Key Responsibilities

• Act as Company Secretary for Alzheimer's Society and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House requirements.
• Provide trusted advice to the Chair, Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team on their legal, fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities.
• Oversee governance arrangements, ensuring effective information flow and clear decision-making structures across the organisation.
• Develop and lead a team of Governance professionals, promoting a culture of high performance, collaboration, accountability and inclusivity.
• Lead the design and continual improvement of our governance framework, embedding transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision making.
• Serve as Whistleblowing Officer for the Society, and champion integrity and openness in all governance processes.
• Support the governance team to deliver efficient Board and Committee meetings, forward planning, and statutory reporting.
• Foster strong relationships across teams, embedding governance and compliance as enablers of effective, ethical leadership.

About the role

As our National Lead for Domestic Abuse, you will:

• Lead the development and delivery of a national approach and best practice for domestic abuse services, working collaboratively with internal experts and stakeholders.
• Drive the continual improvement of service quality, embedding robust procedures, quality assurance frameworks, and evidence-based practice.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of resources, tools, and interventions that support victims and enhance service effectiveness.
• Champion co-production with victims, ensuring their experiences inform service design and delivery.
• Support the development of funding bids and new service opportunities, working closely with the Business Development Team.
• Build and nurture relationships across the organisation to ensure consistent, high-quality support for people affected by domestic abuse.

About you

You will have:

• Demonstrable experience developing and delivering services for victims of domestic abuse, ensuring accessibility and engagement for people with diverse backgrounds and needs.
• In-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system and its impact on victims.
• Experience working in partnership to support domestic abuse service development and delivery.
• Proven ability to engage with victims in co-production, and a strong appreciation of the dynamics of domestic abuse in different settings.

Climate Spring is a global organisation dedicated to transforming how the climate crisis is represented in mainstream entertainment. Funded by philanthropic foundations, we work in partnership with creators, production companies, broadcasters and streamers to develop projects with the potential to shift the narrative on climate. 

Our team is made up of people with experience in commissioning, producing and working in development who understand the complexities of the development process, and who work collaboratively to bring the project to life. Our priority is for the projects we support to reach and engage audiences.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced and creative Development Producer, to provide development support for and oversee development projects on our growing development slate.

The Development producer will help manage the ideas that are submitted to the development fund, prepare and take part in editorial meetings, and build relationships with production companies that are serviced by Climate Spring, and help form new working relationships within the industry.

The development producer will assist the Head of Unscripted in preparing and delivering creative sessions to production companies and stakeholders. They will also help manage our unscripted contacts and prepare for community-building events with unscripted labels and talent.

You have a track record working on or developing unscripted formats a have good eye for commercially viable ideas for broadcasters streamers and online. A knowledge or experience with ad-funded content, whilst not essential, could be helpful.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project managing funded TV development projects. This involves having regular meetings with production companies, industry bodies and experts.

• Working with the head of unscripted to prepare for editorial and funding meetings.

• Contributing to the editorial decisions made by Climate Spring

• Attending meetings with production companies – remotely and occasionally in person.

• Building relationships with development teams at different production companies

• Working with the head of development and other stakeholders to create new IP with strong climate narratives.

• Managing our submissions slate and funded development slate.

MINIMUM ROLE CRITERIA:

• Passion for climate and environmental issues

�� About the Role

We are recruiting an EYFS curriculum lead to join Oak’s Education Team. Many schools using Oak’s new KS1-4 curricula have asked if we have plans to further develop our Reception offer, and as part of the DfE’s Best Start in Life strategy they have commissioned us to refresh our Reception curriculum and lessons ready to use for the 2027-28 school year.

This is a unique opportunity to join Oak in ensuring that our existing Reception lessons developed in the pandemic can be updated to be in-class exemplar curricula and lesson resources to support teachers fully aligned to latest evidence, best practice and the EYFS framework; we expect that to achieve this they will be different to the lessons we made with partners to support remote education in the pandemic. The successful candidate will work closely with partners within and outside of Oak to oversee the iteration of our Reception curriculum and lesson design and then produce resources across learning areas (excluding phonics). They will also be a visible ambassador and spokesperson for EYFS and for Oak National Academy. 

EYFS knowledge, experience, curriculum leadership, delivery and collaboration skills are critical for this role.

This is a full-time role with an expected start date of April 2026, though we can explore an earlier start with the successful candidate. We will consider flexible working requests. You’ll work predominantly remotely, joining colleagues in person only for occasional events and team activities. Our core collaboration days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

�� What You’ll Be Doing

• Responsible for the continuous improvement of full curriculum packages in the Reception year.

• Maintain specialist expertise in EYFS and be the authority across Oak and more widely across the sector.

• Using our programme management and curriculum design approach, and working with our curriculum partners, lead the redevelopment of Oak’s curriculum and resources in Reception.

