The Baby Charter is a national accreditation programme being undertaken by most neonatal units in the UK. What will you do? 

You will work with a highly motivated staff and volunteer team to deliver a quality outreach advice and support service for individuals with an acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire.

We value transferrable skills and are particularly interested to receive applications from candidates who have experience of managing a client caseload and of working to empower and support vulnerable adults.

Under the direction of the CEO at Headway Gloucestershire, you will work alongside clients with complex needs to support their recovery, wellbeing, independence and autonomy, working towards agreed goals and recording key outputs and outcomes. This might include:-

1. Providing brain injury recovery information and advice, working with compensation situations and making referrals to clinicians and health providers.

We provide specialist recovery support and respite through our centre-based Enablement Service and outreach support through our Community Links service.

Our centre-based Enablement Service is the heart of Headway Gloucestershire. We are looking for a Finance Officer at Cruse Bereavement Support. You will assist the Finance Team in maintaining accurate financial records of the charity. The work will involve processing sales orders and invoices, customer receipts and credit control. The role also includes completing bank reconciliations, processing expenditure and liaising with suppliers to ensure the account statements are accurate, and preparing accruals and prepayment schedules.  This is a unique opportunity to gain experience at a national charity and help make a difference.

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) is looking to engage the services of a results-oriented consultant with great people skills to set up CAP projects in high harm areas.

About Us

CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.

A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.

· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.

· Raise the profile of CAPs in Scotland and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.

Specific duties to include the following:

o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.

o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.

o Liaise as appropriate with strategic leads within local enforcement authorities and other partner organisations to initiate and complete agreed actions.

o Encourage all projects to achieve positive local media coverage including via social media and regional news/broadcast media.

o Ensure that all projects carry out as a minimum a baseline (pre-CAP) evaluation and post intervention evaluation following the CAP evaluation framework and project management survey tools.

o Produce a monthly progress report on all schemes and pipeline activity.

o Attend and participate in regular CAP update meetings on Microsoft teams (x12 pa).

o Assist with event planning and profile-raising opportunities such as MSP visits to CAP projects.

Skills, attributes and experience

• Essential to the role will be the ability to persuade key stakeholders at local and national level of the need to address underage drinking problems and to facilitate effective and dynamic local partnerships involving any/all of the following sectors: local authorities, education, child protection, social services, public health, Alcohol and Drug Partnerships, police, retailers and licensing.
• Excellent organisational and sound project management skills.
• Great people skills with the ability to build consensus and motivate partners to play a role in timely delivery of an agreed action plan.
• Act as an ambassador for CAP at meetings and events including parliamentary events.

Remuneration: Consultancy fee of £320 per day depending on experience. Work will depend on ability to generate interest in setting up new CAPs but we anticipate as a guideline engaging a minimum of 2.5 days of consultancy per week or around 100 days per annum. All reasonable and agreed travel expenses will be paid in line with invoice arrangements.

About the Role

As Emotional and Mental Wellbeing (EMW) Practitioner, you will offer specialist interventions to staff and volunteers seeking emotional and mental health support and will provide advice to a team of volunteer Mental Health First Aiders. Specialist support provided will include a wide range of approaches, including assessment, information, applied psychosocial interventions, health promotion, and illness prevention services. Liaison with external agencies will also be required to ensure excellent support for staff and volunteers with acute emotional and mental wellbeing needs.

Introduction to the role

Reporting to the Head of Membership and Operations, the Business Development and Partnership Manager will play a crucial role in driving sustainable growth and cultivating strategic partnerships that align with the organisation's core mission and values. This newly created position aims to strengthen our expansion efforts and help us adapt to the changing landscape of care and support for disabled people.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development and Partnership Manager who will lead initiatives to identify, develop, and manage partnerships that can drive significant growth and enhance our market presence. This role will also focus on existing revenue streams and explore new areas for development and growth. The position requires exceptional relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of partnership management. It also requires a strategic approach that blends attention to detail and results-oriented delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, along with a proven track record of successful partnership management and revenue growth. As we continue with our growth plans, this role will be essential in advancing our organisational goals and objectives while fostering an environment both internally and externally that draws in expertise and insight from beyond our membership.

Purpose of role

The role will:

· Formulate and nurture strategic partnerships with corporate partners and non-profit organisations.

· Coordinate with colleagues for alignment of activities with organisational goals.

Specific responsibilities and duties

Business Development Strategy and Implementation 

· Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and secure partnership opportunities. 

· Identify and explore innovative areas for development and growth.

· Set clear goals and objectives to measure the success of business development efforts. Analyse market trends and the competitive landscape to inform partnership strategies.

Partnership Development and Relationship Management 

· Identify and engage potential partners while building and maintaining strong relationships with existing stakeholders. 

· Serve as the main point of contact for key partners, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. 

Opportunity Identification and Market Research 

· Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships that align with organisational goals, including new membership opportunities.

· Conduct market research to recognise trends, opportunities, and challenges in the sector, analysing competitor activities to inform strategies.

· Deliver on existing opportunities and identify new ones, including sponsorship activities for events, projects, programmes, work, events and conferences, and smaller strategic roundtables.

Negotiation and Contract Management 

· Lead detailed negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring favourable terms for both parties, and oversee contract management to ensure compliance and performance monitoring.

Collaboration and Project Management 

· Work closely with internal colleagues to align partnership initiatives with business objectives, managing execution to ensure initiatives align with organisational priorities. 

· Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate campaigns and promotional events effectively.

Performance Tracking and Financial Management 

· Monitor and analyse partnership performance, using data to refine strategies and maximise impact. Prepare regular updates on business development activities and partnership outcomes. 

· Prepare budgets and financial forecasts related to business development activities, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of initiatives and partnerships.

Networking and Representation 

· Represent the organisation at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote business development initiatives and cultivate a strong professional network for future partnerships. 

·Engage in community outreach and represent the organisation in public forums to expand its network and promote its mission

You'll work closely with the founders and our amazing volunteer team to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations, and take the lead on process improvement across all operational functions.

A Good Thing is a fast-growing circular economy app, making it easy for businesses to donate unwanted items to local charities. We have over 2,000 charities and 800 businesses using the platform, donating items ranging from bricks, branded umbrellas and envelopes to laptops, trainers and bamboo poles.

We are a volunteer-run, non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) looking to hire an Operations Lead on a 6-month contract with a view to becoming our first permanent, employed member of staff.

A unique opportunity – about the role

This is a very expansive role, requiring a highly capable, dynamic, organised and self-motivated individual. 

As part of this role, you will:

Manage day-to-day app activity

• Review and manage business ‘offers’ and charity ‘needs’

• Provide the first response to inbound enquiries and support questions

• Verify eligibility of new charity sign-ups

• Process premium business account purchases and renewals

Support regional volunteer teams

• Onboard and train new volunteers

• Coordinate volunteer activity across the regional teams

Support ad-hoc projects, for example:

• Assist with the introduction and adoption of new app features

• Coordinate in-person events and conferences

• Conduct research for growth and partnership initiatives 

Lead operational maturity and process improvement

• Identify opportunities for automation and self-service to enable us to scale efficiently

• Identify and implement ways to scale volunteer activity

• Own the reporting of KPIs (e.g. app activity)

• Develop and maintain policies for business regulations and compliance

• Establish basic employment/HR processes (for you to become employee #1)

• Assist with and simplify bookkeeping and financial reporting

How we work

This is a part-time role, but in order to support daily activity on the app, we require someone who can be flexible and spread their working hours across a five-day week.

We are a *fully-remote* organisation, meeting regularly on video calls and using messaging (Google Chat) day-to-day. We love to get together for events when we can.
