Principal Job Duties of Role
Income generation
-
Proactively develop income through supporter (DIY) events, providing support and attending events where invited/required.

Proactively recruit sports teams to fundraise through kit sponsorship scheme, sporting events and activities

Develop gaming fundraising activity.

Support DIY Fundraising events by providing support, resources, and attending when required/requested

Support Music & Arts Fundraising Programme of activity

Support the school’s fundraising programme throughout Northwest England. This will include working with schools, presenting and talking with teachers and pupils in classrooms and assemblies.

Support the development of income from Community Groups including (but not limited to) philanthropic groups such as Rotary, religious groups and social groups.
Stewardship
- Support the Charity Ambassador programme. Maintaining relationships with current Ambassadors, identifying potential new Ambassadors and supporting and developing their fundraising through effective motivation and stewardship.

Develop initiatives to engage Alder Hey trust staff in Charity activity, events and support

Manage community Gifts in Kind for patients, staff and families including donations of tickets and record on the Charity CRM system (Salesforce)
Other Duties

Assist with other aspects of Community and wider Charity fundraising including the Charity events programme and various campaigns and projects where required.

Undertake other duties which may be designated from time to time by the Senior Management Team to achieve the Charity’s objectives, including representing the department on occasions, functions and events as required.

To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post at all times in compliance with the Charity’s policies and brand.

Cooperate in a professional manner with all organisational staff and maintain good relations with external bodies in order to promote the organisation’s image and gain increased support for its work.

We currently have an opening for a Community Fundraiser, to be based in the Mid-North Wales and West Midlands region.
As the Community Fundraiser covering Mid-North Wales and West Midlands, you will play a crucial role in helping the charity meet its strategic plans and objectives, which include campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
Your role will be to generate and grow our income through community fundraising activities, contributing to a regional team target of more than £1 million.

Hours: 35 hours per week (full time)Contract type:

Salary: NJC SCP 23 to 25 (£34,434 to £36,363)
Based: Home working, with regular travel across Greater Manchester and to our offices in Liverpool, Leeds, Wakefield and Coventry.

We offer a range of unique services delivered at local, regional and national level in the areas of health promotion, community health education and engaging and involving communities in health and social care decision making.
The Community Fundraiser role is responsible for establishing and developing community fundraising systems and activities. This is BHA's first dedicated fundraising position, offering a unique opportunity to build sustainable income streams whilst building trusted relationships with Ethnic Minorities communities in and around Manchester, and others interested in supporting our cause. You will plan and deliver culturally appropriate fundraising events, develop digital fundraising campaigns, establish donor databases and create fundraising systems that align with our values and mission. The successful applicant should bring proven experience in community fundraising with our target audience.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate success in generating income through community engagement, has experience planning and delivering fundraising events, and understands the principles of community-centric fundraising.You will be comfortable establishing systems and processes as needed, working independently whilst collaborating across teams. Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with diverse communities is essential, along with the ability to build trust and rapport with different community groups. Strong communication skills, attention to detail regarding compliance and data protection, and creative problem-solving abilities will be crucial to your success in this role.The post holder will have the following essential criteria:
- Experience in successfully generating income through community fundraising activities
- Demonstrable experience working and building relationships with marginalised communities, particularly LGBTQ+ and/or Ethnic Minorities communities
- Experience planning and delivering fundraising events
- Experience establishing or developing fundraising systems and processes
- Understanding of the challenges and opportunities in fundraising within diverse communities
- Prepared to abide by the values and ethos of BHA For Equality
- Prepared to regularly work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends for community events
- Must have the right to work in the UK at the time of appointment. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship. We carry out right to work checks fairly and without discrimination.
