Job Summary 
This Volunteering Coordinator is a new position that will directly support the management of our volunteers, the projects they work within and how they engage with people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are integral to our projects year-round and contribute to our strategic goals around community power and solidarity. Our projects range from Christmas events, engagement projects, prevention initiatives and supporting fundraising campaigns. 

This Volunteering Coordinator will be instrumental in the recruitment, onboarding, welfare and on-going support of our volunteers, some of whom also use our services. They will be passionate about people and enjoy working closely within our project teams to ensure volunteers have the best possible experience. 

Key responsibilities 

As the Volunteering Coordinator is a new role for Caring in Bristol, certain elements will evolve as the position embeds into the team. However, the key focusses will be to: 

Recruitment of volunteers 

• Promote volunteering opportunities across the city 

• Target potential volunteers who support our mission and values, have appropriate skillsets, and represent groups who are representative of the clients we support and align with our strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion goals 

• Through a variety of promotional tools create and distribute volunteer recruitment assets for Caring in Bristol marketing channels to spread CiB volunteering opportunities 

• Attend volunteering recruitment events and engage with prospective volunteers 

• Work with Income Generation colleagues to build a base of engaged and informed volunteers to support fundraising events and activities in the community 

• Develop and deliver the volunteer application process 

• Conduct reference and DBS checks for new volunteers where required 

Volunteer Retention 

• Update and develop our volunteer induction programme with project staff embedding the values of the charity as well as an understanding of homelessness in our city 

• Provide pastoral guidance to volunteers, to ensure they feel heard and supported 

• Get to know our regular volunteers and work alongside them to understand the best way to motivate and engage them in their roles 

• Attend the projects on a regular basis 

• Work with CiB Safeguarding Leads to uphold the safety and safeguarding of volunteers and our service users in the development and management of volunteering in the organisation 

• Escalate volunteer complaints or disciplinary issues to project managers and senior management as appropriate 

• Manage communication with our volunteer groups, including curating a regular newsletter to keep volunteers informed about our work 

Administration - Volunteer Management & Development 

• Working alongside our Corporate and Community Coordinator, manage opportunities for groups of corporate volunteers within the organisation 

• Update volunteer-facing documentation and policies including the Code of Conduct, ensuring they are implemented consistently across Caring in Bristol volunteering

• Become the organisation's administrator/key user for the volunteer management database. 

• Provide administrative support to ensure volunteers receive any out-of-pocket expenses

• Support Caring at Christmas volunteer allocations and project-specific communication 

• Work as part of the Caring at Christmas on-site management rota 

• Manage the central volunteer email inbox, consulting with project teams where necessary to ensure queries are managed in an appropriate and timely fashion.

Your role

The fundraising and communications group at CMS has ambitious goals and targets and you’ll play a key role in helping successfully deliver on these. You’ll harness the huge potential of social media and other digital platforms to help CMS get the attention of our target audiences, build brand awareness, raise money and recruit people to our mission programmes. As well as having a strong working knowledge of social media platforms, you will need to be able to create and edit video as well as other forms of compelling content.

What you’ll need to succeed

It is essential that the post holder has proven social media, organic and paid content production experience, including video creation, and knowledge of social media posting and interaction via Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn in an organisational context.

In addition, we are looking for proven website editing experience using a content management system such as WordPress and email marketing via a client such as DotDigital.

About the role:

ILPA is a charity and professional membership body working to improve immigration, asylum and nationality law. Our training programme is a core part of our work and one of our largest income streams. We deliver over 60 courses and conferences a year to an average of 2,000 practitioners across the UK, supporting lawyers, caseworkers, advisers and organisations working with migrants. 

The Training Manager will not directly teach any training content but will run this programme end to end, ensuring all trainings and events are delivered professionally, to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational skills, confidence with digital platforms and the ability to work with experienced external tutors. The post holder will shape the training calendar with support from the Training Advisory Board and maintain ILPA’s reputation for high-quality, practitioner-led training. 

Key Responsibilities 

Programme planning and development 

• Build and manage the annual and quarterly training schedule with a balance of advanced, intermediate and introductory courses across immigration, asylum and nationality law

We are looking for a senior partnerships officer who will ensure our vital work to address the
environmental crisis is well funded, working to secure new partnerships and stewarding existing
funder relationships.

This multifaceted role works across teams to coordinate and deliver Green Alliance’s fundraising
activities and grant management. Collaborating with the organisation’s policy and political
experts, you support the creation of creative and impactful new project proposals that address
environmental problems and support the organisation’s strategy. You will identify funders for this
through prospecting and relationship building and will guide proposals through processes to
secure funds. You will monitor the organisation’s progress against fundraising targets and lead on
management of our funding pipeline.

