Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to be working with a fantastic charity as they search for a part-time Supporter Data Officer to support them for an initial 3-month role.
This role supports the effective management of supporter and membership data, playing a crucial role in the smooth operation of membership systems and processes. The post-holder will ensure that data is handled compliantly, processes run efficiently, and supporter engagement is maintained at a high standard—particularly in relation to donations and membership payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and legally compliant supporter and membership data in the CRM system.
- Develop, implement, and review CRM data processes to improve the supporter journey.
- Coordinate the membership lifecycle including new joiners, renewals, reactivations, and cancellations.
- Foster strong working relationships with third-party service providers (e.g. mailing houses, call centres, recruitment partners).
- Handle all member enquiries professionally and promptly, aiming to enhance retention and increase member lifetime value.
- Manage payment processes including Direct Debits and alternative methods such as Standing Orders.
- Ensure the accurate recording and reconciliation of donations and membership fees.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with CRM systems to manage supporter or customer data.
- Understanding of data protection and legal compliance regarding data handling.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Experience in managing financial transactions and payment processes.
- Previous experience within a fundraising or membership-based organisation.
- Familiarity with Direct Debit administration and working with BACS or Payfile systems.
- Ability to liaise with external service providers and support cross-functional teams.

- This is a hybrid role, with just 1-2 days per-week in their Central Bristol office.
- A day rate of £98.81 to £118.58 per-day plus daily holiday for the successful candidate.

Major Donor Fundraising Manager

We have now have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and professional individual with outstanding relationship building and influencing skills to join the dedicated Fundraising Department.
Position: 1934 Major Gifts Manager
Location: This role is nominally based at our site based in Sidmouth, Devon – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – and we offer hybrid working. We are keen to make the role work for you, and will consider fully remote/home working and flexible working patterns, where required.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Monday 26 May 2025. However, we reserve the right to close this role early if a suitable candidate is found. Interviews will be held in Sidmouth, during the week commencing 16 June 2025.
About the Role
As Major Gifts Manager, you will provide expertise in Major Gifts, successfully developing the programme in line with agreed annual targets and our Fundraising Strategy. You will work closely with the Head of Major Gifts to evolve and continuously improve the major gift activity, bringing an integrated approach across the charity to deliver the most donor-centric activity, whilst continuously evaluating performance.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
• Inputting into and delivering the Major Gifts Strategy and improving the Major Gift portfolio and performance.
• Delivering and reporting on agreed projects, fundraising targets and KPIs.
• Proactively identifying and delivering new fundraising donors and income growth opportunities within Major Gifts.
• Leading on selected donor cultivation and stewardship projects to support sustainable income growth in Major Gifts, including events and other opportunities;
• Personally securing, managing and stewarding a portfolio of active Mid-Value, Major Donors and Charitable Trusts, forging and maintaining strong and enduring relationships.
• Supporting and growing the Major Gifts cultivation programme and pipeline to grow funders’ understanding of the diversity of the charity’s work.
• Being agile to changing market conditions and trends and working with the Head of Major Gifts to relay this into cultivation and stewardship.
About You
With experience of managing, cultivating, and delivering major gifts, and of planning future major gifts pipeline, you will have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding personal fundraising targets.
You will also have:
• A demonstrable record of building excellent stewardship and successful relationships with supporters at all levels including high net worth supporters, charitable trusts and other major donors.
• Well-developed knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and interpretation of programme performance.
• Demonstrable experience of project budget management/reporting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• The ability to multi-task and work with several conflicting demands and timescales.

More about the role
As our Data Manager, you will be responsible for optimising the flow of data into our CRM system, provide oversight of the data lifecycle and ensure data is governed by the necessary policies and processes, which includes data on the pets we help, their guardians and supporters of Blue Cross.
You will be the Blue Cross lead on CRM data and will champion and contribute to the delivery of our data strategy, supporting our vision for our information to be trusted, accessible and used to change the lives of pets and people.
Working closely with Information Services colleagues, you will assist in the evolution and maintenance of the data lake(s)/repositories within the organisation, with a focus on leading the governance of organisational data.
About you
You will be a highly experienced data professional and a keen innovator with a passion for finding new and more effective ways to ingest and migrate data.
With your significant knowledge and awareness of data management best practice, including ensuring data compliance, you will have experience in processes and routines that mean the highest data quality is achieved.
You will be an innovative and inspiring manager of people, with a desire to stretch yourself and your team, you will provide coaching and mentoring to ensure Blue Cross adopts new and more effective ways to ingest and migrate data.
You will be adept at discussing technical subject matter with non-technical audiences, to share knowledge and promote the team’s capabilities across the organization.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Extensive experience in data management and working with a variety of database solutions
- Proven experience of developing data systems and processes to increase efficiencies
- Experience of working in a data governance role with responsibility for personal data used in a database marketing environment (including strong knowledge of the UK GDPR)
- Experience of collaborating with technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to adapt communication approach to meet the needs of different audiences and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels
- Understanding of issues in complex organisations of migrating data, whilst achieving and maintaining quality control to ensure that data is of a high standard
- Strong knowledge of data quality and data governance principles – Master Data Management, Metadata management, Data mapping, data cataloguing

What you will do:
This is a vital role in our Fundraising team, where you will be working with individuals, organisations, schools and small businesses in the local areas across Scotland to raise income and awareness for Canine Partners. You will recruit, manage and inspire fundraising volunteers to support us to raise much-needed funds. You will be passionate about stewarding existing relationships and cultivating news ones, ensuring an outstanding donor experience.
