Job Summary 
 
To manage and ensure control of the funding, financial and corporate resources of the Charity to ensure a financially secure service, delivering value for money. 

Work with the Co-Directors to advise and develop the financial strategy, model new projects, prepare annual and project budgets, and report on financial performance, contributing to the overall future strategic direction of the Charity.

Manage the day-to-day finances for the Charity. Ensure all aspects of the financial systems are accurate and up to date, including banking, sales and purchase ledgers, payroll and cash management.

The postholder is expected to foster excellent working relationships with all staff, volunteers, senior colleagues and trustees.

Day to Day Financial Management 

• Regularly review and maintain financial policies and procedures. 

• Review the monthly reconciliations carried out by the SFAO thereby ensuring all transactions are properly and efficiently recorded. 

• Oversee the management and appropriate allocation of Restricted Funds, ensuring the monies are allocated according to the donor’s wishes and ensure that records are always maintained 

• Regularly review and make recommendations for improvements to financial controls and ensuring methods are documented and made clear to staff.

• Support with funding bids and reports back to donors 

• Management of all charity bank accounts, acting as authorised signatory with Banks 

Payroll, Pensions and Tax Management 

• Supervise the payroll process carried out by SFAO 

• Responsible for the effective management Charity’s Pension Scheme

• Ensure payments to HMRC are made accurately and on time, and ensure all available allowances are claimed. 

Budget Process Management 

• Take the lead on preparing the Annual Budget, working closely with SLT to capture all spending plans Develop and run a process which is thorough, consistent and inclusive of all managers. 

• Alongside the Co-Director, present the Draft Budget to Board for approval 

• Present monthly management accounts and Cost Centre reports for all managers

• Work closely with all SLT to ensure they fully understand their budgets and ongoing organisational performance against budget 

• Monitor variations against spend and integrate within an overall Cashflow analysis 

• Recommend corrective actions to Co- Directors and/or Board as necessary 

Statutory Reporting & Charity compliance 

• Act as lead member of staff with the Charity’s Auditors 

• Oversee the preparation of the Annual Accounts plus any supporting papers required to enable an efficient and effective annual audit to take place 

• Maintain fixed asset register and inventory of all equipment contracts/agreements 

• Ensure the Charity is fully compliant with statutory bodies and key external institutions, and act as lead on behalf of the charity with the following bodies: 

• Charity Commission 

• Companies House 

• Pensions Regulator 

• HMRC 

• Valuation Office 

• All Banks 
   

Account Management – Key Suppliers/Contractors 

Insurance 

• Take the lead in managing the insurance renewals process, and ensure that a comprehensive suite of insurances is in place to cover key risks across the Charity 
   

Financial Risk Management 

• Ensure appropriate financial risk management techniques and controls are in place at strategic and operational levels. 

• Develop, update and produce long term cashflow forecasts to evidence that the Charity can operate as a going concern. 

• Provide up-to-date dashboards and reports of the financial position, projections and scenarios, considering the financial implications of alternative business models, advice on new and current business income generation initiatives and analysis of financial risk and performance. 

• Work with the Co-Directors, to ensure that the appropriate processes are in place for the long-term financial viability of the charity, advising on the financial consequences of proposed actions 
   

Governance support to FING Committee and Trustees 

• Assist the Chair of FING Committee (Treasurer) 

• Prepare all associated papers and minutes 

• Prepare finance papers for Treasurer to deliver to Board of Trustees 

• Attend Board of Trustees meetings and present information as requested 
   

General 

• Postholder to adhere to their relevant Code of Ethics as laid down by their professional body, being mindful that adherence to the code takes precedence over charity policy and practice should a conflict ever arise. [NB Sections A + C of the current professional code are applicable.]

• Keep abreast of financial developments across the charity sector and ensure any opportunities for tax reliefs, cost reduction, value for money and more effective systems are seized as appropriate.

• Undertake any other duties as determined by the Co-Directors.