�� What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years experience of teaching and/or leadership in EYFS settings.

• Extensive knowledge of latest research and practice in curriculum design, instruction and assessment in EYFS.

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) with direct experience of teaching in a school/schools in England in EYFS and Key Stage 1.

• Experience of teacher development e.g. EYFS Phase Lead; University PGCE or SCITT mentor/lead.

• Proven success managing high profile and sensitive senior relationships. 

• Experience of curriculum design and delivery across subjects in EYFS.

The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in all areas to ensure Oak is successful. You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. As part of the government’s Best Start in Life strategy, the Department for Education has asked Oak to redevelop our reception resources so teachers can access optional, adaptable, high-quality materials to support their work in the classroom and help them manage workload.

As you know, Oak set up during the pandemic to support teachers and pupils with remote learning. At this time Oak developed a range of resources for reception.

While usage was high during the pandemic, these resources are not really suitable for reception teachers to use in class and an update is needed.

Over the last few years Oak has redeveloped all of its curriculum and lesson resources for key stages 1-4 across all national curriculum subjects for in-class use. They are very popular and used by around one in three teachers. You are probably familiar with their structure.

However, we’ll be taking a different approach for the updated reception content. At this age, children are best supported to develop in a different way so our reception resources will be designed to reflect their developmental and educational needs, and our resources will support the pedagogical needs of reception teachers. They will be developed using the best evidence of effective learning at this age and on the basis of best practice in the sector.

To make sure we get this right, we’ll be working closely with reception teachers, expert organisations and the wider early years sector to develop our resources. We’ll also create straightforward ways for reception teachers to explore the materials early on and share their thoughts as they develop.

Oak will be recruiting an EYFS curriculum specialist to lead this engagement with the sector and work with the Oak team to develop our product, the curriculum sequence and accompanying resources. We will share and iterate as we develop the new product and resources, and intend to have these ready in summer 2027 in time to teach in the 2027-28 academic year.

These updated reception resources will support children to make a smooth, successful progression from reception to key stage 1. They won’t cover phonics, as this is already well served by other providers, but they will fully align to the phonics approach.

And, as with all Oak resources, everything we produce will be high-quality, adaptable and entirely optional. They will comprise a model teachers can explore, draw on and adapt in ways that best suit their own curriculum and the needs of their pupils.

Terms: 30 hours per week / 0.8 FTE, 4 days per week; two year contract with possibility for extension

Salary: £41,200 - £56,650

Location: Remote working and quarterly in-person team away days.

The Role

BASIC is seeking an experienced and strategic Communications Manager to lead and implement effective communication strategies that amplify our mission, enhance our brand identity, and strengthen engagement with key audiences. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a proactive approach to storytelling, and the ability to collaborate across the organisation to ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Manager will play a central role in shaping BASIC’s external presence, working across programmes to craft compelling narratives for social media, the website, and other digital platforms, as well as press contacts.

The Communications Manager will be the point of contact for all communication activity and will be responsible for setting the strategy and communicating this to the team. As an organisation, BASIC is keen to develop brand identity, particularly amongst our programmes and the Communications Manager will be instrumental in developing this work. 

Key Responsibilities

Organisational Communications & Strategy

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with BASIC’s mission and objectives including a strong link to impact.

• Lead the evolution of our social media strategy, ensuring increased engagement and impact.

• Develop and implement strategic online communication plans to enhance BASIC’s digital presence, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging across all platforms.

• Oversee BASIC’s branding and identity development, ensuring consistency across programmes and platforms. This includes: organisational brand asset, image, review and refresh.

• Act as BASIC’s press officer, managing media engagement, journalistic contacts, and public relations.

• Plan and execute BASIC’s website redevelopment strategy, including better functionality for fundraising efforts and overseeing all aspects of website content/management.

• Draft, edit, and manage organisational newsletters using MailChimp/MailerLite, ensuring clear, engaging, and audience-focused content that aligns with BASIC’s communications strategy.

• Provide communications training to staff, fostering a culture of shared responsibility for communications.

• Create promotional materials to advance BASIC’s initiatives.

Programme Responsibilities

• Develop and execute tailored communications plans for specific programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and effective audience engagement.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Education, Business, Fundraising)

The role

As Project Manager of a new, three-year partnership project working with military support organisations, you will lead the planning, delivery and performance monitoring of a national programme offering bereavement support to those affected by military deaths. This role requires a balance of excellent organisational skills, partnership management and internal project team management. You will also be expected to have or develop a compassionate understanding of the sensitivities surrounding grief, trauma and military culture.

The postholder will be responsible for implementing project structures, ensuring the delivery of all aspects of the programme, reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders, resolving challenges and providing persuasive and effective leadership of the project to strengthen the networks of care within military and civilian communities.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to join the Stroke Recovery Service across Birmingham and Solihull.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11327 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Birmingham and Solihull. However, regular travel will be required as part of this role (will include team meetings and other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week

Salary: Circa £16,400 per annum (FTE circa £27,435 per annum)

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the coordinator will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.

