→ Extensive experience of working in statutory and/or trusts fundraising, including successfully applying for grants in excess of £50,00 to £100,000+

→ Demonstrable track record of high quality bid writing and production that meet funder requirements

→ Project management experience

→ Substantial experience interpreting and translating material into compelling content for successful proposals

→ Demonstrable strong project and account management abilities

→ Confident in the development of budgets to meet proposal requirements

→ Strong problem solving ability and confidence to bring in new ideas and drive them forward

→ Experience of writing and communicating for different mediums and channels and applying writing and branding requirements to reports and documents

→ Awareness and understanding of legislation and best practice, with good knowledge of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and Fundraising Regulator, in relation to fundraising and data protection

This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

It is an exciting time to be coming joining Lepra. We have just completed developing our new multi-year global strategy to take us through to 2030, and to guide our work into the future; and we are using our Centenary year in 2024 as a springboard to launch us into our new strategic period. 2024 is very much a year for looking and planning ahead.

The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) – Manager Level, part time (28 hours – 4 days per week). We have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at our Colchester offices. As a Senior Community and Events Fundraiser you will:

• Work collaboratively with other teams across Fundraising and MarComms to market and promote fundraising products, activities and events.

• Work with Volunteering to recruit and train new volunteers

In order to be successful, you must have experienced :

• experience of fundraising in a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity
• Experience of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with individual fundraisers/supporters and of developing partnerships
• Experience of setting and working to budgets, targets and plans.
• Previous experience of managing staff and/or volunteers.
• Experience of delivering talks and presentations.
• Demonstrable track record in working with different audiences.
• Experience of working as part of a team.
• Understanding of and experience with using CRM databases.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with people at all levels, on the telephone, face to face and in writing.

Trusts and Grants Fundraiser

Your responsibilities include maintaining a well-organised grant pipeline, tailoring applications to funder criteria, and collaborating with colleagues across The Haven to ensure projects are delivered and measured. Building and nurturing relationships is essential. Your contributions will inform our grants strategy, ensure ethical practices, and contribute to our mission's success.

The role is full-time or part-time (30 hours), and can be remote, hybrid, or office based in Wolverhampton, depending on your preference.

 Main Responsibilities

• Grant Research, Application and Management:
• Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant-making organisations to align with The Haven’s goals, priorities, and funding needs.
• Develop and maintain a robust grant pipeline, tracking the progress of all grant applications from identification to closure. Include monitoring and review of application and reporting deadlines.
• Collate external research and collaborate with frontline managers and staff, as well as other team members to gather pertinent, compelling information needed to develop robust cases for support.
• Prepare tailored funder applications that match the specific requirements and guidelines of each funder.
• Provide relevant materials and support to The Haven’s communication team regarding grants publicity, ensuring funder requirements are met.
• Work closely with project delivery leads to deliver comprehensive grants handovers to ensure compliance with all grant agreements, terms, and conditions, ongoing monitoring and evaluation is in line with funder reporting requirements, and submission of timely high quality reports.
• Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets and monitor expenditure against the project budget, to ensure funds are spent as required and in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation and records, ensuring The Haven’s CRM is kept up to date.
• Stay up to date with statutory contract opportunities and share information with relevant colleagues as and when opportunities arise.
• Support the tender writing process, undertaking research and developing copy with the support of the Senior Leadership Team where needed.
• Support the monitoring and administration of tender submissions, including deadline tracking, monitoring communications received and updating colleague stakeholders.

 
Relationship Management:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and funding partners, and initiate and nurture relationships with new prospective donors and funding organisations.
• Identify opportunities for stewardship of relationships and explore engagement activities and events.

 
Grant Strategy and Planning:

• Contribute to the development of The Haven’s grants strategy.
• Identify long-term funding opportunities and trends within the grants landscape.
• Capture, track, and analyse data to evaluate the success of applications and make data-driven decisions for future strategies.
• Work towards agreed metrics and KPIs.

 
Compliance and Best Practice:

• Adhere to relevant legislation and regulation such as GDPR and the Codes of Fundraising Practice and stay up-to-date and with any changes.
• Ensure ethical practices including transparent and accurate representation of The Haven’s work and achievements.
• Stay informed about changes in grant-making practices and trends.
• Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance grant-writing skills.

About the Role

Working within a small fundraising team, the Partnerships and Event Fundraiser will make a significant contribution to securing a legacy for thousands of local young people through the generation of new income. This income generation is broken into two programmes: the Community Fundraising programme and the SME Corporate Partnerships programme, both of which you'll be involved in. As Partnerships and Event Fundraiser, you'll be working across a number of projects and events to engage with businesses about creative ways in which they can support the Hive Youth Zone.

The Community programme will encourage the local community to fundraise for the Hive through approaching schools, groups, and associations, and recruiting participants for events. The SME Corporate Partnerships programme will encourage businesses to donate up to £1000 through initiatives such as Charity of the Year applications, staff fundraising initiatives, and recruiting support from smaller local businesses. You will also support and inspire existing corporate partners as part of your role.

About You

This role is a perfect opportunity for a fundraiser, with a proven track record of securing funds via community and corporate fundraising, to set up a new Community programme at the Hive. We are also very much open to candidates from a sales, marketing, and account management background, as well as candidates with events and projects experience. Responsibilities include:

• Managing and exceeding income targets by leading specific projects and events (50% community and 50% events)

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.

The successful candidate will be able to build on current processes and successes to grow our engagement across all fundraising activities, platforms and campaigns. We are looking for a Legacy and In Memory Lead for an incredible hospice, to be responsible for managing the implementation of the legacy (gifts in Wills) and in memory strategies and developing annual delivery plans.

This is a Hybrid role with 4 days a week in the Essex office.

The Role
Lead the delivery of planned activities and promotion of legacy and in memory fundraising products to achieve budget net income and grow the active support base.

Project manage all elements required to deliver planned activities.

The Candidate
Significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising.

Experience of using a variety of on- and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to acquire and develop donors / customers.

Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets.

This role is offered on a permanent, part-time 4 days a week basis paying a salary of £28,723 (£35,904 FTE) per annum. The position can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at their Colchester offices.

The Institutional Trusts and Fundraising Manager will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. The postholder will be line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working in statutory and/or trusts fundraising, including successfully applying for grants in excess of £50,00 to £100,000+. You will have a demonstrable track record of high quality bid writing and production that meet funder requirements.

As Major Gift Development Manager, you’ll:

• Manage a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects and ensure a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey with Dogs Trust to secure five and six figure gifts.
• Attend meetings with existing and new donors, developing bespoke, personalised written communications and proposals that fit with Dogs Trust’s brand.
• Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as other teams across Dogs Trust and VIPs.
• Support the Regional Major Gifts Team Manager in delivering the major donor elements of the fundraising strategy.

About You:

With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals and a strong understanding of philanthropy fundraising, you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident and credible, you will have the ability to form strong relationships with existing donors and the tenacity to build networks to find new supporters who can support our work with major gifts. You will have attention to detail and the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events. Driving license is also required.
