The Role

This position will support the Education and Workforce team in its mission to build a thriving, diverse physics teaching community and will see you support the operational delivery of the Scholarships Programme, including the recruitment, assessment and selection of Scholars, and the two-year support programme.

What will I be doing?

Working for our Strategic Implementation Manager the focus will be on leading on the operational delivery of the IOP Teacher Training Scholarships. Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing support to the Strategic Implementation Manager in relation to the Scholarships budget, including creating budget forecasts and quarterly invoices.
• Working with our internal Marketing Department to shape the marketing programme and evaluating the effectiveness of our various advertising channels – including our webinar series.
• To manage applications, including setting up and maintaining the online application form, screening ineligible candidates, obtaining references from referees, collating applications for the shortlisting process and assessment panels.
• Data management and storage, including providing data and analysis to facilitate monthly/quarterly reporting and invoicing to the DfE, ensuring candidate and Scholar data is captured, maintained and deleted according to the IOP policy guidelines, supporting the tracking of scholars through their initial training and into teaching.  Including, supervising the consultant in charge of the data capture of the status and wellbeing of Scholars.

Who will I work with?

You will be line managed by the Strategic Implementation Manager and support the Manager Teaching Workforce in the delivery of their projects. 

Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if your skills include:

Essential Criteria

• Experience of working in a project-based environment with significant internal and external stakeholder interest. Note that formal project management qualifications are not a requirement.
• Sustained and confident working knowledge of MS Excel and handling data
• Skilled in the administration and PM of multiple projects and ensuring quality assurance through evaluation, reporting and monitoring processes and documentation.

Nice to have

• This role does not require physics subject knowledge or teaching experience, but these would be an advantage.
• Website maintenance experience
• Experience using customer relationship management software, such as Salesforce.

About the Role:

As a Deputy Head of Service for Performance & Quality you will:

• proactively analyse data from diverse sources, transforming it into powerful & useful insights for our service

Additionally, they contribute to developing service standards, follow policies and legislation, report maintenance issues, and undertake additional duties as required, always upholding health and safety rules and procedures.

Flexibility and resilience are also key, with the need to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, while maintaining high service standards in unpredictable or challenging situations. An understanding of basic building safety issues and the ability to identify repairs is desirable. Role Purpose: Carry out actions in support of the strategy set out in the Business Plan. Key responsibilities include: Strategy and Business Development and to lead the fundraising effort MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with the Board of Trustees to develop the overall Business Strategy

· Lead the Fundraising programme, with a target income of £100,000 + per annum new funds

GENERAL

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

• provide administrative support to the governing body, for example: co-ordinating calendar of dates for governing body meetings and preparing agendas, taking notes at meetings for the preparation of minutes and ensuring that all decisions are recorded accurately and objectively, including timescales for actions

• Support the implementation and effective use of New Governance Software and lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings. Update and maintain a database of Governance information, ensuring secure handling of confidential data and information in compliance with College Policy and the General Data Protection Regulations.

• support the development and performance of governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties

• offer advice to governors and the college on the correct governance procedures and how to improve governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure a high level of governor engagement by ensuring an up-to-date calendar of opportunities, appropriate communications and effective tracking and gathering of feedback

As Governance and Performance Manager

• Support the College’s internal governance function, providing administrative support in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes/minutes. Lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings and in systems and Processes to improve efficiency.

• Work with the Executive Leadership Team and wider leadership team to co-ordinate regular strategy updates and report on progress against strategic goals and agreed KPIs.

• Input into, and support with the co-ordination of the College’s Wider Leadership Forum and All-Staff sessions.

• Update and Maintain the College’s Risk Register and Master Policy Schedule.

• Assist with co-ordinating internal audit reviews in accordance with approved internal audit plan.

• Receive and co-ordinate timely responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

• Be a collaborative, enthusiastic member of the College’s wider leadership team, working closely with Staff and Governors to help deliver our ambitious strategy.

• Undertaking other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the Chair or Director of Finance and Compliance.

We are UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to approximately 8,500 frontline charities and community groups.  Every week we provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.

For designated top food partners, you will be their day to day point of contact with regular face to face contact at all levels. You will undertake structured, strategic account management, leading and coordinating FareShare’s engagement across our organisation. This will mean agreeing and executing a bespoke joint business plan with each account to get more food, money and strategic support. You will also feedback on ways that we can better support our accounts and improve our services to them.

The Role

This role will identify, develop and manage top food partners relationships and strengthen existing business relationships with companies in the food industry, generating value for the partner and to secure growing and sustainable volumes of surplus food for the FareShare Network.
You will work directly and be on-site with top food partners to help identify and overcome the barriers which exist to giving surplus food to people in need as well as increasing money and strategic resource.
You will also be required to work closely with FareShare colleagues within FareShare and across the UK in our partner organisations in order to identify and understand opportunities for creating mutual and shared value.

Main areas of responsibility

Partnership Management

• Contribute to the development of consistent, structured Joint Business plans with designated accounts that take into account food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources.
• Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution.
• Execute joint business plans and report internally and externally on progress.
• Research and understand your accounts, including key ESG initiatives, waste streams, key personnel within the organisation that will help drive its success and engage the relevant internal departments through both desked based research and face to face contact.
• Proactively drive account forwards and progress these relationships with regular on-site visits and linking FareShare exec with key contacts.