The Role

BASIC is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead our finance function during a period of sustained growth. The Financial Controller will work across Programme teams ensuring strong financial management and reporting to funding partners, maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with charity finance regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to our Directors and Board of Trustees.

The Financial Controller will oversee the small finance team, including line management of a Finance Assistant and management of an external bookkeeper consultant. This team will be responsible for the majority of financial accounting, processing payroll, and accurate bookkeeping, for which the Financial Controller will be ultimately accountable.

The role includes managing restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with funder requirements and programme needs, preparing statutory accounts for external audit, and overseeing payroll processing. This role reports directly to the Executive Director to prepare annual budgets and financial strategy, and works closely with the Board's Financial Development Committee to present its implementation.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills, experience in charity finance, and a proven track record of effective financial management of a growing organisation. You should be comfortable both managing a small team and working hands-on when needed, building collaborative relationships across the organisation. You will need to be a multitasker with the ability to work at pace, and be willing to develop the finance function and best practices to enable the organisation to grow further.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting and Reporting

• Oversee the maintenance of accurate financial records and bookkeeping in accordance with charity accounting standards (SORP)

• Prepare monthly management accounts including variance reporting and rolling forecasts

• Prepare annual statutory accounts and manage the annual independent audit process in its entirety

• Manage restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with funder requirements

• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the Board of Trustees, Executive Director, and funding partners

Financial Operations

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations including payment processing, staff expenses, and cost allocation (including staff costs)

• Oversee monthly payroll using QuickBooks (led by Finance Assistant)

• Manage treasury functions including bank and cash management

• Oversee procurement of key assets such as IT equipment

• Cashflow management

Grant and Budget Management

• Support budget development for funding bids and proposals

• Monitor spend against grants and projects, working towards full cost recovery

• Prepare financial reports for donors and funding partners

• Lead annual budget-setting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the Board and Executive Director

Financial Systems and Controls

• Develop and maintain robust financial systems, processes, and controls

• Continuously improve finance processes and identify efficiencies

• Advise on financial governance and best practice

• Manage financial risks and opportunities (e.g., insurance, foreign exchange)

Team Management and Stakeholder Relations

• Line manage the Finance Assistant and oversee external bookkeeper consultant

• Build collaborative relationships across the organisation

• Manage relationships with key external stakeholders including banks, international transfer services, and audit partners

• Work closely with the Board's Financial Development Committee and BASIC's Treasurer

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or part-qualified with significant relevant experience
• Proven experience in a mid-level to senior finance role, with responsibility for financial accounting and reporting
• Experience managing restricted and unrestricted funds
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing audit processes
• Experience in a growing organisation, implementing and improving financial systems and controls
• Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of financial controls
• Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency with accounting software (experience with QuickBooks highly desirable)
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
• Proactive and solutions-oriented, with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Comfortable working hands-on when needed while also providing strategic oversight
• Ability to work at pace in a fast-growing organisation

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in charity finance and understanding of charity accounting standards (SORP)
• Experience line managing finance staff

LGBTQ+ Veterans Community Worker (VCW) – 1 post.

£29,400 per annum, pro rata, based on 37.5 hours per week.
Based in the Midlands region.
Remote worker (with some face-to-face activity across the Midlands region).
Fixed Term Contract – 32 months.
Full time hours for the first 20 months and 0.7 FTE for the following 12 months.  These hours are in line with grant funding. 

Fighting With Pride (FWP) is looking for an outstanding regionally focused LGBTQ+ Veterans Community Worker covering the West and East Midlands region (Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, West Midlands, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire). 

For a fixed term contract of 32 months, this fundamental, enabling, rewarding and busy role will make a real difference to the lives of LGBTQ+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families, around the UK.  You will be working as part of team of VCWs covering England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.  The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT) are funding this post.

FWP was formed in January 2020 to support LGBTQ+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families and is a registered charity, founded by Caroline Paige and Craig Jones, now led by Peter Gibson and overseen by a dynamic and experienced Board of Trustees.   

An increasing number of Veterans are contacting our charity, particularly since the publication of the Etherton Report, and we want to add to our exceptional team to support them.  You will be signposting service users to organisations where they will receive a warm welcome and will develop their self-esteem, self-confidence, independence and resilience, and working those organisations to enable positive LGBTQ+ inclusion. In addition, you will be highlighting access to the scheme of reparations arising from the Etherton Report.

An LGBTQ+ Veterans Community Team Manager will support you, along with the Executive team at FWP.

You will have a keen interest in, and thorough understanding of, the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ Veterans community (or other related community), previous experience of supporting and developing service users, strong relationship building skills and be a self-starter with a passion for helping people.
