About the role:
Recovery is about more than addressing immediate needs. It is also about having somewhere to belong, opportunities to build confidence and skills, meaningful connections with other people, and the chance to take part in the community around you. As our Recovery and Opportunities Co-ordinator, you’ll help make those opportunities a reality for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage in our St John's Mansions service.
You’ll develop and coordinate our Recovery and Opportunities programme, creating activities and opportunities that reflect what clients actually want from their services and communities. You’ll work alongside clients, colleagues, volunteers and peer supporters to co-produce activities, build participation and make sure people are supported to get involved in ways that feel meaningful to them. You’ll also help equip others with the confidence, training and resources they need to deliver opportunities effectively.
A big part of the role happens beyond our services. You’ll build strong relationships with community organisations, local residents, statutory and voluntary-sector partners and other opportunities across Islington, opening doors for clients to access volunteering, education, cultural activities and wider community life. You’ll represent Single Homeless Project (SHP) at local forums and events, champion social value across our services and look for creative ways we can contribute positively to the communities our clients are part of.
You’ll also help us understand what is making a difference, monitoring participation and outcomes and using what we learn to strengthen the programme over time. It’s a role with plenty of scope for creativity and initiative, where you can turn relationships, ideas and client feedback into opportunities that reduce isolation, strengthen belonging and help people move forward with greater confidence, independence and purpose.
About you:
- You have experience engaging and motivating people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including people who may have previously found it difficult to engage with services or opportunities.
- You can develop, coordinate and facilitate engaging groups, activities or programmes, and understand how to encourage meaningful participation from different people.
- You’re confident building relationships with community organisations, residents, colleagues and external partners, and can turn those relationships into practical opportunities for clients.
- You understand the importance of social value and social impact and can think creatively about how services can contribute positively to their local communities.
- You’re an engaging communicator who can work collaboratively across different teams, represent a service externally and bring people together around a shared goal.
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.

About the role:
A safe, well maintained room can be the foundation someone needs to begin rebuilding their life. As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll make sure our supported accommodation across London provides the safe, dignified and welcoming environment every client deserves.
This is a hands on, multi skilled maintenance role focused on minor repairs and property improvements rather than specialist or technically qualified trade work. Travelling between different services across London, you’ll complete jobs such as painting and decorating, repairing walls and fixtures, basic carpentry, minor plumbing, tiling and preparing empty rooms so they can be offered safely and quickly to someone who needs a home.
You’ll plan and manage a varied workload, respond to urgent health and safety concerns and identify problems before they become more serious. You’ll also inspect rooms and communal areas, record completed work clearly, arrange materials and flag any repairs that need to be passed to a qualified contractor. At times, you may check completed contractor work and provide feedback where standards have not been met.
Our accommodation is home to people who have experienced homelessness, mental ill health and other forms of multiple disadvantage. Some services are larger, hostel-style buildings, while others are smaller residential properties. You’ll often be working in occupied environments and may meet clients while completing repairs, so you’ll need to be comfortable working respectfully around people who may be distressed or experiencing a difficult time. You won’t be expected to provide support or manage challenging situations alone, and service colleagues will be available to help.
You’ll join a growing Maintenance Team that shares knowledge, works collaboratively and takes pride in getting the details right. With plenty of variety and autonomy, this is an opportunity to develop your practical skills while seeing the direct difference your work makes to the buildings we manage and the people who call them home.
About you:
- You have practical experience completing minor repairs, including painting and decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry and tiling.
- You can work safely and independently, while recognising when a specialist contractor is needed.
- You’re organised, reliable and able to manage jobs across multiple sites.
- You’re comfortable working respectfully in occupied supported accommodation where clients may be present.
- You take pride in delivering good-quality work that helps create safe and dignified homes.

Tearfund's vision is an exciting one: to see people lifted out of poverty, living transformed lives and fulfilling their God-given potential. In the Church and Supporter Engagement team, we have the joy of helping to make that happen.
We're at an exciting stage at Tearfund, as we reach out to a range of Church Leaders seeking to inspire them about Tearfund's work and encourage partnership to enable Tearfund to help more people who are living in poverty. We have the privilege of working with a wide range of churches, as well as Tearfund's field staff, technical experts and leadership team. We enable church leaders and churches to connect with the issues they are passionate about and to challenge the injustices they see. We do that through personal connection and a key way to facilitate this is through our excellent events.
We are looking for a passionate Events Executive to run and manage Tearfund's Events within the Church Partnerships Team and to take them to the next level!
Good relationships are key to this role - both internally and externally - so building connections in both spheres is key to this role.
We offer a supportive team environment, where we are always learning, as well as the opportunity to test new ideas and develop our approach to our Events.
If you are a confident, proactive and self-motivated relationship builder and good at organisation, we would love to hear from you!

The Associate Director (Investments) role will design and lead a new mission-aligned strategy that puts racial justice and community power at its centre - redefining how our capital can be put to work to restore dignity and collective care within communities.
This is not a conventional investment role. It will take all of us, including our grant partners to imagine, design and build. Your role is to hold this with bravery and humility, and a willingness to shift as we continue to learn and deepen our strategic ambitions.
We are looking for someone who is as comfortable engaging with communities on the ground as they are with fund managers and wealth advisers - someone who understands that the way capital moves is itself an act of power, and who brings the vision, relationships and technical grounding to help Tudor use its assets in genuine service of our mission.
You will sit on the Senior Leadership Team, serve as Tudor's primary investment adviser to the Board and Finance
& Investment Committee, and lead a working group of trustees and partners as we chart this new course.
