Church of England Central Services (ChECS) is a jointly controlled entity between the Archbishops'
Council, the Church Commissioners for England and the Church of England Pensions Board and
was set up in 2013 to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Church Institutions

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our not-for-profit Finance Team. The role is responsible for the day-to-day processing and recording of Library transactions including receipts and payments, effectively, efficiently and accurately.

In this pivotal role, you will:

· Create, manage, and maintain accurate and complete purchase ledger and sales ledger data, and ensure supplier payments are made on time

· Manage entries in the Continia document-capture accounts payable system and Microsoft Business Central finance system

· Maintain a logical audit trail for all transactions

· Assist with preparation and processing of payroll

· Support the Library’s staff and budget holders

About you

We are looking for someone who

· Has demonstrable practical experience of effective purchase/general/sales ledger operations and management of financial processes in a not for profit and/or membership organisation

· Is fluent in the use and understanding of accounting software for medium sized entities/charities (Microsoft Business Central preferable)

· Has experience of supporting payroll processing (preferably in Sage)

· Has experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM software for membership and/or charitable donations data 

· Has demonstrable ability to work both effectively as part of a team, and to work independently

· Is able to plan, prioritise and carry out routine work to a consistent standard, with attention to detail and meticulous concern for accuracy

· Has good interpersonal and communication skills; able to convey information clearly and courteously, in person, by phone and in writing

· Will bring excellent IT skills (MS Office especially Excel, email, internet)

The Ministry Development Team (MDT) is a team of 45 people which sits within the Archbishops' Council. We are nationally responsible for ensuring that there is a pipeline of lay and ordained ministers together with their terms of service and the development of future and current senior leaders to meet the missional needs of the church. As such we have a key role to play in the delivery of our national Vision and Strategy in which we aspire to be a church which is Jesus Christ shaped and centred.

The Assistant Ministry Human Resources (HR) Policy Officer will play a key role in the life of the Ministry Development Team as we work together to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England by supporting the development of the ministerial terms of service and wellbeing portfolio. The post holder will be line managed by the Ministry HR Lead and work in collaboration with colleagues across the church especially in the MDT and HR teams.

You will work closely with families and professionals to support people’s health, wellbeing and independence, while responding calmly and effectively in a range of situations. MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Reporting to the Apprenticeship Manager you will be responsible for:

• Acting as the first point of contact for apprenticeship queries, training providers and internal stakeholders
• Helping promote apprenticeship opportunities internally and supporting recruitment and upskilling initiatives across the Harris Federation
• Providing support to manage the Harris Federation apprenticeship levy, tracking costs, progress and compliance with funding requirements

• Supporting internal and external marketing for apprenticeship activities as part of wider employer branding and promoting engagement events to increase awareness and understanding of apprenticeships

• Maintaining and advising on safeguarding compliance, including neuro-inclusion, in alignment with the Ofsted framework, especially for under-18 apprentices

Secondment/Fixed Term opportunity until March 31st 2027

The Rough Sleeping Prevention Project (RSPP) works across Islington and Lambeth and provides a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough.

What you'll be doing

In the role of a Support Assistant (known internally as Hub Assistant), you'll jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and to provide basic support and advice to clients. You will also be the first point of contact for clients and visitors and coordinating the Health and Safety within the service. 

In this vital role, it is essential that you are flexible to work on the weekly rota to ensure services are accessible to those who are homeless, at the time they most need our support.

Working days are Monday – Friday. Exact hours to be agreed upon.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who would describe themselves as a content creator, writer, and social media communicator to join our existing team. You will be someone with a proven track record in digital communications and website management who can help raise the profile of the SBS brand and attract new audiences to engage with the mission of SBS.  

You will be articulate with strong influencing skills, who thrives in a fast-paced communications environment. This is a significant role in an organisation with a strong Christian ethos, therefore there is an occupational requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian.

· Full-time role based at Bible House, Edinburgh near Haymarket train station.

· Currently operating a hybrid model, 3 days in the office (Tue to Thur) and the option to work remotely 2 days.

· Out of normal business hours or occasional weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu in return.

Role Overview:

The Talent Set are delighted to partner with our client on a fantastic Financial Accounts Assistant role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support key financial processes for a wonderful charity, ensuring smooth month-end and reconciliation activities.

The successful candidate will join the organisation on a temporary basis, providing essential financial support. The role involves processing payments, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end procedures, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. There is a potential for this role to extend and even become permanent.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment runs.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash allocations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Support month-end procedures and financial reporting tasks.
• Assist with general ledger entries and financial data entry.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation to support audit readiness.

Person Specification

• Proven experience with basic accounting functions and processes.
• Knowledge of month-end reconciliation and finance workflows.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
• Able to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a flexible environment.

London Landmarks Half Marathon Event Assistant

The London Landmarks Half Marathon is looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Event Assistant to be on the frontline of participant support, helping ensure every runner has the best possible experience. It’s an exciting time to join the team as we look ahead to our 10th anniversary event in 2027.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and delivering excellent customer service. You’ll be the first point of contact for participant queries across email and phone, providing clear, friendly and timely support, and making sure every interaction is handled with care and accuracy.

Alongside this, you’ll support website updates, maintain accurate information across systems, and help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. You’ll also contribute to community engagement and event delivery, including supporting the coordination of performers and musicians, assisting with our volunteer programme, and helping deliver a smooth and engaging race weekend.

We’re looking for someone calm under pressure, detail-focused and proactive, someone who can juggle multiple tasks, adapt quickly and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.

To provide an exceptional standard of organisational, administrative and project support to Directors within the Commercial & Growth and Operations Directorates, enabling them to operate effectively and efficiently.

What you'll do:

• Provide high-quality support to Directors, ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day running.
• Proactively manage multiple complex diaries, correspondence and priorities, exercising sound judgement on when to support, challenge or hold the line as appropriate.
• Coordinate and provide full administrative support for Directorates and corporate meetings, including the Performance Review meetings, providing end-to-end support, including scheduling, agenda management, paper collation, accurate note-taking, and follow-up of agreed actions and outcomes, reviewing and preparation of papers.

About you:

• An experienced and confident, senior level administrator/personal assistant, with enthusiasm to deliver a high quality and effective service
• Able to immerse yourself within the business, understanding the work of the directorate and the organisational structures and personalities in place.
• Able to work with gravitas, courage and be calm under pressure, building credibility and respect with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

Essential:

• Experience in a similar role.
• A qualification to degree level (or equivalent) in Business Administration would be beneficial but not essential.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting Directors or senior leaders in a complex or regulated organisation.
• Experience of supporting formal governance or performance review forums, including minute-taking and action tracking.
• Experience of working in housing, social care, health, or a similar public-facing or not-for-profit sector.
