The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of a group of three specialist services, which support a total of seven customers with moderate to high support needs to live in their own homes. The role will provide line management for a Deputy Manager and support teams, ensuring that compliance with organisational, legal regulations and those of the local authority are adhered to and the quality of support is of the highest standard possible, ensuring excellent quality of life for customers and a good working environment for colleagues. A great opportunity has risen for a Prospect Research Manager to support our ambitious 5-year strategy, using your research and data skills to increase the size and quality of our high value pipeline of Trusts and Major Donor prospects.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You will take ownership of the prospect research function, leading on the identification and qualification of prospects with a particular focus on high value (£50k+) prospects across Trusts + Foundations and Major Donors. You will work closely with fundraising teams and senior stakeholders to create insightful research profiles, conduct network mapping and due diligence reports, and align prospect research with key organisational fundraising priorities. Using our CRM system, you will use your data and analysis skills to create reports and track KPIs to monitor the strength and health of the prospect pipeline and fundraiser portfolios to drive income.

You will have excellent communication skills, and an ability to translate complex information from a range of sources into easily digestible reports and briefings. Able to work independently and as part of a team, you will take pride in producing high-quality and data-driven work. You will be a confident user of CRM and IT systems, with experience of analysing varied sources of data to grow prospect pipelines and a robust understanding of due diligence and data protection laws.

About the Role

The HR Operations Lead will report to the Director of Finance and Operations and will be responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of all HR operations and processes across the organisation. This is a standalone generalist role, ideal for someone confident in managing core HR functions while building strong relationships across a collaborative team. It offers real variety, autonomy and the opportunity to drive positive change in a purpose-led, creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, contractual changes and offboarding
• Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR and internal HR policies
• Act as first point of contact for HR queries, providing timely and professional advice
• Maintain and optimise the HR system (Cezanne) and provide accurate HR data and reporting to senior leaders
• Develop and improve HR processes and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
• Support recruitment and selection processes, including inclusive hiring practices
• Coordinate learning and development activity in line with the organisational plan
• Lead the annual appraisal and mid-year review processes
• Work closely with the EDI working group to support and implement inclusive practices
• Support payroll and cross-functional operations in collaboration with Finance and IT colleagues
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices

About You

This role would suit an experienced HR generalist with a collaborative approach, who enjoys working in a small, values-led team.

Essential experience and skills include:

• Proven experience in HR operations, ideally in a standalone or SME setting
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, including the Equality Act
• Ability to manage systems and use HR data to generate insight
• Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Skilled in process improvement and implementing best practice
• Experience supporting inclusive recruitment and staff development
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills
• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) preferred

A background in the charity, arts or creative sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.
