Purpose of the role
The Senior Legal Officer plays a key role in supporting ILPA’s legal and policy work on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality.
Working under the direction of the Legal Director, the post holder will lead detailed legal and policy analysis, support parliamentary and influencing activity and contribute to high-quality information and engagement for ILPA members.
Key responsibilities
1. Legal and policy analysis
a. Produce high-quality analysis of immigration, asylum and nationality law and policy.
b. Monitor developments in legislation, case law and policy, including secondary legislation and guidance.
c. Prepare written briefings, updates and summaries for members, trustees and external stakeholders.
d. Support the Legal Director in the development and delivery of ILPA’s legal strategy.
2. Parliamentary and influencing work
a. Support ILPA’s parliamentary work, including monitoring legislation and parliamentary business.
b. Draft consultation responses, briefings and evidence submissions.
c. Assist in engagement with parliamentarians, officials, peers and external organisations.
d. Support the organisation of meetings and briefings with MPs, peers, civil servants and sector partners.
e. Contribute to ILPA’s influencing activity through written and oral advocacy.
3. Member engagement and sector support
a. Liaise with ILPA members to gather evidence and practice insight to inform policy positions.
b. Support ILPA’s thematic and regional working groups, including attending meetings and progressing agreed actions.
c. Respond to and triage member enquiries, directing issues to appropriate working groups or colleagues.
d. Promote knowledge-sharing across the immigration and advice sector.
4. Legal project delivery
a. Ensure project outputs are delivered on time and to the required standard.
b. Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and funder reporting where required.
5. Information management and publications
a.Ensure legal and policy information is accurately stored, organised and retrievable.
b. Work with the Content and Digital Services Manager to ensure accuracy and clarity of published legal content.
6. Organisational contribution
a. Support cross-team working with training, content and litigation colleagues.
b. Contribute to organisational planning, learning and continuous improvement.

This is not a care role. It’s a practical, hands on support position focused on empowering people to manage their tenancies, develop essential life skills, and overcome barriers that may be affecting their housing stability. You’ll be working alongside tenants to help them feel more in control of their circumstances, stay independent, and move on positively at the end of their term.
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll provide high quality, person centred housing support to adults and families living in temporary accommodation, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to sustain their tenancies and move on successfully. You’ll work flexibly, delivering 1-to-1 support both over the phone and through home visits, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs, backgrounds, and circumstances of each household. Acting as a bridge between accommodation and a stable home, you’ll ensure tenants have the knowledge, tools, and support networks needed to thrive throughout their housing journey.
Your role will involve:
- Risk Management: Completing and regularly updating risk assessments to ensure the safety of tenants, the community, and yourself.
- Housing Related Support: Offering guidance on budgeting, benefit claims (including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit), rent payments, and basic home management.
- Signposting & Advocacy: Identifying additional needs such as mental health, employment, or substance misuse, and connecting tenants to specialist external agencies.
- Administrative Excellence: Maintaining accurate digital case notes in real time, ensuring GDPR compliance and strong, high quality reporting
- Team Collaboration: Providing “roving” support to colleagues and assisting at other schemes when required to ensure continuity of service.
- Holistic Support Planning: Co producing personalised support plans with tenants, setting clear and measurable goals to strengthen housing stability and overall wellbeing.
What we’re looking for
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex housing information clearly to a diverse tenant group, including individuals and families.
- Ability to travel independently to tenants’ homes as part of regular support delivery.
- Experience in housing, social care or community support (desirable but not essential – full training provided for the right candidate).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and digital case management systems, with confident report writing skills.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
- A collaborative, “can do” attitude with a willingness to support other schemes and colleagues during busy periods.

What will I be doing?
- Champion student engagement: Build strong relationships with university physics societies across the UK and ROI, supporting impactful activities aligned with IOP strategy.
- Lead engagement programmes: Deliver events like PLANCKS preliminaries, FUSE, and the Conference of Astronomy and Physics Students (CAPS), plus project-manage our inaugural Careers Fair in 2026.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Communications to come and join our team providing maternity cover until January 2027 during a period of organisational growth.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Beacon is seeking a creative, organised, and digitally savvy Digital Content Officer, whose role will focus on two main areas: delivering day-to-day communications and supporting digital projects.
At the heart of this role is driving engagement with Beacon’s events and projects, strengthening our community connections, and communicating our impact clearly and effectively. You will coordinate content across multiple channels - including social media, email, newsletters, and the Beacon website - and monitor the effectiveness of these communications. This includes writing copy, creating graphics and video content, scheduling and publishing materials, and engaging with the rare disease community on behalf of Beacon. You will also drive promotional and outreach activity, helping connect with patient groups, partners, and wider networks to amplify Beacon’s work.
You will support The Resources Hub (our e-learning platform) by assisting with uploading, formatting, publishing, and updating content. As you grow in the role and depending on your skills and capacity, there may be opportunities to contribute to content development, coordinate volunteers and external partners, or assist with other digital projects, such as podcast production, video series, or multimedia content.
While the focus and direction of your work will stem from ongoing events, projects, and organisational priorities, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work and play a key role in driving communications forward. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather information, insights, and key messages from colleagues across the organisation to guide content priorities for communications.

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
nia is a professionally approved member of Rape Crisis England and Wales; an umbrella organisation supporting Rape Crisis Centres across the country. Rape Crisis is completely independent of the government and the criminal justice system.
East London Rape Crisis provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls aged 11 years old+ who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not they have reported to the police. We offer confidential and independent support. Services include advocacy, emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling and group work. The service is provided across Barking & Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Redbridge, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
We form part of the London Sexual Violence Alliance. The Alliance brings together 225 years of expertise and experience and represents a bold, visionary and survivor-centred resource. In the role of ELRC Women and Girls Counsellor, you will provide one to one counselling and group therapy to female survivors of sexual violence. You will work as part of a growing feminist Rape Crisis service that is developing to meet the needs of women and girls. Counselling is delivered face to face, online and via the phone.

