Responsibilities of our Health and Safety Officer:
- Conduct in-person health & safety and fire risk assessments across centres and shops, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies
- Investigate accidents and incidents, analyse trends, and recommend preventative actions
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, assessments, and incidents in line with data protection requirements
- Promote completion of H&S e-learning and identify additional training needs
- Build strong relationships with staff and volunteers to foster a positive safety culture
- Lead regional H&S Committee meetings and contribute to team discussions and continuous improvement of SHE practices
- Support wellbeing and mental health awareness by signposting relevant resources
About the Safety, Health & Environment team:
The SHE team are a multi tasking team that undertake most Health and Safety tasks in-house, working closely with most other teams within Cats Protection. The team is made up of a manager and 4 regional officers who cover the whole of the UK, The team deal with the Cats Protection retail outlets, Cat Centres, accident investigations, DSE, branch volunteer enquiries and more.
What we’re looking for in our Health and Safety Officer:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and membership of a relevant professional body
- Significant experience (3+ years post qualification) in a similar health & safety role, ideally in public sector, facilities, or charity setting
- Experience working across multiple sites
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels
- Able to work independently, manage workload, and perform under pressure
- Organised, pragmatic, and professional with a flexible, positive attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Our Devon centre has a wonderful group of dedicated people with varying skills that meld into one team with one mission: to help as many pets as possible. We help pets through our two main services, Home Direct and our fostering network of over 80 volunteer foster carers.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring exceptional care for both pets and clients while making well-connected, efficient decisions that prioritise pet welfare. As the leader of our home-based pet operations, you’ll oversee the smooth running of daily activities, acting as the subject matter expert in practical animal handling and assessment. Your goal will be to prepare pets for adoption as quickly and effectively as possible. You’ll work closely with your team to ensure timely pet assessments, behaviour management, and training, while providing full support to foster carers.
You’ll also be responsible for achieving pet-related targets, ensuring your team of Pet Welfare Assistants and Foster Co-Ordinator's maintains the highest standards of animal care and adheres to national processes in case management. Since we don’t have cattery or kennel facilities, innovation and teamwork are essential to address the most urgent cases effectively.
Motivating and managing your team is central to this role, enabling the centre to provide top-quality home-based pet care while helping your team develop professionally.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week and you will be required to work 1 in 3 weekends.

The Scientific Communications and Content Assistant will support us to deliver our scientific communications strategy by helping to draft, design and publish engaging content for our print and digital platforms. This includes assisting with the creation of visual and written content that effectively convey complex scientific information to our diverse audiences.
The role will report to our Scientific Communications and Outreach Manager and work closely with the Public Affairs Lead and other internal teams to create engaging content for our audiences. SUMMARY OF ROLE
This new role offers the opportunity to be part of an exciting new journey at RABI as we grow our Marketing and Communications team ahead of launching our ambitious 2025-2030 strategy. As Digital Communications Officer, you will take a lead role in planning, creating and delivering content across social media, email marketing, and digital campaigns. You will have the creative freedom to develop innovative approaches that drive meaningful interaction and measurable impact.
The role reports to the Senior Digital Communications Manager and requires close collaboration to support RABI’s digital objectives and content strategy. You will also work with the wider Marketing and Communications team and colleagues across the organisation to support broader objectives, reach multiple audiences and connect people with the charity’s work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media and Content Creation
- Plan, create and deliver engaging content across RABI’s social media channels in line with the communications strategy.
- Create a diverse range of multimedia content (short-form video, graphics, photography, written content) tailored thoughtfully for each platform (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Be hands-on with video creation when needed (e.g., filming short clips, editing using mobile tools or basic editing software).

SUMMARY OF ROLE
This is a pivotal new role within RABI’s Marketing & Communications team, managing the planning and delivery of RABI’s presence at high-profile agricultural, corporate and external affairs events throughout the year, whilst overseeing the management and deployment of volunteers and ambassadors at shows and local engagement activities across England and Wales. The Events & Engagement Manager will ensure that all activities reflect RABI’s values and strategic goals and that our network of volunteers and ambassadors are expertly managed and supported.
You’ll be responsible for managing a high-performing events function, overseeing two Events and Marketing Coordinators and working collaboratively across the charity to ensure RABI is visible, active and engaged across the sector. You will bring experience, professionalism and a hands-on approach to deliver high-quality, mission-driven events that drive brand awareness and build relationships across our community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership of Events and Ambassador Programme
- Lead the development and implementation of a national events strategy that reflects RABI’s priorities and enhances the charity’s presence across rural and farming communities.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive events and shows calendar, ensuring a coordinated and strategic approach to regional and national opportunities.
- Work closely with RABI’s Fundraising, External Affairs and Volunteering teams to ensure events, conferences and shows are aligned with RABI’s strategic objectives and are on brand.
- Lead and develop RABI’s new Ambassador programme, working in collaboration with the Volunteering department to launch the programme from pilot to national rollout.
Agricultural Shows and Sector Representation
- Take a leading role in managing RABI’s presence at key agricultural shows and rural events (e.g. Royal Welsh Show, Great Yorkshire Show, Oxford Farming Conference, LAMMA).
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of shows and events attendance including logistics, stand design, staffing, promotional materials, health and safety and evaluation.
- Represent RABI at events with professionalism and warmth, acting as a visible ambassador and engaging with supporters, stakeholders and the public.
- Build strong relationships with show organisers and agricultural networks to secure prominent placements and collaborative opportunities.
Event Management and Delivery

- National and regional agriculture shows and conferences

- Line-manage two Events and Marketing Coordinators, providing regular support, mentoring and performance reviews.

Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with your colleagues in the Communications team to plan promotional content for each event (print, digital and social media).

Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- A minimum 5 years’ experience working in a successful Events team at a managerial level.
- Proven experience in managing a broad portfolio of events, ideally within the charity, agricultural or rural affairs sectors.
- Demonstrable experience of line-management and overseeing the management of volunteers/ambassadors
- Proven experience leading high-profile public-facing events such as exhibitions, trade shows and external affairs events

SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Events & Marketing Coordinator will play an essential role in delivering high-impact engagement activities and supporting the wider work of RABI’s Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Events & Engagement Manager, you’ll help coordinate the charity’s presence at a wide range of events -including agricultural shows, external affairs engagements, conferences and community activities, ensuring a consistently professional and compelling presence across England and Wales. As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications and steward relationship with current and future charitable trusts. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager is responsible for leading and developing RABI’s philanthropy and partnerships donor base, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders).
This plays a pivotal role in shaping RABI’s fundraising strategy, identifying major funding opportunities and creating impactful engagement strategies to secure long-term financial support for the charity’s sustainability.
Relationship building is key to this position, communicating effectively with our donors by enhancing and strengthening relations through cultivation tactics and deepening relationships to ensure robust support from these influential stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) fundraising strategy to drive RABI’s fundraising activities and support long-term sustainability. This includes overseeing the cultivation and stewardship of major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders).
- Report on income and expenditure targets, ensuring targets are met and assisting with budget setting.
- Cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with larger funders, ensuring strong and sustained engagement.
- Develop tailored proposals and partnership packages aligned with potential partners’ priorities and interests.
- Manage, identify and build relationships with key corporate funders, negotiate and manage agreements, ensuring clear communication of expected deliverables.
- Oversee and manage all trust and foundation opportunities, identifying potential funders whilst monitoring and reporting on deliverables and outcomes ensuring timely delivery of all requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Develop compelling, tailored proposals and partnership packages to align with the interests and priorities of potential partners, demonstrating impact.
- Plan and execute donor stewardship events and activities to enhance engagement and retention. Ensure that donor recognition and communications are carried out with precision, ensuring donors feel valued and informed.
- Manage, track and utilise CRM systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics) to maintain up-to-date donor data, track progress and provide concise and timely reports on fundraising activities and income and expenditure reports. Analyse donor trends and engagement metrics to optimise fundraising strategies.
- Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR the CIOF Code of Fundraising Practice and RABI’s internal policies. Make certain the charity’s best practices are upheld in all donor interactions and fundraising activities.
- Responsibility for line management, providing guidance, support and performance feedback to ensure the development and success of team members.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including fundraising, communications, service delivery, business development and external affairs to identify project funding opportunities, share donor insights and collaborate and support the development of other fundraising initiatives.
- Take part and contribute to team meetings.
- Actively participate in the staff appraisal scheme and be committed to training and development in line with RABI’s aims and objectives.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in a senior fundraising role, with a proven track record in securing major funds from larger funders.
- Exceptional major donor management skills, with experience in donor stewardship, partnership development and engagement strategies that build long-term relationships.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of targeting, segmentation and response analysis.Persuasive written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling applications, proposals and donor communications. Capable of tailoring messaging for different audiences and ensuring clarity, consistency and emotional impact.
- Experience of managing a fundraising team and assisting with recruitment and team development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- A strategic outlook with the ability to identify fundraising opportunities and take the initiative to drive growth.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics). Familiarity with fundraising platforms and donor management systems.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise workload and meet deadlines. A creative and proactive approach to work, capable of juggling multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of data protection, fundraising regulations and compliance practices, ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to legal and best practice standards.

The Corporate Community Fundraiser will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated fundraising strategies that engage corporate partners and communities at local, regional and national levels. Working collaboratively with RABI’s Philanthropy and Partnerships team, this pivotal role will involve cultivating meaningful relationships with key stakeholders to increase income to support RABI’s purpose, strengthening relationships across the business sector and rural communities.
With a strong emphasis on relationship management and supporter stewardship, the Corporate Community Fundraiser will play a key role in shaping and developing sponsorship packages and offers, ensuring they are attractive and aligned with the interests of corporate partners and RABI’s fundraising goals.
This will involve helping tailor sponsorship opportunities for committee events, campaigns and initiatives that not only drive engagement but also maximise financial support.
In addition to developing corporate partnerships, the Corporate Community Fundraiser will be responsible for training and equipping regional volunteers (committee members and non-committee members) to identify and engage local corporate supporters, ensuring alignment with RABI’s broader corporate fundraising strategy. Supported by both centralised resources and volunteers, this role will play a crucial role in helping RABI achieve its ambitious five-year fundraising goal of £10 million.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Regional and Local Corporate Partnerships: Build and manage strong relationships with regional and local corporate partners and businesses to drive fundraising support. Identify and secure new partnerships to expand our donor base.
- Fundraising Strategy: Design and execute community-focused fundraising initiatives, including corporate sponsorships. Collaborate with the team to develop short and long-term fundraising goals.
- Event Planning and Execution: Plan and oversee fundraising events (e.g. agriculture show raffles/competitions, supporter-led, community and corporate) that engage corporate partners, their employees and the wider community. Work closely with the events lead, volunteers, committees, and regional teams to secure sponsorships, in-kind goods and services and local business support.
- Corporate Giving Programmes: Develop and promote programmes that encourage corporate involvement, such as matching gifts, employee volunteering (with support from Volunteering) and workplace giving initiatives.
- Outreach and Communication: Regularly engage with both local and regional corporate partners and community organisations through tailored communications, presentations and reports. Keep them informed of the impact of their contributions.
- Budget and Financial Management: Help coordinate the fundraising budget for corporate initiatives and ensure resources are used efficiently to meet fundraising goals.
- Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on the success of corporate partnerships. Analyse results to improve future strategies and share progress with internal stakeholders.
