We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Project Worker to join our team in Invergordon. In this role, you'll work directly with people experiencing mental health challenges and you'll provide practical and emotional support that helps them move forward in their recovery journey.

This is a permanent, 16-hour per week role.

Working as part of a supportive team, you'll build positive relationships, help people identify goals and work to them, facilitate activities and groups, and create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where individuals feel valued and empowered.

What You'll Bring (Essential Criteria)

• Experience working in health, social care, community support or related fields
• Empathy, care, person-centred practice focused on recovery
• Excellent communication, IT, and workload priority skills

Great to Have (Desirable Criteria)

• Experience supporting people affected by mental ill health.
• Experience working within an SSSC registered service.
• Evidence of ongoing learning and professional development.
• SVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline

Overall Job Purpose:

Seeds of Peace is an organisation which inspires and cultivates new generations of global leaders in communities divided by conflict by providing them with the skills, relationships, and community to transform conflict into progress. This Seeds of Peace Camp brings together young people from across Egypt, India, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Palestine, and US and UK to work collaboratively with peers in a multi-national setting. The program provides a transformative journey of personal growth through dialogue and leadership exercises, equipping participants to become effective agents of change in their communities.

The Camp staff team consists of counselors, facilitators, activity leaders and a leadership team, all working together to create and implement the camp programme and contribute to an environment of harmony at Camp. The role of Counsellor is to guide and mentor campers in their day to day experience of camp. Counsellors are by campers' side throughout their journey, encouraging and supporting them along the way.

This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people while developing your own leadership, facilitation, and intercultural communication skills as part of a dedicated team.

Main responsibilities include:

Camper Support and Supervision

• Supervise campers in residential and activity groups, ensuring you know where campers are at all times.
• Get to know each camper individually and provide the support they need to help them have a safe and successful camp experience.
• Support campers in their day-to-day needs, including proactively supporting campers emotional and physical wellbeing and managing camper behaviour.
• Mentor and prioritise the well-being of campers at all times, while acting as a role model and offering guidance and support to campers.
• Collaborate with other staff to address complex issues and ensure camper well-being.
• Maintain open communication with campers to uphold a supportive atmosphere.
• Facilitation of cultural exchange and understanding amongst campers by embracing and celebrating the diverse backgrounds of campers.

Programming and Activities:

• Encourage active participation for campers in all camp activities.

Additional Camp Support

• Contribute to an atmosphere of communication, trust and respect on Camp.
• Collaborate with the Dialogue and Group Challenge team (Dialogue Lead and facilitators) in all aspects of camp life.
• Adhering to all Seeds of Peace policies and procedures, in order to create a Camp environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
• Commitment to professionalism in an informal educational space.
• Provide support and encouragement to other staff members and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for participants.

Prerequisite knowledge, skills and competencies:

• Significant experience working in a multi-cultural environment - knowledge of cultural sensitivities regarding Seeds of Peace delegations

Notes

• This position is residential, meaning meals and accommodation are provided during camp and staff training. Furthermore, the cost of travel to and from camp and cost of Visa Application Fee (if applicable) is covered by Seeds of Peace.
• All staff are required to commit to the full duration of the session July 18th - August 10th and participate in a mandatory staff training held both online prior to camp and in person on camp July 10th - 17th

• Be entitled to work in the UK
• Hold a DBS certificate or be willing to let Seeds of Peace undertake a check on your behalf
• Have a recent safeguarding qualification from a recognised provider or be willing to undertake additional training in this area
• Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, confidentiality, data protection and reporting concerns to an appropriate person

Main Responsibilities Include:

Camp Programming and Activities

• Design and lead activities as part of the arts, sports, or group challenge activity team.
• Running activities that complement the camp Dialogue programme and contain dialogic elements in line with the Dialogue curriculum.
• Plan, create and implement all camp programming for 120 campers.
• Developing a resource base of activities that meet the goals and objectives of the programme
• Preparing rainy day back up programmes which can be implemented at short notice
• Design, plan and run ‘Colour Games’ - a two day phase of camp with various individual and group activities.
• Creating an environment of fun, engagement and inclusivity in all activities

Additional Camp Support

• Contribute to an atmosphere of communication, trust and respect on Camp.
• Supporting Counsellors with bunk responsibilities after the camp day’s activities.
• Collaborate with the Dialogue team (Dialogue Lead and facilitators) in all aspects of camp life.
• Adhering to all Seeds of Peace policies and procedures, in order to create a Camp environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
• Commitment to professionalism in an informal educational space.
• Assisting with night patrol duties

About The Role
Would you like to play a key part in influencing national decisionmakers across Wales, England and Northern Ireland to drive major, positive change in the dementia policy space? Then this could be the role for you. 
Sitting within Alzheimer’s Society’s National Influencing team, as our new National Influencing Officer you would be instrumental in delivering innovative, engaging, collaborative, and evidence-based influencing work. You’d be ensuring that political and health system stakeholders are acting on the biggest issues affecting people living with dementia, working closely with other teams to drive work that is integrated locally and nationally. 
While this role is predominantly focused on delivering national influencing activity in Wales, you’ll also be part of a fluid and flexible team that operates across boundaries and supports with our political work in England and Northern Ireland. 
This is an exciting time for dementia policy in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We have the chance to ensure that governments are prioritising dementia and the needs of all those affected by the condition. Our National Influencing Officer will be at the forefront of taking on this vitally important challenge. 
About the role 
Every day, people affected by dementia tell us what matters most to them. We listen, learn, and use what they share, alongside evidence and research, to influence real change. 
What would it take to make sure those voices are truly heard by the people making decisions? 
As our National Influencing Officer, you will help make sure those voices are heard by the people making decisions. Working across Wales and as part of a three nations team, you will build relationships with politicians, decision makers and health leaders to help improve support and services for people affected by dementia.  
In this role, you will: 

- Lead or support political engagement across Wales and potentially other UK nations, using your knowledge of parliamentary structures and influencing routes to drive change. 
- Provide oversight and coordination of political monitoring and stakeholder engagement activity. 
- Plan and deliver impactful public affairs (or similar) events, including parliamentary receptions, breakfast meetings, roundtables, and party conference activity. 
- Translate evidence-based policy positions into compelling and effective influencing strategies that achieve real-world impact. 
- Build delivery plans focused on meaningful outcomes and measure their success through evaluation and learning. 
- Produce high-quality, accessible content to inform and engage stakeholders, using strong presentational and communication skills. 

About you 
You care about improving the lives of people affected by dementia. You are curious, proactive and enjoy working with others to make things happen. 
What motivates you to turn complex issues into clear action that leads to change? 
You may already have experience in public affairs, policy, advocacy or a related field. Or your experience may come from a different route, such as community work, lived experience, or another role where you have influenced change. 
You will bring: 

- Excellent knowledge of the political and health system and how to influence national decisionmakers. 
- A strong understanding of the external political environment and a proven track record in political or similar stakeholder management at a national level. 
- Experience engaging proactively with national politicians and decisionmakers, acting as the first point of contact for their teams. 
- Confidence and credibility in working with both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to influence across geographical and organisational boundaries. 
- A proven ability to operate and thrive in fast-paced, multi-dimensional environments, and to adapt well to change and ambiguity. 
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data into accessible, impactful content and recommendations. 
- Experience working across multiple UK nations in complex influencing environments. 
- A commitment to involving people with lived experience – such as those with dementia or long-term health conditions – in your work.
