Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Engagement and Internal Communications Lead to join the People team at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). Reporting to the Director of People and Organisational Development, this role plays a central part in helping our people feel informed, connected and engaged with the College’s mission to improve healthcare for women and girls worldwide.

You will shape and deliver RCOG’s employee engagement approach and internal communications offer, bringing fresh ideas, strong professional insight and a clear focus on listening to our people. Working closely with colleagues across the People and Communications teams, senior leaders, staff networks and our Staff Representative Committee, you will ensure our internal communications are meaningful, inclusive and aligned to our values.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering RCOG’s employee engagement and internal communications plan
  • Managing and developing internal communications channels and two-way engagement mechanisms
  • Working with colleagues to share clear, timely and engaging content that connects our employees to our work and celebrates achievements
  • Leading on an employee engagement survey, feedback mechanisms and action planning
  • Planning and delivering the College’s annual staff events programme
  • Championing equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing through internal communications and awareness activity

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing culture, shaping communications and making a real difference to how people experience work in a values-led organisation.

For the full list of key responsibilities, please check the recruitment pack.

About you

This role is well suited to someone who is passionate about employee engagement and internal communications, enjoys working collaboratively, and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, high-quality work.

  • A genuine commitment to RCOG’s mission and values

We recognise that people bring different experiences and strengths. While confidence working in internal communications and engagement is important, we encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every criterion but feel excited about the role and what they could contribute. We are committed to supporting learning and development in post.

Our culture and benefits

As a key member of the team, you will be located in our offices in London Bridge. We offer a friendly, values led working culture with an excellent benefits package that includes:

  • Interest-free bike and season ticket loans after probation
  • Tailored Learning and Development and study leave
  • Affinity staff networks