Essential 

• Minimum part qualified accountant or qualified by experience with strong financial management experience, with an ability to understand the practical impact of finance decisions and processes across the whole charity. 

• Specialist knowledge of Charities required, including Charity SORP guidance and procedures, underpinned by strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience. 

• Ability to work with the Co-directors to lead the formulation of long-term financial plans and strategies which will influence the long-term direction of the charity. 

• Experience in developing major finance policy development. 

• Experience in budgeting and financial planning.

• Experience in management accounting. 

• Ability to receive, process and provide highly complex or sensitive financial information including ability to analyse and clearly communicate financial information.

• Strong IT skills including the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, and experience of using databases. 

• Solid organisational skills including consistency, accuracy, and an eye for detail. 

• Experience of line management and supporting and developing staff. 

• Knowledge and understanding of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion practices. 

Desirable  

• Experience in using QuickBooks accounting software is desirable or transferrable knowledge of similar online accounting packages.

The Berkshire and Hampshire Borders (BHB) Methodist Circuit is a network of twenty-five churches across western Berkshire and northern Hampshire, united by a vision to proclaim God's love as a justice-seeking community. As Operations Manager, you'll be the backbone supporting our work. Working with the Leadership Team, you'll coordinate the operational infrastructure that keeps twenty-five autonomous churches running — from property and finance to safeguarding and compliance — empowering churches and outreach staff to deliver high-quality support to church members and vulnerable people.

The Role
You'll provide operational guidance and support to the Circuit Leadership Team and Circuit Meeting (Trustees), attending meetings and preparing reports on governance matters. You'll manage the Circuit Finance Officer, ensuring sound accounting practices, financial controls, and reporting. Across property, you'll oversee 19 houses — coordinating quinquennial inspections, maintenance plans, manse preparation for incoming ministers, externally managed letting of surplus properties, and professional appointments for sales and purchases. You'll also support energy and telecoms contract negotiations.

In safeguarding, you'll co-lead the Circuit Safeguarding Team, coordinate training, and maintain records of DBS checks. For health and safety, you'll guide churches on policies, risk assessments, and fire safety, with professional support as needed. On EDI, you'll maintain awareness of Methodist policy, coordinate training, and promote inclusive practice. You'll line manage the Administration Finance Officer and Administration Officer.

Key Details
Permanent role, £45,000–£55,000, 37.5 hours per week based in Reading, Berkshire with occasional evening or weekend working and travel across the area. 33 days annual leave including public holidays, contributory pension, reasonable expenses reimbursed plus a training funded. Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities

Manage the DUK project portfolio

• Become a subject matter expert in applied and translational research in DMD, allowing informed decision making and effective communication with key stakeholders
• Support identification of new project and collaborative opportunities, including the ongoing management and delivery of our applicant-led funding call
• Support the Director of Research and Development in project scientific review, working with the Scientific Advisory Board, Patient Advisory Board, Senior Leadership Team and DUK Board of Trustees
• Manage project development and initiation, including contracting, the development of detailed project plans, including go/no-go milestones, and budgets
• Manage and oversee project delivery, including monitoring of progress, according to agreed timelines and deliverables (including written updates and formal reports), and managing project finances, including reviewing and approval of invoices and monitoring project expenditure
• Support research budget forecasting in liaison with the finance team and the Director of Research and Development, and ensure compliance across the project portfolio
• Build and manage relationships with external partners and maintain regular communication through the project life cycle
• Support the Director of Research and Development to identify areas of strategic focus to inform the development of new research programmes
• Contribute to and support the development of DUK led research proposals for external funding and work with the income generation team to identify opportunities for research funding

Research governance and processes

• Maintain and improve, as relevant, internal processes for research management and governance
• Act as system owner for the research functions within DUK’s CRM (Salesforce), maintaining records and driving process improvements for grant workflows and monitoring
• Support the Director of Research and Development in research governance activities
• Support the Director of Research and Development to ensure compliance with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) requirements, such as - contributing to annual data collection and surveys; implementation of AMRC processes and reviews recommendations, as relevant; keep up to date with relevant news and opportunities for training, collaboration and networking

