The Ogden Trust is recruiting for a Programme Officer to support the delivery of our informal science learning programmes across England, working with universities and employers.

The Ogden Trust is a charitable Trust, supporting the teaching and learning of physics.  The Trust supports a range of initiatives, programmes and projects to promote the teaching and learning of physics.

The Programme Officer will report to the Programme Manager for the Opportunities for All strand of the Ogden strategy, which includes our work with universities to support physics outreach and public engagement and physics-related internships for 16-18-year-olds. Who we are looking for

You will need to have a good understanding of the informal science learning landscape and higher education in England and an interest in physics in particular. We are looking for a dynamic Senior Analyst to manage and deliver information, data, and analysis to help Youth Futures build evidence for impact.

You will work with the Head of Evaluation (Data Lead) and Principal Economist to support the design, delivery and management of data systems, and conduct analysis and research.  You will be responsible for ensuring evaluation data is in the correct format for uploading to the Secure Research Service. You will also use your analytical expertise to extract insights from data, identify trends, and liaise with policy and communication teams for external use. You will also support YFF's evaluation team in scoping opportunities for new evaluations, and critically review evaluation proposals to ensure designs are high quality and cost effective and that the most suitable evaluators are commissioned, Finally, this is also an opportunity to work on data visualisation projects to ensure the data and analysis is linked correctly and efficiently. This is an opportunity for an analyst with excellent analysis and data skills to work for a busy I&E directorate. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with two teams in the Impact and Evidence Directorate. A part of the role will also be working with other teams, such as policy and communications, to translate complex analysis and evaluation findings into accessible, user-centred outputs and briefings for internal and external use.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors (London) - £29,000  per annum plus London Weighting (pro-rata)

Here at One Million Mentors, our aim is to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. We believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion.

This is one of two Regional Manager roles in London; a Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors, and Regional Manager for Programme Delivery.

The Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors focuses on mentor supply, securing sufficient volunteers primarily for London and also for 1MM’s national outreach. The role is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, in London and nationally. This includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, and oversight of some corporate programmes. Also to consider safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by helping establish over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximising conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Providing ongoing support for key stakeholder partners, including Employers, and maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.

Terms and Conditions: This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.

THE ROLE
The Contracts Manager will join our Operations team to represent the Woodland Trust locally, supporting a diverse portfolio of sites within North England, in line with the Trust’s standards and ensuring the safety of our colleagues, visitors, contractors and volunteers. It shall be the Contracts Manager’s responsibility to support Site Managers’ in the preparation and delivery of grant applications, operational contracts and projects including silvicultural operations. 

The Contracts Manager will initiate, develop and project manage new innovative projects within and across the woodlands, working with external partner and a cross-departmental team of foresters, people engagement specialists, communications specialists and funders.

They will identify opportunities to streamline services, develop our contractor base and maximise the income and grant aid potential of work programmes. They are responsible for ensuring that all necessary agreements, mitigations and consents are in place in preparation for the delivery of contracts and in accordance with all Woodland Trust Health and Safety policies and procedures.

A company car will be provided with this role.

THE CANDIDATE
With previous experience in land-based management in the forestry, woodland management, or nature conservation sector, you’ll have experience in writing and reviewing site management plans, budget and contract management, and Health and Safety management. You’ll have experience in the writing and delivery grant schemes across woodland creation and for specifying, instructing, and supervising woodland management operations. You’ll be experienced in planning, monitoring, and delivering multi-disciplinary projects to time and to budget and in engaging with contractors and suppliers on pricing, implementation, and delivery.

You must have a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and able to build effective partnerships internally and externally.  You’ll have experience engaging with external stakeholders, communities and volunteers with a collaborative approach. A working knowledge of the operational, ie Forest Works Management of woodlands would be desirable.

A full driving licence is a must have, along with the ability to undertake travel across a wide area, sometimes to remote locations.  Occasional overnight stays will be required and you will be expected to live in the region and within easy reach of key sites in North England.

Joining a small national team, the Business Partnerships Manager for London will support the London and national Tempo team to expand and deepen the networks of community, public and private sector programmes and to develop new opportunities and partnerships in London.

Key responsibilities:

• Regional Recognition Network Development: You will develop regional recognition opportunities with potential partners, attract a diverse range of regional partners aligned with Tempo funders' objectives, and ensure network variety meets programme and beneficiary needs.
• Lead Generation: You will promote Tempo's work through events and communications, identify and approach new business leads, attend events, present, and network, and coordinate business development enquiries and attend and pitch Time Credits in meetings.
• Management of the London Recognition Network: You will ensure the effective management of the Network, including partner communications and regular network audits, provide leadership for recognition communications, such as newsletters, marketing materials, and social media, contribute to reporting and provide data and evidence, and manage existing partner relationships.
• Support Network Sustainability and Development: You will facilitate local events, trips, and networking meetings, and support innovation, learning, and development across the network.

The Business Partnerships Manager will need to be innovative with ideas and approaches to grow and maintain partnerships. The successful candidate will need to be a good listener and people person as partnerships will be driven by the needs of the volunteers and community members and will have a genuine passion for supporting the development of individuals and organisations. You will be a natural team player to work alongside team members to deliver training and network events and will have excellent and adaptable communication skills. You will have strong reporting and analytical skills to support Tempo to demonstrate their impact within communities.

· To coach, lead and manage a team of volunteers

Flexibility

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (8 hours within the hours of 9 am to 6 pm with 1 hour’s lunch break) + one day of weekend support hub per month

This is one of two Regional Manager roles in London; Regional Manager for Programme Delivery, and Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors.

The Regional Manager for Programme Delivery focuses on mentee demand, and managing the end-to-end coordination of multiple programmes cross London. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM Regional Manager for Programme Delivery’s main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by helping establish over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximising conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Ongoing support for key stakeholder partners, including Youth Partners, and maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.
