An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Community Fundraiser to join our Community Fundraising Team. 

Reporting to the Community Fundraising and Events Manager, you will support the team in generating vital income through professional community stewardship in a role where no two days are the same! 

You will support the local community, our supporters and volunteers, nurturing relationships and working with key partners and stakeholders to maximise income generation opportunities, attending community organised events. You will be joining a friendly team who will support you and help you to develop your skills. 

 To be successful, you will be a flexible team player, with some previous fundraising experience, ideally within a community setting. You will be available to work evenings and weekends, be a good organiser, have excellent customer service skills and an outgoing, friendly personality with a passion for fun and success. 

 You will need to be physically fit and able to safely move and handle event equipment, some of which is heavy. You will also need a driving licence (category B+E), access to a vehicle and be over 25 (an insurance requirement to drive the Hospice van).

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. About the role:

When a person or their family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience. For many it is a huge concern as to whether they will be able to return to their current occupation or employer or whether they will ever be able to work or volunteer again following their spinal cord injury.

Back Up’s vocation service aims to be the leader in supporting people with spinal cord injury to return to work and our Vocation Coordinators are the main point of contact to help service users reach their vocational goals. They work in partnership with spinal units and other stakeholders such as employers to raise aspirations, coordinating activities such as our Skills for Work courses and Careers Fair, as well as providing telephone support to service users.

You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational skills in person, in writing and on the telephone. You’ll enjoy planning and delivering work to see projects through; be that independently or as part of a wider team.

About the Youth Endowment Fund  

 We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.   

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.   

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.    

Our Change team does this by building excellent relationships and sharing evidence of what works with organisations and key individuals across the public, private, third sectors and local communities. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, proactive and highly organised Change and Events Officer to join our Change team to help us fulfil our mission.    

 Key responsibilities  

Most fundamentally, your job is to work as a member of our Change team to make sure we’re excellent at running events and managing relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll make sure the team is incredibly organised and has the support it needs to work effectively. Key responsibilities:  

• Event Organising. Help to organise events, from small roundtables to large in person conferences. You will help make sure events run brilliantly, from booking venues to managing invites and organising materials.   

• External Relationship Management Support. Provide support to the team in managing external relationships by scheduling meetings, organising workshops and developing materials.

Sibling Arts C.I.C. co-creates multi-arts projects with queer, trans, sex worker & migrant communities. Looking for a Finance & Administration Officer (FAO to lead on our financial and administrative needs, and grow with us as we do more ambitious projects with social impact at their core.

Our current projects:

• Delivering trans/non-binary hxstory via storytelling to young people KS3 & teacher training

• Organising an Arts Action Fair connecting grassroots artists, frontline campaigns, NGOs, demonstrating how community ownership makes better art

• Building on the success of our beloved musical theatre production Sex Worker's Opera to create a full-length feature film, branching into new artistic territory with new communities.

We are looking for a skilled, dynamic and conscientious individual to lead on our financial and administrative needs, and work with us to grow our organisation.

You will be one of four core staff roles in the organisation. After the first year there may be space for role to develop and expand.

You will lead on financial management, working closely with Directors to develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy.

The role will also feature core administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the organisation across contracting, insurance, monitoring equipment/assets and saving costs.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Strategy and Management

• Co-creating and monitoring budgets, org-wide and for projects

• Monitoring multiple income streams inc. sales, grants, investments

• Co-designing core/project accounting ledgers to facilitate reporting and monitor metrics

• Streamlining and automating systems, training staff in how to use them

• Support the process of becoming a C.I.O. and adapting finance and reporting systems for new level of requirements

• Managing cashflow and reserves to manage risk.

Reporting

• Reporting to HMRC, Companies House and the Charity Commission

• Liaising with our accountant to get the best systems in place for ease and accuracy of reporting and accounting

• Reporting to multiple funders with different priorities and expense restrictions

• Creating an automated financial reporting system that tracks costs across core, projects, and different funding streams for each

• Overseeing compliance with HMRC including VAT, PAYE and accessing tax benefits such as Theatre Tax Relief (TTR) alongside our accountant.

Administration

• Compiling and digitising receipts and invoices

• Setting up staff and project producer expense accounts where necessary

• Liaising with banking and ensuring staff access to online and card payment

• Creating and using new reference administrative reference systems and filing systems.

Human Resources

• Communicating with our community members, artists and staff about invoicing requirements and payment details, mindful of individuals’ complex needs

• Overseeing setup and budgeting of employment benefits, bonuses, commission, freelance contracts and how to integrate these

• Overseeing creation of a platform for communicating financials transparently to our community of marginalised artists (longer term)

Funding Support

• Note: this is a support role as one of the Artistic Directors will spearhead new funding applications, you will not be applying independently

• Researching and identifying new funding streams, archiving applications, making templates

• Seeking advice from current funders and NGO partners about where to apply

• Tracking funding applications, reporting deadlines, meeting financial requirements

• Following-up on investors, scheduling regular communications with Artistic Directors.
   

