About the role:
This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff. There will be an initial induction period that will run Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9am-5pm for a 4 week period. After successfully completing your induction, you will move to your fixed rota of:
Week 1: Monday 8am-4pm, Thursday 8am-4pm & Sunday 9am-5pm
Week 2: Wednesday 11pm-7am, Thursday 11pm-7am & Friday 11pm-7am
Week 3: Wednesday 11am-7pm, Saturday 9am-5pm & Sunday 9am-5pm
As a Helpline Adviser you will be: -
- Able to respond to victims of and those affected by crime by providing emotional support, information and referrals on to Victim Support services and other agencies
- Providing immediate support, advice and trauma first aid referrals to victims of and those affected by major incidents and terrorism.
- Seamlessly working across multiple services with different processes, procedures and recording mechanisms.
- Managing and responding appropriately to competing priorities, services and needs.
- Responsible for taking disclosures and responding appropriately by either escalating the safeguarding concern to the 'Designated Safeguarding Officer' or to respond immediately to life threatening situations.
You will need:
- Experience of working in challenging and changing environments with the emphasis on excellence in service delivery.
- Experience of organising and prioritising a complex workload.

As a Welfare Benefits Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in making benefit claims and accessing the support they need. Through the partnership of Macmillan Cancer Support, Self Help UK and the Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, the Macmillan Beyond Dagnosis service delivers support for people affected by cancer, as well as facilitated access to voluntary and community sector cancer specific support and wellbeing interventions across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Support and interventions will be identified using electronic health needs assessments (eHNA’s) and personalised care and support planning. This will provide a structured and clear ongoing support plan for those living with and beyond cancer which are integrated with primary, secondary and community clinical care pathways.
The aim of the service is to provide an improved experience for patients beyond their interactions with clinical services by contributing to the overall holistic approach to supporting people living with and beyond cancer. This will integrate the ‘beyond medicine’ approaches offered by the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) into existing and developing cancer pathways.
The Macmillan Beyond Diagnosis Service also includes the NUH Cancer Prehabilitation service, where we provide the Beyond Diagnosis model through the Social Prescriber Link Worker role.

The Role
A new opportunity has arisen to be part of the North Yorkshire Horizons substance use treatment service in Northallerton. North Yorkshire Horizons is a service made up of several key partners, led by Humankind, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance use, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens. You will be working within a fantastic team, where a real sense of team work is present.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team this role requires someone with great communication skills who can create and sustain effective working relationships with external agencies to achieve quality outcomes for substance misusing offenders. You will have experience of providing drugs and alcohol related advice and an in depth knowledge of the issues facing individuals with a history of offending and wider support needs.
In addition to delivering a range of PSI interventions, the post holder will also facilitate court imposed Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR’s) and Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATR’s), including the group work element and oversee the prescribed treatment for a caseload of service users within the Criminal Justice system. You may also be working with a cohort of people who use our service who may be on licence, subject to court orders or recently released from prison.
The Criminal Justice Drugs and Alcohol Worker will motivate service users to understand and manage their recovery and offending needs, and to support engagement with treatment provision. This role will work in partnership with other Humankind staff, NPS responsible officers, IOM, police, and community support services.

- To thrive in this role, you will need experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system, ideally with experience in substance use.
- A driving licence and access to a car is essential within this role due to the rural nature of our hubs.

Using the Macmillan Electronic Holistic Needs Assessment to support Cancer Care Reviews will ensure patients have access to the right support for all their non-clinical needs. We are looking for an experienced clinical administrator with strong people and communication skills to help run our clinical services.
This post is an exciting opportunity to be part both of supporting the growth of this new service and supporting clinical administration at the Brent Centre within an existing small team.
The suitable candidate will have at least two years’ experience of clinical and/or general administration and reception duties. This post will suit a confident, reliable individual with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
You will be expected to be confident in IT skills (including the use of Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level) and apply them to recording data accurately on a daily basis on our client database.

You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. As a Triage & Early Intervention Officer, you will be:
You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.