JOB PURPOSE
This role sits within The Passage Housing Needs Service (HNS) team. It will provide brief interventions to support individuals who have been placed into accommodation by the HNS team to settle into and sustain their tenancies. The post holder will work holistically to assist individuals to address issues that are impacting on their ability to sustain their accommodation on a time limited basis and will link them into services in their local areas for ongoing support in order for them to gain independence and integrate into their new communities.
MAIN TASKS
- To provide support to individuals who are moving into their new private rented sector accommodation where appropriate and needed. This can include setting up utilities, council tax among other things.
- To support individuals accommodated by the HNS team, in a brief solution focused manner, to find solutions to their housing, benefits, health and other issues when they arise, referring clients to support services, liaising with these, and following up in a timely manner.
- To establish and develop positive and constructive working relationships with a range of services and agencies across London boroughs that can provide support to our clients ensuring the best possible outcomes for them.
- To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.
- Support HNS Workers to complete exit questionnaires to gather feedback and promote co production with the individuals the team supports.
- To ensure that any health and safety and safeguarding concerns are reported appropriately using the correct systems.

Job Description
Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs) provide emotional and practical support and information to victims and survivors of sexual violence who have reported to the police, or are considering reporting to the police.
The role of an ISVA is to support victims and survivors by:
·Ensuring their voice is heard.
·Helping them make the choices that feel right for them.
·Accompanying them to important appointments and to court.
·Supporting them with their next steps after the legal process is over, regardless of the outcome of the case.
If victims and survivors are considering reporting to the police, ISVAs can also help them by:
·Providing impartial information to enable them to make an informed decision.
·Offering an overview of police processes and what to expect if they do decide to report.
·Supporting them in their next steps.
CARA provides an ISVA service to adults, young people and children who have been victims of sexual violence from across mid and North Essex, and Uttlesford.
Most ISVA clients are referred to CARA through the Police or the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). Clients can also refer themselves.
Duties and Responsibilities
For all clients
· To liaise with CARA’s Information and Referrals Coordinator and First Contact Navigators in supporting new referrals to the ISVA service.
· To undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with clients.
· To develop individual service plans to address risks/support needs of clients.
· To help clients access services to which they are entitled, e.g. through setting up fast-track referral systems to sexual health follow-up services, making referrals to mental health services, assisting with return to work/absence from work arrangements.
· To provide face-to-face and telephone support (non-therapeutic) to clients and their supporters where appropriate.
· To help clients to develop their own support network.
· To explain criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to clients.
· To provide information in relation to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
· Where relevant and with client’s consent, to keep other agencies informed about important changes in client’s situation.
· To consider safeguarding issues and follow CARA’s safeguarding policy and procedures.
If a client reports to the Police
· To support the client throughout their time in the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within it.
· Subject to local arrangements and their wishes, to support the client at every step; from the provision of their witness statement through to a trial.
· To liaise with the police and CPS on behalf of the client. To keep them informed about the progress of their case on behalf of the police in line with the requirements of the Victims Code of Practice.
· To participate in case conferences with the police and CPS.
· To understand and support the need for some clients to access special measures.
General
· To manage a caseload of around 50 clients (pro rata), including adults, young people and children.
· To travel to client meetings in a variety of settings, including outreach premises and clients’ homes.
· To maintain and monitor records, using a purpose-built online database.
· To follow procedures and protocols so that the safety of the client is kept central to any process.
· To note and feedback to other agencies any difficulties clients are having accessing their service.
· To contribute to the development of service policies, protocols, guidelines and strategies within areas of practice as necessary.
· To develop and maintain effective communication systems with key partners including the police, CPS, HMCTS, social services, education, primary care trust (mental and sexual health), Victim Support, Witness Service, CAFCASS and voluntary sector organisations.
·To participate in team meetings, supervision, training and development.
·To participate in co-location working within Colchester and Chelmsford police stations.
· To provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies, including participation in the delivery of training sessions.
· To have a clear understanding of the myths surrounding sexual violence, and the trauma and long-term mental health effects it creates, including self-harm, suicidal feelings and suicide attempts.
· To be aware of resources available regarding interpreters, signers etc.
· To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.
· To adhere in full to all CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding.
· To report to the ISVA Manager, Head of Operations, CEO and Trustees as required, including the production of written reports.
· To be administratively self-servicing.

We Are Survivors are currently looking for individuals that have the passion, drive and determination to help us deliver our OUT Spoken Talking Therapy Services in HMP Garth and HMP Wymott.
We Are Survivors provide survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male (including Trans and Non-binary) victims/survivors, and their loved ones, of sexual harms. We have developed a three-tiered approach to services and underpin everything we do with a ‘trauma and recovery’ framework pioneered by Dr Judith Herman.
We are currently commissioned to deliver trauma-informed therapy services in 15 prisons across the Northwest of England and we require postings in our prisons across Merseyside, Lancaster and Cheshire. Please note we have no vacancies in our Greater Manchester prisons.
About You
You will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist who holds at least a Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy or equivalent and be registered with BACP or equivalent (preferably an accredited member). You will understand issues relating to trauma, be able to work as part of a team and feel confident working in a prison setting. You will hold a full driving licence, have access to a vehicle and be within a reasonable commute to estates.
