Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Work closely with the Committee and key stakeholders focusing on a shared vision, mission of Lewisham Giving and to successfully deliver the strategy.

· Produce an annual plan of work that sets out the key priorities and activities for Lewisham Giving and is approved by the Committee

· Proactively establish and nurture a network of businesses, residents, community organisations, and individuals who will contribute time, money, skills, opportunities and connections to ensure a sustainable Giving model for Lewisham.

· Commission or carry out research as necessary to understand unmet need and inform plans to maximise impact.

· Further develop the giving model for Lewisham through co-design with residents and other relevant agencies and monitor and report on their impact.

This is a senior role, reporting to the Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy. It will involve contributing to our long-term fundraising strategy and identifying new funding opportunities, as well as delivering a range of initiatives including sponsored events, appeals, and legacy campaigns.

IFST is hiring – we are the leading professional body for food professionals and are looking for a Registration, Accreditation and Membership Manager to push forward our work to promote food science and technology for the benefit, safety, and health of everyone.

As our Registration, Accreditation and Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the membership lifecycle process. In addition, this role coordinates and actively manages the administration of applications and renewals for the Institute’s accreditation and professional registration assessments, working closely with our voluntary assessors and committees. These functions are managed using the Institute’s CRM system and integrated software.

You will coordinate and actively manage the flow of applications for IFST’s wide range of membership and other registration assessment processes, via our network of trained assessors. The role is also responsible for monitoring and reporting to ensure consistently high standards of assessment are maintained, and for the maintenance and integrity of our registers including CPD associated with our registers. You will efficiently manage the accreditation of training programmes and courses.

You will be a confident communicator with an eye for detail and knowledge of Professional Development and Recognition and/or CPD schemes. Ideally you will have Food Sector and/or University sector experience. As the lead role in our Membership team, you’ll line manage our Registration and Accreditation Officer and our Registration and Accreditation Administrator to provide an excellent service to our members. We are a small team, so a proactive and can-do attitude are just as important as your communication & organisational skills.

Location: Remote working with travel to Together Trust locations in Greater Manchester and surrounding area and attending some meetings throughout England where necessary.

Leading on Policy and Campaign development of the charity’s policy, your role will be to put forward evidence-based policy recommendations and campaigns and working with the people we support to influence change ensuring that the voice of the people we support is heard and acted on by key decision makers. 

Acting as the spokesperson for the Together Trust and the people it supports on policy issues you will be responsible for the following:

• Managing and developing the Together Trust’s policy and campaigns strategy in line with the Trust’s strategic long-term plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.

Supported by a public health development officer, train the trainer (1 based in England and 1 based in Scotland), who you’ll also line manage, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of the in-person programme, including marketing materials, resource packs and ongoing support for trainees. You’ll also identify opportunities, agree timescales and associated logistics for training delivery within the pilot areas.

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in leading on the development and delivery of insightful and engaging workshops or public health focused projects, to a range of audiences from health or community-based organisations. The right candidate will have a good understanding of health inequalities, the challenges they present to health behaviours and outcomes, and be passionate about addressing these challenges. This will include collating and monitoring data from diverse sources to help provide oversight of our funded research.  You will work across a diverse range of projects and will liaise with a wide range of teams from across the charity to help us to tell the story of our research investment.    

 About you

• A degree or equivalent level of experience in scientific, medical or research related domains via the charity, commercial, health, higher education or publishing sectors.  
• Comfortable in working with research related metrics and data, with some experience of understanding and preparing medical/scientific information for non-specialist audiences. 
• High quality verbal and written communication skills including being able to communicate complex information and requirements to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. 
• A flexible and collaborative approach; able to work closely and adaptively with immediate team and collaboratively across the organisation. 
• Good information technology skills, including effective database/PubMed/internet search techniques and significant experience of using Microsoft Office packages. 
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines independently, including rapid turnaround requests.

• Be accountable for the delivery of high-quality Village Agent Services in Somerset, promoting a learning culture, and driving growth through role modelling.
• Lead all managers and operational employees within the Village Agent Programme to deliver our strategic goals.
• To coach and lead the Agent Locality Managers to enhance overall performance and continuous professional and personal development.
• Demonstrate active leadership skills and support your team to resolve challenges and respond to opportunities.
• Utilise high levels of emotional intelligence and strong communication skills internally and externally to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service.

• Ensure that the impact of the Village Agent services is demonstrated and articulated to internal and external audiences, including contributions to fundraising and advocacy campaigns and materials and representing the service to external audiences.
• Look for opportunities to innovate and work with internal and external colleagues to develop new programmes of work to meet community need; implementing and evaluating pilot projects and, if successful, embedding them within the central service.
• Analyse performance data to evaluate service design, developing new or improved processes and procedures to ensure we are effective, efficient and focused on client outcomes.
• Be responsible for leading service development annually, responding to evidence of need and seeking to implement community solutions; whilst identifying and mitigating risk.
• Drive community development through the Village Agent service, supporting the team to identify gaps and implement sustainable community solutions.
• Take responsibility for collating quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports internally for the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees and externally for funders as required.
• Act as the Safeguarding Lead Officer for Client Services, and work closely with the CCS Safeguarding Lead.
• Contribute to the development of quality assurance systems.
• Assist in managing the organisation’s day-to-day operations and its resources in accordance with CCS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and good practice in all aspects of the charity’s work.
• Keep abreast of national, regional, and local policy that impacts on our work to bring a wider perspective, and ensure our work is well informed.

Build Connections

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with our collaborators, including commissioners, public sector officers and senior operational managers across a range of sectors and organisations.
• Show generous leadership and actively promote CCS values at all times.
• Attend relevant partnership and operational meetings for Village Agent services.
• When appropriate, represent CCS externally at events and meetings locally, regionally and nationally.
