Community Fundraising Coordinator 

Role overview To manage a range of community fundraisings projects and mid value fundraisers, provide excellent supporter experience to all, meeting agreed KPIs and objectives. Children with Cancer UK Children with Cancer UK is a leading children’s cancer charity dedicated to raising and investing funds into vital specialist research to save the lives of children with cancer. Our mission is to improve survival rates and the quality of survival in young cancer patients and to find ways to prevent cancer in the future. The Community Fundraising Team The Community Fundraising Team at Children with Cancer UK raises just under one million pounds annually. Our community fundraisers take on their own fundraising activities or taking part in one of our fundraising products. The community fundraising team is part of the wider fundraising team which has a number of established fundraising events, individual giving campaigns, sports events and corporate supporters

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Centre Fundraising Organiser to join the fundraising team at our Lanarkshire centre in Airdrie. 

As an integral member of the team, you will be based at the centre and assist in the delivery of a wide range of operational and administrative support, as well as social media activities.

Your responsibilities

• First point of contact for enquiries from community audiences and suppliers.

• Respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers, etc. (by phone, mail and in person), including responding to requests for information, materials and more.

• Refer enquiries to the Centre Fundraiser where appropriate.

• Provide and facilitate supporters with a choice of how they fundraise, and work with Maggie’s in line with the national strategy and plan.

• Provide excellent supporter care, which enthuses supporters and encourages commitment and loyalty to Maggie’s.

This is a demanding role in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently. There will be a requirement to work irregular hours and travel locally.

About You:

You will have experience of training and presenting as well as supporting Face to Face campaigns ideally within a third sector fundraising role. Key to this role will be the ability to build, manage and develop relationships.

About The Role

• Provide continual training and compliance monitoring support to our Face to Face partners in the execution of all door, private Sites and events fundraising, this includes leading on developing new opportunities in conjunction with St John events.
• Oversee and collaboratively work with our Telephone Fundraising partners on their training and compliance of all deliverables such as welcome calls, upgrades, reactivations and other fundraising campaigns – includes caller listening
• Oversee regular audits of agents, to monitor against key auditory compliance and performance metrics.
• Manage relationships with our Face to Face partners with training, development and materials, and performance reviews. Monitoring various forms or training and reviewing inductions in line with our agreed contract.
• Build a strong knowledge of all areas of St John Ambulance’s work, carrying out continual research and gathering information, case studies and photos for use in training booklets, scripts and materials. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters.

An exciting opportunity has come up to join the Community Fundraising team at Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The Community Fundraising team all work from home and regularly keep in touch with weekly online team meetings, individual catchups as required, as well as in person meetings throughout the year. Typical responsibilities in the role are:

- To triage and respond to incoming enquiries, material requests and bookings via phone & email, efficiently and accurately. 
- To ensure the management of accurate supporter records/bookings for key community events using third party external sites such as Enthuse to support this
- Engage with fundraising supporters and potential supporters to deliver exceptional stewardship and understanding people’s needs and challenges
- To assist in the correspondence with and development of fundraisers and donors, to ensure they have the support and fundraising materials they need to reach their fundraising goals and have an exceptional supporter experience
- Create and amend supporter records on the database in an accurate manner and within agreed standards ensuring data is always managed securely and effectively.

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from May 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

Remote working with regular travel to the West Midlands and London as required

Why join the UK Sepsis Trust (UKST)? Because there’s an exciting opportunity to work for a significant cause and help build its sustainable future. We’re building our new fundraising team and this temporary role will play an important part in accelerating our ambitious plans to increase annual income during 2024/25.

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

Role summary

Working within our fundraising and communications team, you will support the management of our communications portfolio of work. Maintaining our consistent brand, you will lead on digital and print asset development. You will lead on supporter communications, assisting the rest of the team to raise the profile and bring new supporters into the organisation. You will manage our social channels, website content and newsletter, and developing creative assets and materials for our external work both in the UK and the US.

Location: Nine Elms, Central London – current requirement is for staff to be in the office a minimum of two days a week between Tuesday and Thursday

Job purpose

Assist the delivery of other areas of our fundraising work, including but not exclusive to Trusts and Foundations, individual giving and community fundraising.

7. Support the attainment of funds from a variety of Trusts and Foundations, through submitting high quality applications.

8. Support Able Child Africa’s individual giving programme, assisting with donor communications, building relationships with donors and growing our income.

9. Support community fundraising activities, empowering existing and newly sourced supporters, (including schools, universities and other members of the public) to independently generate funds for Able Child Africa through independent events and activities.

Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications and wider operational teams as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.

10. Maintain our Salesforce database, keeping detailed records of communications, support and donations from individuals and organisations.

11. Support our advocacy objectives, working with the Advocacy team to produce high quality and consistent messaging for use within the international development sector.

12. Support the delivery of unique and ongoing operational activities as required for the effective running of the organisation.

Competencies

Experience

1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising or communications support role.

2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.

3. Experience or knowledge of managing individual donors with demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders (including public, media and donors) to advance a cause.

Skills and Technical Competencies

4. Creative ability to assist in the production of engaging content for communication in line with the organisational brand and mission.

5. Competency in managing social channels under direction, developing newsletters and other blogs or articles.

6. Basic understanding of WordPress, and other design packages (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) desirable.

Civitas Recruitment are delighted to be working with a fantastic Islamic charity dedicated to providing long-term, consistent support to orphan children and their families in need. The charity supports and cares for over 40,000 orphans and their families in 13 countries including Somalia and Palestine. A fantastic opportunity exists for a Fundraising Manager to join the team. As Fundraising Manager, you will play a crucial role in securing financial resources to support the charity’s orphan and widow sponsorship programs. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing fundraising activities across a broad suite of avenues including community, events, mosques, and local business partnerships. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bradford.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have proven experience of developing fundraising strategies and delivering to large income targets. You will have demonstrative experience in fundraising and donor relations in the charity sector and be experienced in leading and managing fundraising campaigns/activities. You will be a confident communicator who possesses strong written and verbal communication skills including grant writing and public speaking. Proven leadership and team management experience and familiarity with fundraising software and CRM systems is essential for the role. In addition to the technical skills, you will be a personable candidate who has strong team working skills and creative problem-solving skills. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong alignment to the organisation’s values and knowledge of the Muslim fundraising space would be a bonus as you will also be involved in mosque appeals and collections.

Context of the role.

The successful candidate will be guided by the Communications & Fundraising Officer to communicate the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers and demonstrate the impact of Upbeat Communities to our supporters and followers, as well as to new audiences. They will have a positive attitude and love communicating what we do as a charity.

The role can mostly be done remotely; however, it will be required for the candidate to travel to our base in Derby a minimum of 1 day a week to stay connected to the team, and for team meetings and training as and when they occur.

Upbeat Communities was founded in response to the needs of refugees arriving in the UK and the stories they shared of their lives and their journeys. Through building relationships with those from refugee communities we were able to identify their needs and the best ways to respond.

One of the best resources a refugee can have to help them settle in their new home is a good social network. Relationships and connectedness can help overcome the many challenges faced by those seeking refuge. With this aim, we want to help connect refugees into community.

We greet new arrivals with our Welcome Boxes befriending project. We offer free English classes and community activities to help refugees (adults and children) integrate. We empower refugees to rebuild their lives through Host Derby (temporary accommodation), mentoring (careers guidance) and the UK Refugee Resettlement Scheme, which local authorities contract us to deliver. We also empower the local community through awareness raising.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Content creation

•  Creating written and visual content for social media and our website.
• Finding useful resources, articles, and news to be shared on our website, blog and social media.

Social media and website

•  Day-to-day management of Upbeat’s social media accounts including creating and scheduling content, replying to messages, and interacting with followers.
•  Updating the website with relevant images, statistics, and news.

Supporter stewardship

• Following Upbeat’s donations process, ensure donors are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner, and that all communications are logged on to our database (Donorfy).
• Researching local fundraising or awareness-raising opportunities and events.

Other

• Working with Upbeat’s Communications & Fundraising Officer on larger-scale fundraising campaigns throughout the year, as well as the communication of these campaigns.
• Making an active contribution to the overall work of Upbeat Communities through team meetings, staff training, awareness and fundraising events, and any other appropriate activities.
• Being committed to and working in accordance with Upbeat’s values and ethos, as well as adhering to all organisational policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrable experience of excellent use of the English language, particularly written.
• Experience of a wide range of communications, marketing, and media.

Aid to the Church in Need is a Catholic charity, supporting persecuted and suffering Christians around the world.

Working alongside the existing Community Fundraiser in London, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Westminster, Brentford & East Anglia to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff. Attend parishes to deliver weekend fundraising appeals as well as giving talks and presentations to parish groups.  

Developing strong links for ACN with educational and pastoral networks in Schools, Colleges and Universities, building relationships and supporting them in delivering the ACN Schools Programme, boosting the take up of the programme, increasing school engagement and delivering assemblies in person and virtually.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.