Support the Director of Research and Development on the following external engagement activities

• Development and implementation of outreach and engagement activities in the DMD patient and research community to inform areas for research focus and prioritisation
• Scoping and development of formal and informal strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholder organisations (e.g. membership societies, other charities, consortia etc)

Support delivery of DUK flagship strategic programmes

DUK has strategic programmes in clinical research access and capacity, care standards and care access, assistive technologies and patient data. Under the oversight of the Director of Research and Development and working closely with the relevant programme team:

• Coordinate key programme updates and discussions between the DUK team and the programme teams
• Working with DUK comms team, support the development of external comms and marketing
• Working with the Director of Research and Development and the programme teams, support development of new initiatives and external funding opportunities

Other key responsibilities

• Provide general research admin support (e.g. arrange research meetings, both internal and external, prepare agendas and take minutes)
• Work with DUK comms team to identify case studies and success stories and support the development of the research comms strategy
• Coordinate research comms and work with the Director of Research and Development and comms team to ensure all research content is accurate and appropriate
• Work with the income generation and comms teams to provide updates to our key co-funding partners
• Support the collection of portfolio data across all programmes for DUK KPIs and to support DUK impact report development
• Coordinate and deliver research led events and support the Director of Research and Development in the agenda and content development for the annual Duchenne UK New Horizons conference
• Travel across the UK to attend meetings with partners

The Union of Students are looking for a Payroll Senior Coordinator to assist the Head of Finance in the smooth running of the Union Finance Department. They will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, helping to maintain precise financial records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant payroll regulations. This role involves collaborating with the Human Resources team to manage employee data and contribute to the smooth operation of the wider finance team. The post holder will assist in the preparation of accurate and timely Financial Management accounts and oversee the Sales Ledger and Finance Coordinator role ensuring that the sales ledger invoices are accurate and income is received. They will pay attention to detail and can work in a busy environment and to tight deadlines. It is expected that they will provide cover for the finance team in periods of absence as other team members would be expected to provide cover for this role under the same circumstances. As a member of the Union of Students the post holder will contribute to and support the delivery of our Strategic Plan.

Main Responsibilities

Payroll Management

• Manage end-to-end administration of permanent and student payrolls using SAGE.
• Ensure full compliance with HMRC, pension and statutory requirements.
• Process monthly and four‑weekly payrolls, including timesheets, holiday pay and accruals.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, cost centre allocations and control account reconciliations.
• Complete all HMRC submissions (RTI, PAYE, P60s, P11Ds, P45s, Class 1A NI).
• Administer pension schemes, including monthly payments, annual reviews and statutory re‑enrolment.
• Manage payroll-related benefits including car parking deductions and healthcare schemes.
• Act as a payroll point of contact for staff, providing guidance and resolving queries.

Human Resources Administration

• Coordinate documentation for new starters and leavers, including right‑to‑work checks.
• Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and master spreadsheets.
• Administer holiday entitlements, pro‑rata calculations and service‑based enhancements.
• Monitor sickness absence and trigger alerts in line with organisational policy.
• Act as first point of contact for routine HR queries and provide basic workforce reporting.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Support the Head of Finance in producing high‑quality, timely financial management information.
• Prepare monthly cost centre reports and ensure journals are accurate and submitted on schedule.

• Identify and escalate financial risks or issues as they arise.

Drive is a high risk / high harm domestic abuse perpetration intervention. Its sole aim is to reduce the risk posed by those using high levels of harm towards family members and / or (ex) partners. This is achieved via disruption, diversion and direct behaviour change work, where safe to do so, within a multi-agency framework.

The Case Manager will strive to work one-to-one with perpetrators who have been identified as high risk to pro-actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and connect with complementary services. To do this, the Case Manager will work with local agencies to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. However, it may not always be safe or possible to meet with the perpetrator. Equally as vital to risk reduction efforts is analysis of presenting information to identify ways to disrupt their abusive behaviour, alongside close-knit multiagency working to implement actions.

