grants, grow long term strategic relationships in support of the LGBTQI movement, grow GiveOut's network, and provide a top quality donor experience.

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate communications activities across the Society’s policy and external affairs activities, ensuring that our work is communicated strategically and visible to appropriate audiences.

Key responsibilities:

Understanding opportunities and the changing external environment  

• Develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of our key internal and external audiences to better align our policy and external affairs communications to those preferences and needs. 
• Monitor and respond to emerging trends to ensure our communications channels and content for policy and external affairs remain timely and relevant.
• Build a network of key contacts across critical and adjacent organisations to maximise potential routes into influencing decision-making and make the best use of resources through collaborative working. 

Development of strategies and plans

• Lead on strategic communication of the Society’s campaign priorities
• Contribute to the development of the Society’s communications strategy across media, social media and communications planning.
• Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to maximise the communications value of the Society’s key policy and external affairs outputs and activities.
• Contribute to costed plans for communications campaigns that meet key strategic goals and include monitoring for impact.

Media relations

• Lead on the Society’s media relations work – proactively identify and exploit appropriate media opportunities to promote campaign priorities, drafting media statements and managing launches and announcements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists across our key topic areas and respond to press queries. 
• Expertly advise, assist and brief the Society’s key spokespeople in respect of media relations issues and opportunities. 
• Manage, and develop the Society’s statistical ambassador scheme, supporting individuals and ensuring we have a pipeline of spokespeople that reflects the diversity of the data professions.

Content creation and editorial

• Develop communications content including blogs, press statements, posts and thought pieces to communicate our campaigns and policy work. 
• Contribute to the operation of the Society’s social media accounts, working with wider staff to ensure we are reflecting the breadth of the Society’s activities across the various platforms.
• Produce write-ups of events and roundtables.

External affairs

• Work with the CEO and Head of Policy and Advocacy to identify and develop relationships with external stakeholders, both UK-based and international and across government, civil society, academia and business, acting as a convenor, trusted advisor and critical friend. 
• Lead on the Society’s statistical excellence awards programme, including developing and maintaining relationships with awards sponsors to ensure the awards are both impactful and financially sustainable.
• Lead on the planning and delivery of policy focused events 
• Support the publication, launch and dissemination of relevant outputs across the policy team, and work with colleagues to ensure relevant and timely and communication of policy positions to support policy and advocacy objectives. 
• Maintain a database of relevant stakeholders.

Management

• Monitor and report on progress and performance against targets. 
• Project manage campaigns, external affairs and communications activities, ensuring that work is appropriate, of high quality, and sufficient volume to maintain presence and reputation. 
• Manage the budget for the communications function.

Interfaces with other teams and groups 

• Contribute to a cross-RSS communications group to share comms plans and outputs and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration. 
• Provide support to key Society groups, for example the Campaigns Advisory Group. 
• Work with staff responsible for business development to pursue sponsorship opportunities where appropriate. 
• Engage with teams across the organisation to identify comms opportunities to advance our campaign priorities.

Person Specification

• Significant relevant experience in media relations and external affairs 
• Excellent written / oral communication skills, including writing, editing, sub-editing and proofreading 
• Excellent organisation, project and budget management skills
• Ability to work effectively, managing multiple projects and deadlines and reprioritising and achieving results in a changing environment.
• Ability to work on own initiative, escalating issues where appropriate. 
• Experience organising events in a policy context 
• Strong interpersonal skills: ability to persuade, inspire, influence, achieve results through others. 
• Collaborative team worker: proven ability to work efficiently and effectively with colleagues, committees, volunteers, and people with a wide range of perspectives, and to foster consensus. 
• Ability to establish and develop an extensive network of external contacts in the industry.
• Work closely with members of the Society who provide expert support on a voluntary basis including the President and Vice-President for External Affairs.

Desirable

• Interest in or experience of statistics, research, or other aspects of the Society’s work 
• Familiarity with developments within data science, statistics, machine learning, AI and related subject areas. 
• Experience working with volunteers. 
• Scientific background or experience. 

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available. 

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered. The post-holder will be the point of contact for any out-of-office hours press queries. 

Holidays

25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional shut down between Christmas and New Year. 

Probation

This post is subject to a six-month probation period.
