Myaware is a charity dedicated to ensuring that all people living with or alongside myasthenia can live well, now and in the future. Due to demands on the service we are looking to expand our crucial support team which has provided an exciting opportunity to join the team.
You will be working with our dedicated support team to advise and support our members, over the phone, via email, in online sessions and at conferences and support groups in the community. Providing a listening ear and advice on living with myasthenia is essential as they navigate their diagnosis journey and learn how to live well with the condition.
Delivering support and advice for our members also involves using our CRM database and proactively maintaining and increasing our membership. It requires ongoing essential awareness raising of our work through annual initiatives and campaigns and through growing relationships with Healthcare Professionals and other neurological organisations.
Who are we?
Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia.
We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition.
We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.
Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist welfare rights advisor.
Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families. We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals.
The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

Role Purpose:
The Fundraising & Marketing team’s purpose is to advocate for and raise flexible and unrestricted funding to enable Womankind to deliver it’s 2030 organisational strategy.
The Individual Giving Manager will lead and deliver strategic planning and management of all individual giving, community fundraising and legacy income. The role is responsible for growing and sustaining Womankind’s individual donor base to increase flexible, unrestricted funding, using digital and traditional channels and other innovative approaches.
Areas of responsibilities:
Strategy & planning – Lead Womankind’s individual giving strategy including individual giving, legacy giving and community fundraising, across digital and offline channels, driving supporter engagement and long-term giving in line with Womankind’s brand and strategy.
Budgeting and analysis – Manage and forecast the individual giving budget, monitor performance, and use donor and campaign data to optimise income and inform strategic decision-making.
Campaign and appeal delivery – Supported by the Fundraising and Marketing Officer, and Fundraising and Database officer, and working closely with the Communications Manager and Communications Officer, write, produce and deliver a programme of offline and online donor recruitment and retention campaigns.
Data and compliance - Oversee fundraising data and financial reporting – supported by the FDO, ensuring accurate records, timely reconciliation, and full compliance with best practice and legislation, including GDPR.
People management and leadership - Provide effective line management to the Fundraising & Database Officer and Fundraising & Marketing Officer, including regular 1-to-1s, annual appraisals, and support for professional development in line with Womankind’s policies.

Essential Experience:
Proven experience in managing digital fundraising programmes, with a track record of achieving income targets and driving growth
Demonstrable experience of direct marketing (both donor development and donor acquisition campaigns) and demonstrable understanding of database marketing principles
Experience of writing engaging and inspiring copy for a range of media with outstanding written communication skills with consistent attention to detail
Proven ability to prepare, maintain and report on annual income and expenditure budgets. This should include routine use of spreadsheet packages
Experience of using Beacon or an equivalent fundraising database to a high level, to carry out campaign analysis and to prepare management information

You will be our internal technical expert on food policy, ensuring all of our work is evidence-based and impactful, as well as being our external representative, liaising with leading policy and research experts across academia, civil society, and government agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Research
Work with the Director of Strategy & Delivery and Research Manager to plan research projects and support their delivery, ensuring they support policy calls and reflect young peoples’ experiences.
Lead the translation of Bite Back’s research into high quality outputs including reports, briefings and submissions.
Work with campaigns, communications and content teams to turn research findings into high impact creative communications for a range of audiences.
Serve as a primary spokesperson for our research including in media placements, speaking slots and government evidence sessions.
Policy development
Lead on the development of Bite Back’s policy positions in key and emerging areas, ensuring young peoples’ views and experiences are fed in at every stage.
Lead the development of all policy outputs including submissions, consultation responses and briefings, ensuring they are evidence-based and reflect young peoples’ voices.
Lead the technical policy liaison with stakeholders and experts in the field to gather evidence and critically assess the Bite Back’s positions.
Evidence
Keep abreast of new evidence on key areas relating to nutrition, climate and health and consider the implications for Bite Back’s policy and relevant activity.
Collaborate internally to provide knowledge and advice on policy and evidence issues with colleagues and the youth board.
Review and sign off key outputs to ensure they reflect the latest evidence and data.
Stakeholder engagement
Build and maintain relationships with a range of external stakeholders to support Bite Back’s influencing agenda, including with senior government policymakers, academia, WHO and other charities in England, Scotland, and abroad.
Represent Bite Back on a range of alliances, coalitions and partnerships.
Deputise for the Director of Strategy & Delivery when needed.
Leadership
Line management of Research Manager and Impact & Evaluation manager, with a dotted line to the Policy & Engagement Executive and Senior Programmes & Policy Manager for Scotland.
Operate as a member of the extended leadership team, collaborating with other Heads and the Directors to ensure research and policy considerations are embedded seamlessly into campaigns, communications and programmes.
Lead the policy and research strategy development for Bite Back in new geographies, providing visionary technical leadership in how we expand to new countries across the UK and abroad.