Throughout all intervention the Drive Case Manager will work closely with the local IDVA service to review risk, develop safety plans and improve outcomes for all parties involved.

The Case Manager will be responsible for delivering outcomes, working typically for up to 12 months to achieve behaviour change with each Service User.

About you
You’ll have a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on clients and children, as well as the reasons behind abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.

Your knowledge extends to the range of statutory and voluntary agencies that clients and their children may encounter, and you are aware of the impact of domestic abuse on children and parenting, including the additional needs of clients from BMER communities. 

You will have experience in working with clients on issues of domestic abuse, providing one-to-one and group support and advice, managing your own workload and administration, and assessing the risk and safety of your clients and those connected to your client.  You will have handled safeguarding disclosures and referrals, and you communicate clearly with a range of people both over the telephone and in person. 

You will be organised, able to use your initiative, and work effectively as part of a multi-service team. Your administrative skills are strong, and you are adept at using a computer to maintain effective systems. 

Flexible and willing to work evenings, you can travel independently. Additionally, you will understand trauma-informed practices, risk mitigation, and safeguarding. Experience liaising with social workers and other professionals, and in related areas such as substance misuse, child protection, or family support, is desirable. 

Fluency in an additional language and skills in group work are also advantageous. You stay updated with best practices and new initiatives.

Lyme Resource Centre (LRC) is a charity with a mission to minimise risk of Lyme disease whilst encouraging the enjoyment of outdoor activities. This goal is achieved through education of the public and healthcare professionals about ticks and Lyme disease. 

The charity has grown significantly over the past couple of years, and now needs a suitably talented individual to work with the Trustees, to lead the charity into its next phase of development. 

This is a great opportunity to play a defining role at an exciting stage of LRC’s evolution.

All of LRC’s existing team are highly committed volunteers - this will be the charity’s first step into a paid role.

·Work with LRC Trustees to provide charity leadership and the continuing evolution of the charity 

·Assist Trustees in shaping the charity’s direction and strategy

·Review, evolve and manage the subsequent change in the charity’s operational structure and ways of working to ensure efficiency & effectiveness

·Advise Trustees on investment in infrastructure and other resources needed to evolve the charity

·Lead development and delivery of annual operational plan, identify and managing risks

·Develop, implement annual, medium-term budgets and ensure funding matches requirements 

·Provide Trustees with timely updates, reports of progress vs plan  

·Oversee development and implementation of a marketing and communications plan

·Be involved with or lead selected projects as relevant and agreed

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised grant manager with exceptional communication and relationship building skills, to manage all aspects of grants from The Christie Charity to the NHS Trust.

The role will take responsibility for collating project information and supporting internal teams to communicate and demonstrate project impact and ensure accountability to our external partners and audiences.

Home and Well Project

Home and Well is a partnership service supporting residents across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to return home safely after a hospital stay and maintain their wellbeing. Through a holistic, wrap-around approach, the project provides energy and water advice, income maximisation, Priority Service Register (PSR) referrals, and signposting to additional support services. Home and Well Direct enables referrals from a wide range of organisations, ensuring vulnerable clients receive timely, coordinated support to sustain independence at home.

The Role

To provide effective coordination and administrative support to the Home & Well project, ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery, strong communication with staff, and accurate monitoring and reporting of performance data.

Key Responsibilities

•  Administration of and coordination of our important Home and Well Project.
• Communication across teams and organising and chairing meetings
• Production of detailed data reporting
• Supporting ongoing project improvements
• Supporting the Project Manager
• Building strong relationships with staff and stakeholders

You will ideally bring experience of administering and coordinating projects, as well as supporting strong relationships with staff at all levels, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. You will share our passion for community wellbeing and social justice. You’ll be organised and have a strong attention to detail. You will enjoy collating data and looking for solutions.

