We're seeking a passionate Childcare Worker to join our Sheffield team, working in an on-site nursery within a residential setting. This opportunity is at our unique, specialist family service. A place where parents experiencing addiction to drugs or alcohol come with their children to change their lives and determine their futures. We’re looking for skilled, dedicated and passionate staff to join us at our Sheffield Family Residential Service.

Within this role, a passion for providing outstanding care for children and displaying a positive attitude is required.  We work with families who have previously struggled with substance use therefore promoting a trusting, positive relationship is important within the role. You will be working in an on-site nursery within the residential setting where we have both a 0–2-year-old room and an over 2-year old’s room which the children attend.

The service is based close to Eccelsall Road/Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus area of Sheffield, it is easily accessible. Situated in a large Victorian Building, fully refurbished in 2022, there is free on-site parking as well and is also easily access by multiple bus routes.

Education Workers are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort. 

Reporting to: Director of Fundraising and Development 

Location of work: Remote with ad hoc time in the office for team days, events, campaigns and organisation away days.

Contract type:  Ideally full-time, 35 hours per week, 28 hours / flexible hours will also be considered. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work.

Our work has never been more needed. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.6 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 300,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.  Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.

 This is an exciting time to join Magic Breakfast if you wish to make a difference to the lives of children as we work to influence both policy implementation, with the national rollout of primary-aged universal school breakfast, and legislative change, through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. JOB PURPOSE  

The Fundraising and Development department is responsible for ensuring Magic Breakfast’s on-going sustainability through the generation of income and other critical non-financial support. The Department Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Development and other members of the Fundraising Leadership to facilitate closer alignment across the department, help unlock and enable income growth, whilst also providing administrative and coordination support to the team more broadly. The successful candidate will also play a critical role in developing and delivering the department-wide calendar of stewardship events, working with colleagues from across the major gifts team to identify opportunities to connect our supporters even further with the impact of our work 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Department Coordination  

• Work closely with the Director of Fundraising to coordinate effective planning and management of the Fundraising & Development (F&D) strategy by coordinating quarterly review and monthly Core Management Group (CMG) meetings and managing all aspects of the monthly F&D team meetings ensuring they have maximum impact for all individuals and the organisation. This includes managing actions, minutes and agendas

• Support with the planning, coordination and diary management for any department away days, planning or reflection sessions  

• Lead efforts to enhance synergies within and across the F&D and other departments, identifying and enabling opportunities to add value, enhance efficiencies and reduce siloed working, for example through reviewing current systems and facilitating opportunities for collaboration and support  

• Provide project management support for significant team level projects, including developing project timelines and plans using Asana (e.g., for the Magic Morning webinars process and the department’s involvement in giving campaigns or annual reports) 

• Work across the department to identify any gaps or updates required for process/ ‘how-to’ documents  

• Act as the department representative for Asana, systems and process champion, providing training to colleagues where necessary  

• Act as the department lead for other key internal groups such as the all staff away day.

Supporter Care  

• Support the Fundraising Officer where necessary to act as the key welcome point to people reaching out to support Magic Breakfast, responding to enquiries received on the phone, escalating and triaging queries where necessary.   

• With support from across the Department, develop and deliver a calendar of department wide engagement events, including group school visits, stakeholder events, thought leadership dinners, and our online ‘Magic Mornings’ - a speaker series where we invite funders to hear more about our work. 

• Lead on the planning, review and learning capture/ sharing for all events, and more broadly the stewardship calendar across the department.

• Work across the department to review cross-departmental stewardship and identify opportunities for improvement, collaboration and alignment to key objectives, either through events or other activities.  

• Ensure that all confidential donor data is stored and handled in accordance with data protection regulations and all records retained on Salesforce where required.  

Fundraising Administration  

• Provide general administration support to the Fundraising & Development department, working in collaboration with the admin network across the organisation. Potential tasks may include but are not limited to meeting logistics, booking venues for away days and accommodation/travel bookings 

• Develop and maintain accurate and efficient administration systems and tools to support the department, for example our intranet section  

• Manage the Department’s resources and order supplies  

• Assist the Gifts Officer with gift processing when required, including the processing of cheques, sending acknowledgements, and adding gifts to our CRM, Salesforce  

• Administrative support to the Director of Fundraising and Development as required, including pulling reports and occasional diary management   

• Ad-hoc support to other team members.   

• Support the department with scoping and research for new fundraising products or initiatives  

• Make purchases on behalf of the Fundraising and Development department in adherence with internal budget approval processes and delegation of authority  

General:   

• Support the Fundraising & Development team by attending events and working on collaborative initiatives  

• Attend meetings and cross-team working groups to represent the Fundraising and Development Department and its interests  

• As requested, provide regular updates to key stakeholders  

• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations

About This Role

Over the next three years, Smart Works Leeds want to expand and embed the service we offer within the Bradford district. Reaching unemployed women in Bradford is integral to our mission of increasing the number of women we support in 2025 and beyond.

Thanks to a successful grant application from Yorkshire Building Society Foundation, we now have the funding to expand the team and enhance our strategy. We are looking for a Bradford Outreach Lead to join us and support this exciting growth.

