About this exciting opportunity
As Young Adults Caseworker, you will focus on promoting the project and engaging with your clients in line with the project’s targets and providing a client-led support service and advocacy that responds to each individual’s needs and achieves project outcomes. You will also deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, that will include practical help such as mentoring, social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, liaising with utilities, DIY work and cleaning.
You will support clients to develop individual action plans and regularly review these plans with your clients to assess progress, plus produce risk management plans based on assessments. We will also count on you to develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, including community-based services such as Police, YOT, Probation, children’s services and local authorities, as well as ensuring you close cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for young people that can be used for ongoing support.
What we are looking for
- Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young adults and establishing links to further the aims of a project.
- Experience of using support plans to enable people to successfully access support services.
- Proven record of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young adults.
- Experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures when thinking about young adults involved in or at risk of violence or exploitation.
- A working knowledge of relevant services for young adults in and around Gwent.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.
- A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

As Mentor/Facilitator, your focus will be to oversee the delivery of a vital Mentor Programme to targeted at risk students and young people up the age of 25 years and to establish and maintain positive relationships with each young person to provide emotional support, guidance and mentorship. You will be expected to address each individual’s needs and challenges, utilising personal experiences, local knowledge, professional skills and St Giles’ materials to offer support and intervention, while also assisting each young person with setting and achieving academic, personal, and career goals.
We will count on you to collaborate with professionals to support and develop strategies to minimise the risk to young people and to maintain a trauma informed approach, that recognises and responds to trauma and amplifies the voices and experiences of individuals. About this role
This role is a pivotal one in Central England Law Centre as we strive to deliver excellent service to our wide range of clients from the local community in Birmingham.
The receptionist/administrator is the first point of contact for all clients whether they visit in person, send an email or contact us by phone. Our Welfare Officers provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family. As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

About you
To thrive in this role you will have relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people. You will be able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver presentations with confidence.
You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
There will be some travel required and therefore you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own car.
