WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
The Legal Counsel role will be joining a Legal team consisting of one senior lawyer and one paralegal, who are responsible for the management of all legal, regulatory and compliance matters relating to the Fondation’s operations across over 60 countries worldwide.
We are looking for an energetic lawyer to join our dynamic team, where you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful work as part of an innovative and ambitious growing organisation.
The Legal Counsel’s principal role will be to support the Managing Counsel with compliance and governance matters as well as the legal support for grant making activities globally. The role will lead (with the support of the paralegal) on the drafting and negotiation all grant agreements and commercial contracts for each of the regions.
This is a role that blends social justice purpose with corporate foundation rigour—supporting the Fondation teams delivering its mission in compliance with all relevant laws and best practice.
What you will bring
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience drafting and reviewing contracts. Experience working in a not-for-profit environment on grant management contracts and administration is preferable but not essential.
· Proven project management, time management, and organisation skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities across global teams.
· Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all aspects of contract management, documentation, and communication.
· An ability to quickly identify areas for improvement and make impactful changes, employing a test and learn approach
· A collaborative approach, adept at engaging stakeholders across all levels, quickly facilitating buy in and support
· Deep integrity, respect for confidentiality and discretion.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Working knowledge of French or other languages, welcome and useful but not required.

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
About the service
East London Rape Crisis provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not they have reported to the police. We offer confidential and independent support. Services include advocacy, emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling and group work.

Hours: 14 hours per week including 1 evening per week
Salary: [£12,600 – £14,000 (FTE £31,500 - £35,000 depending on experience
Team: East London Rape Crisis Therapeutic Team
Location: East London (Current office locations include Islington, Dagenham Heathway and Waltham Forest. We have further satellite counselling hubs across East London. We offer a hybrid working approach combined of office, outreach and home working)

We are recruiting a part-time, multilingual counsellor to provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic support to young people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, with a particular focus on refugees and people seeking asylum. This includes delivering one to one counselling, group therapy, and therapeutic workshops within a busy day centre setting.
You will be passionate about providing culturally competent therapy with a strong understanding of the mental health needs of marginalised communities, particularly refugees and people seeking asylum. You will have fluency in one or more languages commonly spoken by refugee communities, which is essential to this role.
You will be confident working with complex trauma, comfortable in a dynamic, community-based environment, and committed to creating accessible and affirming therapeutic spaces for young people who may have experienced significant barriers to support.

Contract type and hours: The role is part-time. The post holder will be required to work 21 hours across three 3 days per week. The exact working pattern will be determined following interview. Some work over the Christmas period will be required.
