The RSPCA York, Harrogate & District Branch is seeking to increase its fundraising activity in order to secure the funding neccessary to completely rebuild the York Animal Home. We are looking to bring on an experienced individual to design, launch and lead our capital campaign and raise the remaining funds needed to complete the project.
The Capital Campaign Lead will take overall responsibility for planning, leading and delivering the £5m capital appeal over the next few years. This includes developing the case for support, managing campaign phases, cultivating major donors and funders, and ensuring strong governance, reporting and stewardship throughout the campaign.
The York Animal Home was built in 1980 and no longer meets modern welfare, licensing or operational requirements. Demand for our services is rising sharply, while the complexity and scale of cases continues to grow. We are at the point where our current animal facilities do meet our needs and have been working to redevelop the site and build new modern facilities.
We have received planning permission and are in the process of finalising the designs prior to construction beginning this year.
We expect Major donors, high-net worth individuals and corporate partnerships to make up the main elements of the fundraising campaign, so are looking for individuals with a proven track record of raising large sums in these areas.

About the role

You can work methodically to solve user problems, create and follow processes, and uphold governance standards, while also using your creative skills to design content, edit personal stories, and craft compelling copy.

- Proficiency using a content management system (CMS)

Chief Officer
Citizens Advice Woking (CAW) provides free, independent, and confidential advice and information to the residents of Woking, and anyone who works in the Borough, particularly the most vulnerable, to help with the problems they face. - Is responsible to the Trustee Board for the management and leadership of Citizens Advice Woking,

- Is responsible for the continuing funding, planning and financial management of the service,

- Manage CAW’s external relationships with our funders and the Woking community generally, to ensure satisfaction with the delivery of current projects, and their continuation,
- Collaborate closely with the other Surrey LCA Chief Officers to respond to the changing funding landscape. In parallel, continue to identify and deliver local projects for local funders,
- Ensure that suitable alternative premises are secured, and the transition is managed as smoothly as possible,

Community Project Lead

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Project Lead to join our team and lead the development of our advice services for under-served communities. This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. The resulting report outlines the barriers they face, and will form the foundation for this project and directly inform the work you will lead.

The post holder will take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day administration of the Trust’s membership schemes, using the Charity CRM database to maintain accurate contact & financial records in line with GDPR. This includes processing new, renewing and lapsed memberships, handling payments ( Direct Debits, PayPal & Gift Aid) and providing consistently high-quality communication with members through enquiries, welcome packs, renewal reminders and supporter care.

This is a maternity cover role to cover a period of maternity leave (up to one year) working 22.5 hours per week over three days (office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm) based at Brooke House in Ashbocking. There may be opportunity for the role to become a permanent contract. We operate flexible homeworking arrangements where colleagues spend more time working together than homeworking. The starting salary is £14,398.80 per annum pro-rata (FTE £23,998.00).

We’re looking for a creative and data-driven Senior Social Media Officer to take the lead on managing and evolving our social media presence across multiple channels. You’ll work closely with colleagues across our global teams to bring our brand to life online — raising awareness, driving engagement, and helping us tell powerful stories of change.
This role sits within our Brand & Communications team. You’ll be responsible for managing digital communities, creating compelling content, spotting trends, and using data insights to optimise our performance. You’ll also play a vital role in building capacity across the organisation, helping others to use social media in a way that’s consistent, impactful, and aligned with our global objectives.
Accountabilities
- Lead the development and delivery of our social media strategy, ensuring alignment with broader communications goals.
- Manage our global social media channels and digital communities — engaging followers, responding to queries, and growing our reach.
- Create and coordinate engaging, platform-appropriate content — including graphics, video, and storytelling.
- Analyse and report on performance, using insights to inform strategy and day-to-day decisions.
- Stay ahead of trends, spotting new opportunities for engagement and innovation.
- Support colleagues and partners with expert advice, toolkits, and training to strengthen their own social media activity.
- Contribute to integrated campaigns, helping us amplify fundraising and other strategic profiling efforts (e.g. influencing, thought leadership, etc).

Your exceptional communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, showing persuasive leadership to foster a culture of creativity and innovation rooted in data-backed insights and strategic brand building.
You are passionate about social justice, sustainable development, and climate resilience, and understand the power of social media to galvanise audiences and achieve organisational objectives. You’re curious, collaborative, and confident in your expertise, and feel equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to create content or digging into analytics to continuously optimise performance.
You stay informed about emerging digital innovations, always seeking new ways to elevate Practical Action’s work and profile.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in social media strategy and management (experience in the INGO or development sector a plus).
- Excellent knowledge of key platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) strengths and opportunities, and how to get the most out of them.
- Strong storytelling skills and experience creating multimedia content, with grounded confidence to adapt master narratives and campaigns to diverse audiences.
- Spotless attention to detail and commitment to the development of high-quality outputs aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
- Solid grasp of digital analytics, social listening tools, and the ability to translate data into insights, creating accessible reports and actionable recommendations.
- Continuous curiosity and understanding of current digital trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
- Ability to work with and mentor a diverse array of colleagues from different backgrounds and cultures at all levels and experience.
- An inclusive, respectful, and collaborative mindset is a must.