The Outreach Lead will work collaboratively with the Outreach Manager and will involve engaging new referral partners ensuring that they aware of the support available. Referral partners may be charities, job centres, community organisations or work programme providers. By attending meetings, events and employment fairs the Outreach Lead will share the service Smart Works offers and ensure the women who will benefit from the appointments are referred. The role will also involve delivering workshops to unemployed women across Bradford in various settings and managing a cohort of volunteers to help support these.

About the role:

This role is based at Lancaster Police Station. This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.

• Work with the Police safeguarding team to identify high risk victims of domestic abuse.

MSUK are seeking a passionate and proactive Community Engagement Officer to strengthen and grow our patient and family community. There are over 1500 IMDs and many of our community use social media, other patient groups and in-person events to connect and learn. This role is central to how we engage with the people we support — through social media, community groups, events, and collaborative partnerships. You’ll be the bridge between our charity and the people we serve, helping to build a supportive, inclusive, and informed community.  

Key Responsibilities 

Engagement & Social Media 

• Manage and monitor all online patient communities responding to community messages and comments with empathy and timeliness 

• Moderate relevant support online community groups, ensuring they are safe, active, and welcoming spaces 

• Identify themes and areas of interest to advocate internally for MSUK response to meeting community need 

• Signpost our Individual Support service, identify and flag individual enquiries to the Individual Support Lead 

• Working with our Campaign & Comms Lead, grow the charity’s presence across social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok) 

• Develop content that resonates with patients, families, and supporters, amplifying community stories and voices 

• Build and manage our lived experience co-production group ‘Metabolic Advisory Council’ 

Community Insight & Advocacy 

• Functioning as the ‘internal expert’ on IMD communities for all MSUK team members 

• Using our Contact Record Management system to log and manage community database to provide timely, relevant insight to team members when required 

• Work with Head of Insight & Advocacy to engage and support communities in relation to timelines for insight work 

Events & Campaigns 

• Plan, organise, and execute online and in-person community events (support groups, awareness days, family meetups, annual conference) 

• Collaborate with the team to deliver campaigns around awareness, fundraising, and education 

• Work with Virtual Support Assistant to coordinate speakers, logistics, communications, and follow-ups for all events with  

Relationship & Partnership Management 

• Build and maintain relationships with other patient advocacy groups, charities, and health organisations 

• Represent the charity at external events, meetings, and forums relevant to the rare disease space 

• Seek opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives 

Community Fundraising 

• Work with Fundraising lead on community support for individual and events fundraising including event research, donor journey support and online promotion

Do you want to help charities to change the lives of people most in need of help across Yorkshire and the Humber?

We have two permanent Funding Officer positions in the Yorkshire and the Humber regional team.

Join us as a Funding Officer and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the region. Working as part of the Yorkshire and the Humber team as part of a team of 20 colleagues you will combine hybrid working - either from home, our Leeds office adjacent to Leeds station, or project visits, to understand how and where amazing people and organisations are transforming neighbourhoods.

If you have previous experience for a funder, then that is great but it’s not a necessity.

• You will need to be confident with comprehension and writing because you will be working with those applying for grants to advise and support them as necessary to develop proposals including project budgets.
• You’ll work with your colleagues to assess and recommend projects for funding. Some days you’ll be attending funders fairs, in person or online, whilst on others you may be meeting with Councils or other funders to share information about need and funding in a particular neighbourhood.
• You’ll also have responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure they are on track. If you have experience of the voluntary sector that would be ideal, particularly in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
• Confident in writing, comprehension and with an understanding of budgets you will be passionate about supporting communities to build on their strengths to improve lives.

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a LifeSupply Facilitator to join our passionate LifeSupply Team at Causeway. As LifeSupply Facilitator, you will play a vital role in distributing material assistance to service users at Causeway. 

You will assist the LifeSupply Coordinator in organising and fulfilling donations of useful items such as bedding, sim cards and clothing to our service users; whilst also assisting on the smooth fulfilment of the Glasspool grant. This includes ensuring trackers are organised, up to date and meet the requirements necessary, whilst liaising with advocates about their applications. 

A key part of the role will be working from the storage unit in Hillsborough, Sheffield, photographing and valuing incoming donations of stock, along with LifeSupply volunteers, to keep the LifeSupply platform up to date with donations for the service users to choose from. The role will be split 50% in the storage unit, physically packing orders, photographing donations and organising the space, and 50% laptop-based work, completing Glasspool applications, valuing donations and maintaining trackers, which can be conducted at home or in the office. 

You will contribute on improving service user’s access to material assistance during their time at Causeway. Your work will help ensure that every service user has access to items which will improve their quality of life, such as clothing and homeware, and bridge the poverty gap that they often face.

Responsibilities:

Storage Unit Based 

Facilitating donations of items from the moment the donation is offered to Causeway to the donation being distributed to a service user which includes: 

• arranging delivery or collection of the items, 
• counting and tracking the items, photographing the items,
• valuing the items,

We are looking to employ a confident, bubbly, dynamic individual to undertake the role of an Activities Coordinator at our Day Centre for older people with a diagnosis of dementia based in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

The role is for 15 hours a week, spread across 3 days (5hrs a day) from 10am -3pm.

The role consists of organizing, planning and implementing a range of stimulating activities for up to 20 people a day.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the activities are prepared for the sessions in advance. You will also be responsible for monitoring how people engage and for adapting activities to the needs, likes and wishes of the service users.
