At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for a People and Onboarding Assistant to join our team.

You'll be responsible for ensuring successful candidates are onboarded in a personal and effective manner befitting AaA. You'll also participate with people support process queries such as staff changes, leavers, early stage policy queries as well as be engaged on supporting people strategy projects led by People Team colleagues.

You'll provide an excellent candidate experience when responding to onboarding queries and with staff when responding to HR/People support queries. You'll conduct onboarding checks, such as requesting references, processing DBS applications and right to work information, as well as maintaining accurate HR documents, records and databases, developing a strong understanding of our HR information systems.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience of processing compliance files, including DBS, referencing and Occupational Health verifications for external review such as Ofsted, CQC and Home Office.
• Experience of working in a busy HR team or agency
• Experience of using online databases and applicant tracking systems
• Experience managing end to end onboarding processes or similar compliance

AIM OF ROLE:
The aim of the requalification caseworker is to work with clients that apply to our requalification, loan and employment programme. This includes processing loan applications and conducting loan interviews, loan administration, client casework and supporting relationships with professional bodies. You will develop learning plans, attend sector-specific events, network to build a robust toolbox of support for clients, research pathways and offer advice and guidance to prospective clients, current clients and other programmes within RefuAid.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Casework; directly working with clients from loan application to loan repayment - conducting check-ins and supporting clients with re-qualification, loan and other related issues.
● Casework; ensuring clients are well supported and signposting or referring to support services where required.
● Providing guidance and career advice - overlooking CVs, supporting job interview preparation and searches, sending tailored resources, writing references and signposting.
● Meeting clients face to face whether in the office or visiting loan and re-qualification recipients all over the UK - this can be a mixture of London-based and national.
● Researching suitable employment and education pathways - outreaching to professional bodies and employers to ask for sector-specific advice where necessary, creating new relationships with as-of-yet unexplored fields.
● Working with the requalification lead to assess loan applications using a character-based model.
● Processing loans and travel payments to clients.
● Working closely with the loan administrator to ensure a seamless journey from initial application to full repayment - contacting our loan administrators where necessary.
● Supporting relationships with professional bodies.
● Working closely with all other RefuAid programmes to ensure holistic support for clients and supporting a streamlined referral process.
● Ensuring that all information is recorded accurately and that databases remain up to date.

Well Connected is seeking someone with community engagement experience, to become our new Community Connector within easy reach of Plymouth, Devon.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with us and alongside our partners to support students’ community placements and learning experiences, enabling students to engage directly with communities.

The role will facilitate and develop a range of programmes which aim to increase students' understanding of the health needs of a variety of population groups, such as people who experience homelessness, vulnerable adults, children and families, etc.

The Community Connector will join a small, yet dynamic team, be self-motivated and able to work independently towards achieving their targets.They must be enthusiastic, kind, approachable and enjoy interacting with students, community organisations and local people and be open to learning, developing their own skills and want to support the learning of others.

While a background in health and/or teaching is not a requirement, you should be interested in promoting wellbeing and passionate about supporting the teaching and learning of the health professionals of the future.

A DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.

When a family member has a spinal cord injury, it can be difficult to acknowledge and accept that their injury will affect you too.

You might find it difficult to express and share how you have been affected by these events, especially to your loved one with the injury. Overwhelming feelings of guilt, helplessness, confusion and isolation are very common. 

Back Up’s Family Support team are there to help. Right from the point of injury, our Family Support Coordinators work together with the family and the injured person to create their own ‘Family Plan’ - making sure they have access to information and support throughout the rehabilitation journey.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with first class communication skills to join the CSP team in Scotland and support them in promoting the profession and empowering members.

Age UK Richmond upon Thames are a local independent charity providing support for older people throughout the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Our wide range of services have a positive and long-lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of local older people.

We currently have an immediate excellent opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides support to older people over the age of 65 living in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on their return home from hospital or when they have become unwell in the community.

The team is involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge / make the home safer to avoid readmission and avoid admission in the first place. This includes preparing the home for discharge; fitting keysafes; moving furniture; shopping; arranging travel and providing advice.

The role will involve:

- Managing a caseload of clients.

- Developing a holistic plan of support, and directly delivering aspects of it.

- Liaising with hospitals, social workers, volunteers, family members, carers and other voluntary sector organisations and services.

- Administration related to the delivery of the service.

We are looking for an individual with experience in a health or social care related field, has an understanding of the challenges facing older people upon leaving hospital, has access to their own transport and is able to undertake physical tasks associated with preparing the home for discharge. Good communication, administration and coordination skills are also essential.

You are familiar with, or keen to learn about, fundraising. 

You are as comfortable working with data as you are talking to supporters. 

You are able to produce engaging social media and digital communications. 

You enjoy working collaboratively in a small team but are also happy managing your own time and workload effectively. 

You are organised and task orientated, and enjoy a busy, varied role which offers the opportunity to grow. 

Whilst fundraising experience is not essential, you must be able to demonstrate transferable skills, understand the importance of managing supporter care and enjoy building relationships. You may be looking for a part-time role that allows you time to study for a fundraising qualification or fits in around other commitments.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering the East Riding of Yorkshire. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as hospitals and care homes across the area to meet with clients and professionals and be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

How will you make a difference?

You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.

You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and will assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.
