The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Marketing & Digital Engagement to lead our efforts in inspiring, engaging, and empowering communities, volunteers, and supporters across the UK. This is a critical new role, focused on implementing and operationalising our new strategy, enhancing our reach, and building the foundations for our future growth. The role offers the opportunity to lead the development of Trees for Cities’ first national digital engagement strategy, ensuring we build strong connections with communities and supporters through creative campaigns and digital platforms.

Role Purpose:
The lawyer will be responsible for providing legal and advocacy services to our clients in-house casework team investigating concerns about registrants’ fitness to practise. The role requires an advocate with experience of preparing and presenting fitness to practise cases in the regulatory healthcare sector (or similar). They will have responsibility for preparing cases for hearings before their Fitness to Practise Committee (FtPC), Registrations Appeals Committee (RAC) and the High Court (if qualified), and for presenting cases on behalf of the GOC as required. This will require the jobholder to work closely with Operations Managers and other team members to ensure that cases are fully prepared for hearing in a timely and efficient manner.
The jobholder will also provide legal advice and support to the regulatory operations directorate at all stages of the fitness to practise process, and to the rest of the organisation as required, and will play a significant role in supporting and developing their investigation team. The jobholder will have a ‘hands-on’ approach with a strong and positive commitment to continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will receive specialised advocacy training with an experienced regulatory barrister in March 2025. The candidate should be available to attend the London offices during this time.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer with experience of professional regulation or the ability to gain the experience quickly (solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive, holding a current practising certificate with at least 3 years’ PQE).
- Significant experience of managing and/ or directing investigations and presenting cases within agreed timeframes and to a high quality, preferably within the professional regulation setting.
- An excellent understanding of complex legal concepts and ability to apply knowledge to case work.
- Ability to grasp unfamiliar and/or new legislation quickly and to accurately apply rules and legislation to daily work.
- Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Ability to communicate to a high standard with legally qualified and non legally qualified colleagues.
- Excellent literacy and written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to grasp unfamiliar and/or new legislation quickly and to accurately apply rules and legislation to daily work.
- Good general IT skills with the ability to use case management systems and Microsoft Office products.
This role is primarily working from home with requirement to attend the London office 1-2 days per month and attendance is required for any in-person hearings.

About the role
This role is responsible for work at the heart of the organisation focussing on the equality, support and recognition of unpaid carers in society. Leading areas of work, devising campaigns, building policy and finding good practice is at the centre of the role, ensuring that we maintain our strong profile in Parliament and with Government. Over the 10 - 12 months you would be working on our major 60th anniversary programme, Carers Week, health and social care policy, key research and campaigns over that time period.
This role is responsible for maintaining our great reputation for our strong evidence-based research programme including delivering our renowned State of Caring survey, the first of its kind nationally and globally and which now has over 10 years of data.
Having a good eye for media and what is necessary to support our work is essential as is a strong close working relationship with the communications team.
This role is also responsible for carer engagement in our policy and public affairs work, whether it’s carers meeting Ministers, helping shape policy or practice, testing our research or helping tell their stories to increase understanding.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.

About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

Role Responsibilities:

Job Description
As the Director of Finance your role will play a key strategic role to the direction of the Finance team and the school in general. You will be involved in optimising processes, identifying new opportunities, developing the long-term strategic plan and ensuring the continuing success of the school. The role holder will be a member of the School's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) , working closely with the Head and the Governors.
The successful candidate will also oversee either the IT or HR team as part of their remit.
The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring that the School has the financial resources needed to deliver an excellent education to its pupils. The role involves close daily support to the Head, providing timely financial insights for strategic and operational decisions.
Additionally, as Clerk to the Governors, the Director will work closely with the board, delivering financial forecasts to guide strategic planning and reporting on the School's financial performance.
Duties of the role include:
- Leading sustainable Finance strategies, and either Human Resources or IT strategies, aligning them with the School's Strategic Plan
- Building strong relationships and partnerships to support strategic priorities
- Implementing robust policies, procedures and systems for the Finance team and either the Human Resources or IT team
- Establishing a management information framework for strategic decision-making
- Benchmarking performance against other organisations to drive improvement
- Overseeing procurement and contract management systems
- Managing the School's Risk Management framework
- Leading organisational change programmes
- Reviewing the performance and structure of the Finance department
- Leading, managing, and developing the Finance team and either the IT or Human Resources team
- Working closely with the Director of Operations to promote a high performing support function
The Successful Applicant
As the Director of Finance you will have:
- A full Accountancy Qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ CIPFA/ ACA)
- Extensive experience of developing, leading and delivering successful finance strategies
- A track record of developing high quality financial and performance management information
- Expertise in building effectively partnerships and/or relationships with key stakeholders
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to identify new opportunities/challenges to inform key decision making