Stewardship of existing funding relationships is a significant part of this role which means
ensuring we have excellent communication with our funders, making sure they receive high
quality reports on Green Alliance’s impact and supporting the team to see our funders as partners.
You will manage our Business Circle and maintain relationships with its members and support
efforts to recruit new business members into Green Alliance Task Forces.

The Quality Assurance Manager is a blended leadership role combining strategic quality assurance, performance oversight, service management and practice development.

The role is split broadly between focused on quality assurance, data-led improvement and performance oversight, and two days focused on service management, practice leadership and frontline improvement activity.

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Team Leaders and other service-based roles as required

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Service Manager will have overall responsibility for the operational leadership, quality, performance and contract delivery of both the LB Newham Core and the Intensive Support Accommodation contracts. The role will ensure a joined-up support pathway for residents with low, medium, high and complex support needs, promoting safety, stabilisation, independence, move-on and long-term tenancy sustainment.

The post-holder will lead staff teams to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred support for vulnerable single homeless adults, including residents with multiple disadvantage, high levels of risk and complex support needs.

The role will set, monitor and embed clear resettlement and support standards, ensuring residents receive consistent assessment, support planning, risk management, move-on preparation and tenancy sustainment support.

The role will be accountable for safeguarding, housing management, performance reporting, quality assurance, partnership working, commissioner confidence and continuous service improvement.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality, trauma-informed and gender-informed support service for women living in the Complex Needs service. The post-holder will hold a caseload of women residents who may be experiencing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, rough sleeping, domestic abuse, mental ill health, substance use, exploitation, offending histories, social isolation and complex trauma.

The Women’s Support Worker will provide persistent, compassionate and practical support to women who may find it difficult to trust services, sustain engagement or accept support consistently. The role requires someone who can build safe, respectful relationships at the woman’s pace, while maintaining clear professional boundaries and supporting women to stabilise, feel safer, reduce risk and work towards their own goals.

The post-holder will work as part of the wider frontline support team, leading on support planning, advocacy and multi-disciplinary working for women residents. They will also support colleagues’ day to day to apply gender-informed practice, strengthen engagement with women and ensure support is coordinated, responsive and centred on women’s safety, choice and wellbeing.

This role forms part of a seven-day rota and will include some evening and weekend working.

As a Youth Volunteering Officer, you will work closely with the Volunteer Manager and the Networks for Nature project staff to deliver an inclusive volunteering programme for young people aged 14-25. About the role

The Side-by-Side project supports children in care and care leavers to have the same opportunities as those who have not experienced care.

For many young people, navigating the care system and especially the transition to leaving care can be complex, isolating, and overwhelming. Too often, care-experienced young people are expected to face adulthood before they are ready, without the safety nets of family, friends, and community networks that many of us take for granted.

The project provides a mentoring and befriending service, offering consistent, trusted relationships that help young people feel less alone, build confidence and life skills, and navigate key life changes as they move towards independence.

Side-by-Side supports young people with a range of needs, including those who may be at risk of exploitation, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, and young people living with identified mental health challenges. The project is guided by strong safeguarding practice, built on trust, and delivered through trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.

Working 18 hours per week, you will work directly with young people through engagement sessions, group activities and co-designed initiatives. You will also work alongside volunteers, supporting them to safely and effectively engage with young people. This role does not involve acting as a young person’s key worker or holding a caseload. Instead your focus is on enabling connections, strengthening community networks and creating opportunities for young people to thrive across Solihull.

The role involves regular travel across the South East to meet supporters and stakeholders, as well as national travel approximately 6–8 times per year. A full UK driving licence and access to a car for business purposes are required.

Are you passionate about reducing health inequalities and supporting some of the most marginalised people in our communities?

We are recruiting for a compassionate, organised, and proactive Peer Support Lead to support our hepatitis C peer project in the Oxford & Thames Valley area. Peers use their lived experience to raise awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and help people access testing and treatment.

Working alongside healthcare professionals, drug and alcohol services, homelessness services, and community organisations, you will recruit, train and support volunteer peers to deliver hepatitis C awareness raising, practical and emotional support.

This is a varied and rewarding community-based position involving travel across the Oxford and Thames Valley region.

About you
We are looking for someone who can build trust and engage people with complex needs in a respectful, non-judgemental way. You’ll be a good communicator, confident working with partner services and supporting volunteers, with good organisational skills and an understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and managing risk.

We welcome applications from people with either lived experience or professional experience relevant to the role. This may include hepatitis C, drug or alcohol use, homelessness, the criminal justice system, or supporting people facing similar challenges.