Required:
Significant experience of managing food policy work, which has informed and influenced national and local food policy in England.
In depth knowledge of the breadth of the food, nutrition and obesity public health landscape and the key challenges faced in the policy environment.
Deep technical expertise in food policy research, development, and communication - with a strong focus on commercial determinants of health.
Strong analytical skills, including a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including creative implementation research techniques. and experience with commissioning external research.
Ability to synthesise and utilise evidence to support policy development and influencing.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate complex issues.
Calmness under pressure, with ability to prioritise multiple projects to agreed objectives and deadlines.
Line management experience.

The opportunity: An exciting opportunity to join our Customer Experience Team. The Product & Partnership co-ordinator role will be responsible for the development and delivery of product, ensuring its alignment with CSSC Member's needs, market demands and company goals, to widen and improve the product portfolio.

What you will do:
• Collaborate with the Partnerships Lead, to identify and evaluate potential new partners in line with the Product Roadmap and recruitment opportunities to help drive member engagement.
• Assist with management of current relationships, product development, internal and external queries and implementing the product strategy.
•Managing the exclusive event programme, from idea suggestion, setting up event with the supplier, promoting the event and managing the event on the day
•Research new potential member events and suggest different proposals to improve member satisfaction. Conduct competitor analysis to ensure exclusivity with our events.
•Manage our Magic Monday campaign to research new ideas for members, promote to our members to offer members exclusive offers and incentives every Monday.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define the product’s target audience, positioning, and competitive landscape.
• Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring that product milestones are met.
• Review customer journeys with the assigned product portfolio to understand any pain points and suggest improvements.
• Conduct regular analysis of user data, customer feedback, and market trends to inform product decisions.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback.
• Deliver product updates to internal teams regarding new product launches and changes, as well as support with volunteer member benefit development.

Job description
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting the Hertfordshire countryside and represent CPRE Hertfordshire at events and through media. The role also involves management of a small staff team, the oversight of our Governance including finances, reporting, budget, fundraising, communications and volunteer management.
This is an exciting time to join CPRE Hertfordshire, as the candidate will be able to build and influence the new long-term strategy and annual plan with our Board of Trustees in advance of 2027.
The Chief Executive is responsible for:
1. Contributing to and driving the implementation of CPRE Hertfordshire’s strategy.
2. Delivering effective and efficient operational performance of the charity including robust contingency arrangements.
3. Providing exceptional leadership and management of the team – both paid staff and volunteers – and further growing our volunteer cadre.
4. Delivering the marketing and communications strategy, including membership acquisition and retention communications, email and social media marketing.
5. Leading and managing local Branch campaigns and projects as agreed by the Board of Trustees.
6. Devising and overseeing activities to increase recruitment of new CPRE members.
7. Devising fundraising activities in line with agreed targets in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
8. Overseeing our planning activities, including interaction with those in national and local government roles and community groups, and ensuring the charity keeps up to date with current national and local planning policy.
9. Attending regular meetings with national CPRE and other county branches to share knowledge, formulate “one CPRE” policy positions, and participate in national campaigns.
10. Ensure that the annual operating budget is met and continually look for cost savings across all lines of expenditure.
11. Ensuring that all risk factors faced by the charity in undertaking its activities are clearly understood and mitigated as appropriate.
12. Ensuring the charity keeps up to date with appropriate external best practices and maintains compliance with relevant charity commission and other regulations such as HSE and GDPR.
Essential
1. Successful track record of organisational leadership from a not-for-profit sector role.
2. Demonstrable evidence of exceptional people and team leadership and management skills.
3. Good communication skills and knowledge of social media and websites to support delivery of a marketing strategy.
4. Experience presenting to large groups, taking part in media interviews and writing formal reports.
5. Experience of operational delivery, a completer-finisher.
6. Good financial management and budgeting skills.
7. Full UK driving license with access to own transportation (for occasional meetings and events around the county).
8. A passion for the countryside and protection of the environment.
