About the role
Across the UK, over 400 organisations refer women for a Smart Works appointment, including job centres, refuges, prisons, working programme providers and other charities. The team in each centre supports clients to access their appointment.
We are recruiting for a Service Delivery Assistant based in our Reading centre to lead on the smooth running of our service, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all clients, volunteers and visitors. The Service Delivery Assistant will be the first point of contact a client will have with Smart Works. Therefore, we are looking for a friendly, organised and hard-working individual. Your Role
Al-Khair Foundation uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters, and stakeholders, including recording all donations made to the organisation. Al-Khair Foundation’s Database Officer will be responsible for the monthly delivery of the income and data reconciliation processes for the Fundraising teams, which includes liaising with a wide range of external agencies and the website to successfully download and query files, update and create new supporter records on the database, process cheques and payment requests, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure all anticipated and banked income tallies correctly.
You will also work closely with colleagues in the Database team to support and maintain regular database processes, data cleansing, and other database-related functions that happen on a monthly or quarterly basis. This may include responding to and being responsible for Support Ticket queries in relation to income, data, and/or the database generally and working with external database agencies such as our web platform partners and Salesforce.
Aside from these core duties, from time to time, you may also carry out general administrative tasks on behalf of the Supporter Engagement team. This may include supporting the Supporter Care Assistant during busy periods with customer care via email and telephone and recording updates, processing invoices, and maintaining and updating team rotas and trackers.
Your Responsibilities
- Delivering the monthly data reconciliation and income reconciliation processes, which include downloading and uploading data files.
- Supporting the Fundraising teams with their monthly income recording and reconciliation.

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining supporter relations, optimising fundraising efforts, and ensuring efficient administrative processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Care:
- To be a first point of contact for the Fundraising Department, answering the phone and meeting and greeting people who arrive to the office.
- Respond to enquiries from supporters, prospective supporters and volunteers via telephone, e-mail, and post, maintaining excellent supporter relations.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence.
- To adhere to administrative procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide admin support for Direct Mail letters and appeals, including the use of mail merge, when required.
- Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers.
Community Fundraising:
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support fundraising.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise through challenges, events and talks.
- Support the formation of volunteer fundraising groups.
- Support ongoing and new events within the UK, which may include occasional weekend and evening work.
- Take the lead with the co-ordination and administration of public collections in the UK.
- Take the lead in monitoring fundraising merchandise, and liaise with suppliers, for fundraising materials, including Christmas Cards.
Digital Marketing:
- Support in developing UK digital fundraising opportunities.
- Administer digital acquisition campaigns in the UK e.g. through digital advertising, to generate new donors.
Database Management (Training will be provided):
- Create and maintain contact records on Salesforce, ensuring supporter information is kept up to date by recording changes to mailing preferences, gift aid eligibility and contact details etc.
- Database maintenance and housekeeping e.g. identifying and merging duplicate records, removing, or archiving redundant data, adhering to GDPR protocols.
Finance Administration (Training will be provided):
- Efficiently process and reconcile incoming donations, received daily by post, online and phone. Bank cheques and cash on a weekly basis, and process credit card and CAF donations.
- Record all donations to Salesforce, ensuring the accurate coding of income to the correct source and supporter.
- Administer new Direct Debit instructions.
- Support monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating fundraising income received against budget, to inform the management team and provide accurate forecasting.
- Scan and upload credit card statements and invoices for payment by the Finance team.
- Record and reconcile petty cash expenditure.
- Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of all income received, responding to any queries.
General Office Administration:
- Order office stationery and fundraising supplies, as required.
- Co-ordinate general office maintenance, as required.
- Arrange accommodation for staff travel to Shrewsbury.

York Minster Fund is the lead fundraising partner for York Minster. We are an independent organisation, with a separate board of Trustees, who work closely with colleagues across the Cathedral to secure income for a number of much needed projects and programmes of work. Established in 1967, as an emergency response to an urgent restoration project, we secure funds from charitable foundations, major and corporate donors, legacy donors, individuals and events.
Our funds provide much needed income for a wide range of projects, including the fabric and repair of the iconic Minster itself, the training of apprentices in traditional heritage crafts and strategic initiatives such as the realisation of the Minster's new international Centre of Excellence for Heritage Skills and Estate Management.
In the last year we have built on existing strong fundraising relationships and techniques to explore new ways of engaging donors and digital audiences and this is an exciting time to join the Fund as we move forward on a number of major projects. About you

About the role
As a Business Support Officer, you will support individual areas and provide positive and timely business support for the Care and Support function to meet their delivery of organisation business processes. - Manage individual fundraising comms from sign up to challenge completion (with support from Marketing and Fundraising Manager)
- Manage individual donor and major donor comms where relevant
- Manage the admin for our Community Fundraising projects (e.g. our 34k Challenge)
- Regularly update our Grant Prospecting database and stay on top of new opportunities and upcoming deadlines
- Maintain our fundraising events calendar
- Produce regular reports from our fundraising platforms (JustGiving, Enthuse, Donr etc.)
- Support social media asset creation for fundraising projects
- Complete research tasks for fundraising event logistics
- Complete reports on fundraising event analysis
- Process and fulfil merchandise orders and manage customer queries
- Stay up-to-date with fundraising trends in the sector

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Centre Fundraising Organiser to join the fundraising team at our Lanarkshire centre in Airdrie.
As an integral member of the team, you will be based at the centre and assist in the delivery of a wide range of operational and administrative support, as well as social media activities.
Your responsibilities
- First point of contact for enquiries from community audiences and suppliers.
- Respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers, etc. (by phone, mail and in person), including responding to requests for information, materials and more.
- Refer enquiries to the Centre Fundraiser where appropriate.
- Provide and facilitate supporters with a choice of how they fundraise, and work with Maggie’s in line with the national strategy and plan.

The role
We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a new Fundraising Assistant to offer vital support for all fundraising activities. This new role will join a small, proactive team who raise funds from a variety of sources including trust and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraisers and individual giving.
As Fundraising Assistant, you will provide admin and fundraising support across the Fundraising and Partnerships Team and excellent customer service to supporters, partners, fundraisers, and internal stakeholders in pursuit of the overall strategy of the Fundraising and Partnerships Team.
What you will need to succeed
You will have demonstrable experience of working in fundraising, business development, customer service or a similar background.
You will also assist with the implementation of the NEA donor journey and stewardship activities, organisation of fundraising events as required – as well as supporting with donor communication and retention.
With such an array of opportunities you will need to have a high attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be exceptionally organised.
You should be based in Newcastle upon Tyne or within a commutable distance, with some infrequent travel on an ad-hoc basis.