Essential skills and requirements

• Proficiency with Mac and Windows 

• Right to work in the UK

• Three years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in the charity, arts, or activism sector

• Strong ICT skills including relevant accounting/reporting software and G-Suite

• An excellent eye for detail and consistency

• Experience of payroll processes

• Strong verbal communications skills, able to convey financial information to a non-financial audience

The Role: 

As the Partnerships Officer, you will support the Partnerships Team on business development, managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, as well as researching new opportunities. 

Our places and volunteers are crucial to us. They know their communities best. This role will support our local Delivery teams to build new partnerships and grow our places. The role will also platform the voices of our volunteers to lead the development of our services.  This post will play a key role in the Partnerships Team. 

Your core responsibilities will consist of supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation in growing Volunteering Matters and its family of brands. Managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors; supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation with relationship management of major donors as well as developing and researching opportunities for business development with regional partners and stakeholders. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

• Support the Partnerships team and wider organisation to grow Volunteering Matters locally. 
• Manage a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, including leading on small trust applications & reports.
• Support the Partnerships Team with the management of major trusts, foundations, and donors.
• Play a key role in the upkeep of our library of information. 
• Stay updated on local opportunities and feed into place-based plan. 
• Develop and research opportunities for business development with partners and stakeholders including scoping opportunities and attending market engagement events. 
• Play a key role in the Partnerships Team, helping to collaborate with the wider directorate and organisation to create locally informed and systematic approaches to income generation. 
• Maintaining and actioning enquiries/information into team inbox 
• Support colleagues who are leading with events management for donor/patron & community fundraising events. 
• Supporting the Partnerships team and wider organisation to coordinate information required for reports to funders/partners. 
• Maintain database (Raisers Edge) with key reporting information. 

Experience / skills & attributes: 

• A commitment to the values and mission of Volunteering Matters, especially platforming the voices of our volunteers and young people, as determinant to our work alongside and for communities. 
• A pragmatism in understanding and working with the communities served by Volunteering Matters projects, and their respective local and third sector services. 
• An ability to support influencing of local and national stakeholders, by utilising the power of storytelling and advocating for the importance of local voice, when lobbying for social change. 
• Demonstrable awareness of the Third Sector and where relevant devolved responsibilities across the UK.
• Demonstrable experience in using the power of storytelling within the context of stakeholder engagement and / or business development. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with a range of stakeholders through a variety of means. 
• A capability to manage and engage relationships, including project reporting. 
• Evidence of good administrative and IT skills and the ability to maintain a fundraising CRM, administrative and financial records. 
• Belief in the Power of Communities with a desire to platform people and volunteers always. 
• Ability to engage in the process of business development, which includes bid writing, building operational partnerships and reporting on projects.

Day Opportunities Manager – working with adults with learning disabilities

Salary:                                up to £28,350 per annum

Responsible for: Day Opportunity coordinators, seniors and support workers, volunteers and service users

We have an exciting opportunity to join Centre 404’s Learning and Leisure team as the manager of our Day Opportunities service.  This service supports adults with a wide range of needs to be active members of the community, increase their independence, develop their life skills and set themselves goals and achievements to work towards.

The post holder will be responsible for line managing the team who plan and deliver a broad programme of social and educational community-based activities.  You will oversee the smooth running of the service and be responsible for quality assurance while ensuring the identified aims of the programme are met. You will also oversee all associated administration, the recruitment and management of relevant staff and volunteers, and contribute to the running and ongoing development of the service.

The role will involve balancing multiple priorities, including strategic planning as well as hands-on work alongside the rest of the team, ensuring a person-centred approach is maintained at all times and involving people in decision-making structures. There is ample scope for personal and professional development.

This job does require you to be an experienced manager who has planned and developed sessions for people with learning disabilities and led and motivated a team to ensure positive outcomes for people using the service.

Samaritans in Wales

Join a friendly, supportive, and ambitious staff team in Wales. Our office is in the centre of Cardiff (Cathedral Road); an office within a shared building, close to shops. There are around 700 Samaritans volunteers work across 10 Welsh locations. These volunteers respond to calls for help every day of the week via telephone, e-mail, online chat and in person at our branches or at events across Wales. We also work with the public and the media to inform them about Samaritans and explain how we can help people find their own way forward.

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy and numeracy levels amongst people in the criminal justice system?

We’ve made substantial progress as we implement our new strategy, with improvements and expansions to our delivery model and a renewed vision and mission. To support our recent growth, we are recruiting for a new part time Finance Officer to help us effectively manage our day-to-day financial processes and provide financial and administrative support to our growing team of staff and volunteers.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include the processing of purchase invoices and expenses, raising of contract invoices, assisting with budgets and forecasts and supporting our Income Generation team with their finance needs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to various finance projects and strategic initiatives.

It is essential that you have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards assisting with diverse finance tasks. Ideally you will possess a formal accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping. Underpinning this will be the ability to build relationships, and personal qualities that include persistence, determination and a problem-solving approach. We want to hear from applicants who are as committed to the cause as we are.

This is a home-based role but may require occasional travel around the UK including overnight stays.
