The Silver Line Helpline is recruiting for 2 Helpline Volunteer Co-ordinators to join their fantastic team providing a vital service to older people across the UK. The Silver Line Helpline is a free, confidential telephone service offering friendship, conversation and support to older people, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As a Helpline Volunteer Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting and growing a valued team of volunteers who deliver a high quality, safe and compassionate service to older people. You’ll ensure volunteers receive a good onboarding experience, feel confident in their role and are supported every step of the way.
Working closely with colleagues across the Helpline, you’ll manage volunteer recruitment and onboarding, deliver training, respond to enquiries, and help volunteers use a range of IT systems. You’ll work flexibly in a fast paced, 24 hour service environment, including taking and making calls to older people when needed. Your work will help ensure volunteers are well trained, supported, and empowered to deliver a consistent, empathetic and safe service.
These exciting positions offer hybrid working between home and our Blackpool office. We currently require office attendance a minimum of once a quarter. You may also be asked to attend the office occasionally for training or other reasons, as required. You will be on a hybrid contract and must cover the costs of all travel to the office yourself. Our office attendance requirements will be reviewed later in 2026.
This role is a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am-8pm. It will include regular weekend working, and Bank Holiday working, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

The role
Organisation:
The Student Lifestyle & Behaviours Coordinator role is to supervise, develop and support staff to deliver the Community, Advice & Support departmental plan. Family Action & the Role’s Impact:
We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQ+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to become mentors in the local community.
Project Indigo is the LGBTQ+ youth service based at Off Centre at Family Action. It is open to anyone aged 16-25 who identifies as LGBTQ+ or is exploring their sexuality or gender identity. Our weekly youth group is a safe, supportive space for LGBTQ+ young people to meet each other and participate in workshops and activities. In addition to the youth group, Project Indigo offers 1-to-1 support and advice sessions with the Project Lead. The group aims to support young people to build links with the local LGBTQ+ community, build meaningful relationships and get support around issues that are impacting them. Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to support them in accessing training and support to do community-focused work. The Peer Mentoring Coordinator’s role will be to develop a new Peer Mentoring Programme, supporting older Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQ+ people in the local community.
Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who reside/are registered with a City and Hackney GP. These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings; targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH); and an Information and Advice provision.
The role
As the Peer Mentoring Coordinator, you will develop and lead Project Indigo’s Peer Mentoring Programme. Central to the role will be understanding young mentors’ needs and goals, and providing high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process. You will further develop the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, liaising with partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.
Your impact
This role will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs. You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQ+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.
Your skills
You will be a confident communicator with proven experience of working in a supportive role with LGBTQ+ young people and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQ+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.
You will be empathetic and maintain an understanding of the social issues impacting young LGBTQ+ people. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively. You will have an understanding of risk management, health and safety issues and the ability in accordance with local and organisational safeguarding policies.

Role Description
The Programme Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring the smooth running of all student related events. This will include having a full understanding of the SEO-London law programmes; understanding the legal industry that the programme supports; how these fits into the SEO-London organisation and using this knowledge to liaise with students and client/partner firms to run, organise and market successful events. In turn this role will be responsible for using data to run reports to show the impact of each programme.
Reporting to the Head of Law Programme, you will make recommendations for possible changes and ideas to further support the student experience. The role will also ensure a seamless and professional level of customer care to all students of the Corporate Law Programme and City Solicitors Horizons scheme.
Accountabilities
DAY TO DAY DELIVERY OF EVENTS
- Responsible for the overall administration of all student events, with specific responsibility to ensure student communication is exceptional. Including event management, student and partner communication and coordination of all the relevant stakeholders, along with posting roles on opportunities pages, promoting events and managing the law commercial awareness newsletter content.
STUDENT MANAGEMENT & QUERY HANDLING
- Responsible for the relationship management of the students - including the ability to understand needs, resolve issues and anticipating and creating a strong relationship on behalf of SEO-London
- Responsible for managing student query escalations and to identify where there are opportunities to improve communication, marketing, or the type of events

The Role

Summary
Since January 2023, there has been a regular pattern of worship on site in Church House Chapel and online prayer and worship offered by staff for staff based at Church House and in the NCIs as follows:
- Weekly Wednesday Eucharist (said) at 12.30pm in Church HouseChapel;
- Almost monthly'special' Eucharists with choir, congregationalsingingandsermon;
- Daily online Morning Prayer, 8.45am;
- Daily emails offering prayer; and,
- Weekly Pause for Prayer email on Fridays.
In order to ensure the sustainability of the on-site worship at Church House, the Chief Officers of the NCIs are looking for someone who can take on the role of Worship Coordinator. This role focuses on the on-site worship offering, though the Worship Coordinator will be helpful in offering support and collegiality to staff offering online worship and prayer.
As Worship Coordinator you will take the lead in ensuring that there is always a weekly Eucharist, and bringing people together to provide a pattern of worship in Church House Chapel that reflects the diversity of staff at Church House.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organising the rota for the weekly Eucharist in Church House Chapel;
- Presiding at the Church House Eucharist at least once a month, though twice a month may be more likely;
- Ensuring that clergy presiding at the Eucharist are well-briefed;
- Creating orders of service, or work with others to do so, for specialservices;
- Arranging special services (around 8 per year - mainly Eucharistsbut others as well, e.g. carol service) in Church House Chapel (this need not include presiding or being present for these services if you are required elsewhere, but organisation in the run up and ensuring someone to take the lead is essential);
- Ensuring diversity in the people leading and being part of worship in the Chapel;
- Working with the sacristan(s) to ensure that the Chapel is prepared and well-stocked;
- Communicating services to staff and liaising with internal communications on publicity;
- Finding and supporting volunteers in the life of the Chapel e.g. readers, intercessors, chalice assistants;
- Liaising with the choir director(s) and musicians on music for special services;
- Thinking creatively about different styles of worship in the Chapel, while ensuring a weekly Eucharist;
- Meeting semi-regularly with staff who provide online worship to discuss ideas, join up any themes, and give mutual support;
- Consulting with staff about what they would like in terms of worship in the Chapel; and,
- Praying for staff and being part of the team offering prayer support by email.

- A salary of £7,224.80 per annum (£36,124 FTE), plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