Purpose of Role:

• To ensure the smooth and effective running of all aspects of Healthwatch Bucks’ delivery.
• Work with the Chief Executive to review, maintain, and update policies and procedures and ensure organisational compliance.
• Maintain HR and other records in line with agreed policies and legal requirements.
• Provide effective administrative support for the recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, and departure of staff, volunteers, and directors.
• Oversee a professional, courteous, and empathetic signposting service for people seeking health and social care information.
• Ensure that all staff, volunteers, and directors can use data, information, and record-keeping systems appropriately and comply with policies and procedures, including Data Protection, confidentiality, and GDPR.
• Act as the central point of contact for volunteers, helping to facilitate positive relationships between volunteers and staff and ensuring volunteers remain engaged in the wider work of the organisation.

This is a home based role with regular travel within Buckinghamshire.

We are looking for two Domestic Abuse Prevention Workers to support the delivery of services across Greater Manchester.

The role
The Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker will undertake individual and group sessions with men and women who are participating in our Domestic Abuse Prevention Programmes (DAPP) or Domestic Abuse Interventions. The purpose of this role is to deliver sessions that support a perpetrator to address and change their behaviour, ensuring they develop their understanding of domestic abuse, as well as it’s impact on others. You will conduct comprehensive needs and suitability assessments. You will support the delivery of face-to-face and online sessions, including two evening group sessions per week. 

As a Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker, you will work with people on awareness raising, developing their motivation to change, ensuring accountability, and prioritising the safety of their partners/ex-partners and any children involved. The Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with the victim/survivor integrated service to review risk, develop safety plans, and improve outcomes for all parties involved. 

About you
You’ll have a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on clients and children, as well as the reasons behind abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.

 Your knowledge extends to the range of statutory and voluntary agencies that clients and their children may encounter, and you are aware of the impact of domestic abuse on children and parenting, including the additional needs of clients from BMER communities. 

You will have experience in working with clients on issues of domestic abuse, providing one-to-one and group support and advice, managing your own workload and administration, and assessing the risk and safety of your clients and those connected to your client. You will have handled safeguarding disclosures and referrals, and you communicate clearly with a range of people both over the telephone and in person. 

You will be organised, able to use your initiative, and work effectively as part of a multi-service team. Your administrative skills are strong, and you are adept at using a computer to maintain effective systems. 

Flexible and willing to work evenings, you can travel independently. Additionally, you will have an understanding of trauma-informed practices, risk mitigation, and safeguarding. Experience liaising with social workers and other professionals, and in related areas such as substance misuse, child protection, or family support, is desirable. 

Fluency in an additional language and skills in group work are also advantageous. You stay updated with best practices and new initiatives.

We're recruiting 2 x Individual Giving Officer roles to join the team.

As an Individual Giving Officer, you will support the Senior Individual Giving Officer in generating and delivering inspiring and motivating marketing and stewardship communications - as well as leading on delegated campaigns and projects, to build engagement with supporters and drive long term support for Mind.

You will deliver marketing campaigns from beginning to end - from writing briefs and working with agencies and internal teams on media, creative, data, print, production, and fulfilment, to collating results and using data and insight to optimise activity and deliver a brilliant supporter experience.

You'll be joining a team of friendly and passionate fundraisers, and you'll be supported to develop your skills and personal development plans in a wellbeing focused environment.

The Individual Giving team is a part of the wider Mass Engagement team, and you will play a pivot role in helping the team to reach and exceed their target of raising over £23 million, so that Mind can fight for timely access to great quality care for all.

This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

About you

-Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating campaigns or activities, managing timelines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders to meet targets; with a track record of meeting and exceeding KPIs.

-Experience interpreting and analysing data to optimise marketing, fundraising or communication campaigns or stewardship strategies to improve performance and strengthen loyalty and trust.

-Excellent interpersonal skills and can build strong relationships internally and externally with suppliers, agencies, and stakeholders to collaborate and deliver a high-quality supporter experience.

-Experience in innovative thinking and creative approaches to enhance campaign performance and deepen supporter engagement.

-Experience administering PO & invoicing processes, accurately tracking expenditure to ensure activities are within budget and supporting financial reporting.