About the role
The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for executing Pro Bono Economics’ (PBE) fundraising strategy under the Director of Development’s guidance. This role focuses on increasing and diversifying income through building relationships with trusts, foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, while also securing funding for specific research projects in collaboration with the research team. The role includes managing donor engagement, overseeing grant applications, leading a small team, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations, all while maintaining operational oversight of the fundraising department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Fundraising strategy implementation: Deliver PBE’s multi-year fundraising strategy to expand and diversify income from major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners and research institutions
- New business development: Identify and secure new funding opportunities, focusing on building sustainable partnerships.
- Research support: Collaborate with the research team to identify funding for specific research projects and submit tailored grant proposals.
- Donor engagement: Steward relationships with existing donors, ensuring renewals and funding upgrades.
- Bid writing & reports: Develop and write compelling grant applications, case for support documents and reports which communicate PBE’s services and research programmes.
- Departmental leadership: Support the Director of Development in managing budgets, resources, and a fundraising officer, ensuring team efficiency and future planning.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to fundraising regulations and policies, including GDPR and safeguarding.
About you
Report directly to the Director of Development, the Head of Fundraising will have the following experience and skills.
Experience
- You have senior fundraising experience across a broad mix of income streams, a talent for building partnerships, bid writing and a strategic mindset.
- Experience working with research-driven organisations is a plus, as is familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
- You are happy to roll up your sleeves and spend as much time focused on immediate management and income priorities as you are on strategy and ideation.
- Will be suited to a senior fundraiser looking for their first Heads of role or someone who has already taken that step.

The Job
Tiko is a fast-growing and ambitious non-profit and a recent transformational multi-million pound grant is kick-starting us on our way to taking our fundraising and our organization to the next level. As such, we are looking for a experienced, driven New Business Development Lead with a solid track record in personally securing 6 – 7 figure grants from new donors, whether government, institutional, INGOs and/or large trusts and foundations, to join our NBD team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to:
- Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify high quality new donor leads for Tiko and proactively track and respond to large funding opportunities and RFPs, helping us continuously build and enhance our prospect pipeline
- Carry out detailed research and mappings to identify existing links with potential donors, whether through our leadership, Board, donors etc. and recommend pathways to relationship building
- Lead and manage the full proposal development process - from identification of the funding opportunity and detailed review of eligibility/suitability to assess our likelihood of success, through to creating buy-in around responsibilities and timelines, motivating and organizing internal stakeholders, guiding players through every step in the proposal process, gathering inputs from technical leads, working with finance teams on budget development, creating supplementary materials, to rolling up your sleeves and writing the proposal and supporting documents as required (Theories of Change, Risk Matrices, Log Frames etc.).
- Deliver significant funding from new donors (candidates will be expected to show evidence of winning funding of a minimum of 6 figures)
- Create high quality fundraising materials tailored to the needs of specific donor audiences e.g. concept notes, slide decks etc.
- Support the systematization and increased efficiency of fundraising at Tiko through timely updating of Salesforce, and general best practice usage of our tools and project management system (Asana).
About You
You have a deep passion for using your skills in leveraging funding to make the world a better, more equitable place, and an ability to balance big picture, strategic thinking and design with getting tangible activities operationalised. Specifically:
- You are an exceptional writer, with an ability to produce compelling proposals, tailored to the specific needs and interests of different donors. These might be technical, institutional bids, requiring ToCs, logframes etc, ‘Big Bet’ pitches which will rely on powerful storytelling or applications to large foundations, among others.
- Sitting within the small but growing NBD team, you are nonetheless comfortable working autonomously (with the role being majority remote), while building the connections needed across our global team to get the information you need to raise funds for Tiko.
- You are comfortable working in an organisation that is fast-paced and experiencing significant growth. You show flexibility and resilience as structures, processes and ways of working evolve.
- You are confident in managing competing priorities while meeting both internal and external deadlines and flexible enough to juggle your work where opportunities come in at the last minute.
- You are an excellent communicator, able to effectively tell our story and market our offerings in a compelling way, engaging partners, and donors, and inspiring them to support Tiko.
Experience and Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fundraising role(s), with a preference for experience in institutional, trust/foundation and/or Big Bet philanthropy, and evidence of personal track record in bringing in new funding.
- Experience working for an international development NGO is desirable, particularly in the space of SRH, SGBV and/or women and girls’ rights more broadly.
- Willingness to join the team in the local office ideally one day per week and for occasional international travel (1 - 2 weeks per year)

The Rewards

The gross salary brackets for this position are £40,000 - £60,000/year in the UK, R710,694 - R1,066,040/year in South Africa, and Ksh4,534,542 - Ksh6,801,813/year in Kenya.
