An exciting opportunity for a Data Services Manager has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF). 

WCRF is the UK’s leading cancer prevention charity focusing on the link between cancer and risk factors such as diet, body weight and physical activity. 

We are seeking a Data Services Manager to lead and be responsible for the management, use and maintenance of systems and in-house CRM databases to support the achievement of the charity’s fundraising strategic objectives. You will be analysing and reviewing data and reporting on results that can then be used to build engagement with our supporters.You will also be responsible for a team of two people. 

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with industry standard fundraising software solutions in the charity sector, ideally have knowledge of Claris Filemaker products and will have experience of creating new, and maintaining and updating existing, complex database systems.Experience of creating scripts and troubleshooting existing scripts is key, along with considerable hands-on experience of working with complex data sources, transfers and imports. An understanding and working knowledge of Data Protection regulations is required.

About the Role

Too many young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) face a sharp drop in support as they transition into adulthood. This role sits within an ambitious new programme, Ending the Cliff Edge, designed to change that.

As Partnerships and Best Practice Lead, you will play a central role in building a national, cross-sector alliance of young people, families, practitioners, organisations and service providers. Together, this alliance will drive meaningful reform and create better pathways into adulthood for disabled young people.

This is an opportunity to help shape a new initiative from the ground up—spreading best practice, testing innovative approaches, and building strong evidence of what works.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a broad collaborative partnership of cross‑sector organisations, providers, and experts to achieve collective ambition of driving improvement in transitions support.
• Refine, capture and share best‑practice models for supporting disabled young people into adulthood, ensuring they are evidence‑informed and accessible.

About the role

• Manage Sense’s stories database and play a leading role in ensuring the most compelling stories feature across our media, campaigns, fundraising and wider communications and content.

This role sits within the Trusts & Foundations team in the Relationships & Partnerships division and focuses on securing and managing high-value grants of £50k+. You will build and manage relationships with funders, develop compelling funding applications and reports, and oversee grant management and compliance. You will have a strong track record of securing significant trust and foundation income in the UK and/or Europe, with experience managing complex applications from prospecting through to stewardship. Following a record year of fundraising, we are now investing in our data capability and are recruiting a Database Officer to take ownership of our CRM and supporter data.

About the role

You will lead the management, governance and development of our Salesforce CRM, ensuring that fundraising and engagement activity is underpinned by high-quality, reliable data.

This role combines:

Our client supports children, young people and families facing bereavement, as well as parents and carers of children with life-limiting conditions, providing specialist services, training and support across the UK. Location

Hybrid (most ASH staff go into our Vauxhall office 1-2 days per week. However, we are open to fully remote working for the right candidate). This is a UK-based role; applicants must have the right to work in the UK for at least two years to be considered. ASH is unable to sponsor working visas.

About ASH

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) is a leading public health charity working to eliminate the harm caused by tobacco. We work with government, parliamentarians, the NHS, researchers and civil society to deliver policies that reduce smoking and support people to quit, with the ultimate aim of ending smoking in the UK.

A key part of ASH’s work is supporting and convening professional networks that bring together organisations and experts working to reduce smoking harms across different sectors.

Purpose of the Role

The Stakeholder Engagement and Network Co-ordinator will support and strengthen several of ASH’s key professional networks, ensuring they operate effectively and maximise their impact on policy and practice. The post holder will maintain strong engagement with network members, facilitate collaboration across sectors, and ensure insights from networks inform ASH’s policy and communications work.

The role will also lead on the development of a new Lived Experience Network, enabling people with current or past experience of smoking to inform ASH’s policy work.

In addition, the post holder will support organisations to sign up to and engage with the newly launched Pledge for a Smokefree UK, helping to build a broad coalition of support for ending smoking.

Over the coming year it is anticipated that there will be a high volume of government consultations on tobacco as government prepares to implement the powers in the Tobacco and Vapes Act. The input of our professional networks into these consultations will be an additional priority.

Essential

• Experience coordinating networks, coalitions, partnerships or stakeholder groups
• Excellent interpersonal skills with any ability to manage challenging relationships, ensure compromise and rally stakeholders around a unified message
• Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders across health, policy and voluntary sectors.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst delivering to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail, in particular in written communications.
• Interest in public health policy and health inequalities.
• Ability to take complex or controversial topics and communicate them in a clear, easy to understand way with clear actions to take.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from concept to completion.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.

Desirable

• Experience working in public health, health policy or the voluntary sector.
• Experience supporting events, meetings or stakeholder engagement activities.
• Experience involving people with lived experience in policy or advocacy work.
